  1. When Sark left to go to USC in 2013 it was the day of his Husky Coach's show. It started and the hosts waited and waited, but he never showed up.
  2. They shouldn't be ranked above Nebraska, who also has a shiny new QB.
  3. 2007, the season that could have changed everything. As much as a player had the Heisman and the team had the Natty wrapped up by game 10, it was Dixon and the 2007 Oregon Ducks.
  4. The fascination with Miami is all about Cam Ward. If the U had the QB from last year, they'd have the same record as they do now, Oregon State would be undefeated if they had played Miam's schedule, but they would still be ranked in the 'teens in the poll. But the brand new QB transfer has all the pollsters excited. My hesitancy to think Mario can keep this going is countered by just how soft Miami's schedule is.
  5. Yes. The Ducks don't play USC, so come on Michigan, defend the Big House, beat the Trojans!!!
  6. I agree generally about early season rankings. Except you're right, Oregon State losing to Purdue probably would hurt Oregon. Miami will play better teams than they've played so far, but L's are unlikely. Because they are being so lauded now if they do somehow lose it will be a slight drop.
  7. Early in the article, the writer says, the BIG and SEC are monopolizing the rankings like never before. Usually, I agree with this sentiment, but not this time. He notes that Oregon's No.9 is a bit high, SC at 11, a bit high, but Miami at 8, is too low! Clearly, he was caught in a hurricane and being pelted by coconuts when he wrote this. Georgia was more impressive in its win over Kentucky, than Miami has been in any of its wins. Same with Nebraska and Indiana and Illinois. AP Top 25 Reality Check: SEC, Big Ten grab 16 spots in poll, monopolizing rankings like never before APNEWS.COM The Southeastern Conference and Big Ten occupy 64% of this week’s AP Top 25, with 16 ranked tream combined, the most ever...
  8. Yes. Both of LSU's wins are more impressive than the U's. The Trojans have faced tougher competition, and even without playing Oregon or Ohio State this season, have a tougher schedule than Miami's. Clemson rode to the top of the old format on ACC's schedule and Miami is going to do the same.
  9. Oregon-Arizona 2009 Epic! A lot of Jeff Maehl and Nate Costa's snap save on the extra point that sent the game to OT!
  10. Bucky Irving wasn't on the LMJ, DAT level, but he had more breakaways than this year's flock.
  11. The reactions of the Kansas State fan and coaches after Dat returned the opening kickoff in the 2013 Fiesta Bowl is priceless.
  12. It's not really where he has Oregon, that's fine. But Miami at No.3? USC deserves that more than Miami does. The Trojans have a W over LSU, Miami has beaten, Florida, Florida A & M and Ball State, and their schedule doesn't get much harder for the rest of the season! Georgia sleepwalked over Kentucky, but still played harder tan Miami did in their 3 games.
  13. Open your mouths and say, "O"
  14. The best team they've played so far is UCLA, so there's that. But they have a good shot at being 6-0 when they get Nebraska at home after a Bye.
  15. This encapsulates my interest in the goings on at Beaversville. The coach's post-game comments go right there with, "refurbished" Reser Stadium. Put lipstick on a pig.
  16. The most improbable ending to a football game!
  17. The OL seems to be coming together. Gabriel is a Can't miss QB, the receivers are as deep as Oregon's ever had. The one thing missing that would truly make this offense the irresistible force that no immovable defense could stop, is breakaway speed in the RB's. They turn the corner, but Zoom, isn't there. 6.7 is great, but toss in a 60, once in a while and this offense would be off the charts.
  18. I was at that game, in full Duck gear!!!
  19. Depending on how long you've been a fan of the Ducks, you could have a lot of options. Or maybe you're new, maybe not as many, but still a lot to pick from. For me it's easy. Date: Feb,16, 1974, Location Mac Court, (The Pit) Oregon 56 UCLA 51. Bruce Coldren couldn't miss! Wooden always hated playing Oregon, especially at Mac Court, Walton loved it. There wasn't, won't ever be, an experience in sports like The Pit, during the Kamikaze Era. Scoreboard bouncing on its cables overhead, the backboards shaking, decibel level? Who knows, but you couldn't hear the guy next to you. The Ducks lined up on the midcourt line during the pre-game drills. The visiting team was introduced first. none of that alternating like it's done now, then the Ducks were introduced, and the last player was Ronnie Lee.
  20. SEC and the Committee always find a way to jig the system. I'll take Former Sooner player, now Tennessee coach, Josh Huepel and the Vols over Oklahoma and USC to safely cover -5.5 at Michigan. Interesting that the line opened at USC-10.5.
  21. And with Jameis Winston, "That one could have gone either way"
  22. Mullen actually seems to have watched the games. Dan Mullen releases Top 25 college football rankings after Week 3 - On3 WWW.ON3.COM Dan Mullen released his updated Top 25 rankings after Week 3 of college football, including some big changes toward the top.
  23. Looks like a nice way to start the Playoffs.
