  1. Parrish was indeed the star. It was an interesting game in that in the first quarter Oregon went through a stretch of 4 minutes without scoring but still had a 10 point lead. It was kind of like that the whole game, Oregon would be on the verge of blowing Utah out, but then Utah would hit some shots and make it close. It never looked really scary for Oregon, and definitely great to the first round bye.
  2. A point of comparison can be made between Walton and fellow Bruin, Don MacLean. I can turn the audio off when Mac is on the game and be sure I won't miss a thing. Mac is very good at telling us after a made basket that the player who shot it, "Can make that shot!" Or that when a team is trailing at the end of the game, "They'll need to get some stops"
  3. Right now, I call it 9-3 for UCLA, after Week 5, the Bruins will be 5-0 and in the top 20, with wins over Bowling Green, Alabama State, South Alabama, at Colorado and at Washington. The first L will come at home against Utah, followed by another L at Oregon. A W at home against Stanford, and two more, at home against ASU and on the road against Arizona, before losing at home to USC.
  4. A Duck feast for sure There's even dessert, at approximately 7:30 the softball team will have a game against Cal State Fullerton.
  5. Another Must Win Game Arrives vs. USC for Oregon Ducks Basketball Matt Prehm 247 Sports
  6. It really is interesting to see how the season is working out for the Ducks, they have some big W's, 2 over UCLA, 1 and maybe another over USC. These put them in contention, and as they were winning those games, i didn't see them playing amazing basketball. I saw them playing well, defending, they looked like they belonged with the Bruins and trojans, and they looked like they belonged with No.2 Arizona, before losing at the end. But what has Oregon on the bubble is those L's to Cal, and at Colorado and twice to ASU? How did those happen? Change those to W's and the Ducks are where we expect them to be this time of the season.
  7. Not bad, Ducks, right behind the regulars at the Invitational
  8. "If you don't block, you won't get the rock"
  9. Ah yes, Pat Riley's New York Knicks. It is a credit to Riley I suppose that he could go from coaching Magic Johnson's "Showtime" and then the 90's Knicks. But yes. One of the guys on the halftime show last night mentioned that the game was getting physical, and that would benefit UCLA. Well, it did, but Oregon was called for 12 fouls while UCLA had 18 and one player foul out.
  10. I dealt with that often in the Navy. As a cook particularly when it came to breakfast. The menu was clear, "No exceptions" But, of course every day, sailor after sailor would want 2 eggs instead of 3, bacon instead of sausage, and of course it was even more fun when on Masters At Arms duty, some sailors who were eager to leave the ship, and some who had trouble returning, couldn't remember how it's done. For those who couldn't remember where the aircraft carrier was parked, that was another deal altogether. Rules that are expected to be followed are not hard to find, especially here.
