  1. Oregon State received a $50 Million donation to spur the renovation of Reser Stadium. From 247sports.com
  2. It didn't work out well for them. Going back 10 years before Saban took over, there were 3 coaches, Mike DuBose, '97-00, he went, 24-23, Dennis Franchione took over and lasted two years, 17-8. Next was Mike Shula. In his first two years, Alabama was, 10-15, then it got bad. In his next two years, and Saban's first, 2007, the NCAA hit Alabama with sanctions, and most of their wins were vacated.
  3. Clemson's OC just got an extension and a raise, he will now make $2 million a year.
  4. This could be the litmus test on Mario's, "prevent offense". If, as you mentioned above, Seven can and must be deployed with imagination to be used to most positive effect.
  5. It's always great to see Oregon in the conversation with Alabama, Ohio State and Clemson.
  6. It is interesting that the last time two teams on that list, Texas & USC, were relevant nationally is when they played each other in the Rose Bowl, in 2006. Both have the storied history and are located in fertile recruiting ground, but, without coaching to match, they sink. USC is sticking, might be stuck, in Clay. Texas just hired Sark, who's last head coaching job was at USC.
  7. Great to see, from not even being expected to play, get his first start on minutes notice, to setting rookie records, it only makes sense!
  8. Johnny Rodgers is an iconic figure in college football, he is who I see when I remember the Nebraska teams of the 1970's. In 1971, Oregon went to Nebraska and lost, 34-7. Rodgers rushed, 5-32 yards and received, 2-27, he did not score in the game. In 1972, Rodgers won the Heisman Trophy.
  9. After a pause in basketball activities, the Ducks host the Cougars, 8:00 on FS1. From GoDucks.com
  10. That's the best string of 12 words yet to be posted here!
  11. I already here too much of that now. I still advocate for getting rid of the conference tournaments altogether. But, if they must continue, then let it be a perk to the team that wins, but I don't think it should that team should be a Champion. If it's a team that won the regular season, it could help in seeding. If it's a team that gets hot at the end, it could help to stick out for an at large pick.
  12. This link starts with an article headlined, Jimmy Lake on the transfer culture in CFB..."Its sad, very sad" Then it's followed by an article about Washington getting a WR transfer from 247Sports
  13. 3 is great, and when Oregon gets to the point where it could DROP to 6, 7, 8 in the rankings if things don't go just right, I can live with that.
  14. This is why I don't like the Conference Tournaments. It has worked out for Oregon, and I didn't boycott their appearance in the NCAA's. But, naming the winner of the conference tournament the conference champion instead of the team that went through the schedule and ended up with the best record, in my opinion, is wrong. A "Conference Champion" could have a 4-14 record, but get hot at the right time and win the tournament. The team that finished the season with the best record will still get in, as will the other teams that had worthy seasons, the conference tournament is just a chance for a team to snag a lucky ticket.
  15. Could not agree more. The fact that the winner of a rushed up tournament is recognized as the conference champion, while a team that goes through the season successfully is an At large in the National tournament, is screwed up at best. The conference tournaments are bogus from the start when they recognize the best teams in the seeding.
  16. So far, the Ducks are taking care of the beating them part. USC is living on heritage and location, time for them to catch up.
  17. Exactly. Husky Honks can't believe that any player, much less really talented, would go anywhere else. Dream, remember back to a time that isn't nearly as grand as they think it is, this is what they do.
  18. Cyrus Habibi-Likio has narrowed his transfer destination to 3 schools. From NBC Sports Northwest
