  1. That was the most enjoyable Spring Game I can remember watching. Part of that is due to the anticipation of the season. But more than that there was an atmosphere around the game that was just fun. The players looked like they were enjoying playing the game. That the players were enjoying themselves is big. We know that Lanning and the coaches mean business, this is not a program that is about "fun". This is a team that is going to be disciplined and focused. That the team can do that and enjoy it bodes well for the season.
  2. An epic come from behind win in the first game kept the Ducks from being swept at home by the frivolous felines from the Palouse. The pitchers are bailing water with sieves.
  3. I'm not calling for a Heisman campaign for DJ, but as Lanning says, "he, "could be one of the best players in the conference" And maybe not just in the conference. Oregon Football: DJ Johnson impresses coaches at spring game DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM 7 tackles, 5 TFL, and 4 sacks. DJ Johnson showed out and turned a number of heads at the Oregon spring game.
  4. Thanks for the WHIP clarification, Axel. It has been only recently that baseballers looked beyond ERA, Batting average to see what was actually happening, and of course it never should be RBI's!
  5. Oregon Spring Game: Dan Lanning offers injury updates following action DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM Oregon was without Byron Cardwell on Saturday, and Jackson Powers-Johnson left with a knee injury. Lanning gave an update...
  6. No argument with this. But, on some of the other thoughts, I'll politely disagree. Dixon didn't look ordinary in 2007 and Marcus never looked ordinary while he was at Oregon. As far as NFL careers? They have nothing to do with how a player performed in college. Even with the stats much lower back in the 70's, Dan Fouts wasn't projected as a sure fire NFL star. let alone a hall of Fame Quarterback. I'll also disagree about Chip's offense not averaging 50 PPG. As I've often told my Husky cousins, Oregon could have laid 70 on UW multiple times during the 12-0 streak if they wanted to. In those games, like so many others, Oregon routinely had 35-42 at halftime. It wasn't the offensive scheme that kept those teams from averaging 50 points per game.
  7. Spring Games don't do it for the Trojans fans, I doubt that Carroll's teams drew big numbers, this fan base is about W's, not the process to get them. When you're already in the Natty, who's gonna care about a practice game in April?
  8. A hit we didn't see but that I know is coming is Kyler Kasper and his 6'5, 200 lbs getting added to the passing game. Cota was very impressive, now imagine a defense covering Cota and Kasper on 3rd down? And this isn't to say that Cota and Kasper are only to be used like Stanford did in their Giraffe offense, Cota and Kasper, along with the rest of the receivers are all every down receivers, Oregon has a corps of Maehl's and Carrington's.
  9. The Dan Lanning Era's introduction to Oregon's fanbase is one to be excited about 247SPORTS.COM Minutes before kickoff at Autzen Stadium, Sauphia Lanning and her three sons were in an elevator riding to the Autzen Stadium...
  10. It feels like Seven will make a downfield block. Seven McGee feels the pressure of ‘De’Anthony Thomas 2.0’ comparisons DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM “It’s a lot of weight on my shoulders.” Seven McGee knows that fans want him to be De’Anthony Thomas 2.0 heading into the...
  11. Pac-12 Network gets it wrong again. WSU at Oregon baseball needs to be on the Network, the Softball games, as my mother taught me, "If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all"
