NCAA Tournament 2025 Open Games Thread
How far can Duke go without Connor Flagg? Apparently, the question doesn't need to be asked, Fladd missed the ACC Tournament, but he's ready to go against Mount Saint Mary's in today's first round game. I don't think Duke needs Flagg to win this game, so his ankle is probably okay. Should Duke get past Mount Saint Mary's, Flagg will be needed against Baylor in Rd.2.

Nate Bittle’s Potential Impact Could Decide the Outcome Between Oregon and Liberty in NCAA Tournament
Definitely against Liberty, but really every game, Bittle needs to be the focus of the offense. He can make 3's, but his, and Oregon's best advantage is to get the ball to him in the paint before a 3 is attempted.

Mens Basketball a No. 5 Seed in Seattle...
UNC, which should not even be in plays Ole Miss tomorrow. Can they count on Belichick to be there? He is busy.

Mens Basketball a No. 5 Seed in Seattle...
Not going well for our Dawgs brothers, 8 Gonzaga has a 60-43 lead over 9 Georgia, 12:40 left. 8/9 should be competitive games, but 9 Creighton buried 8 Louisville.

Mens Basketball a No. 5 Seed in Seattle...

Lupoi on Replacing All the Starters in Secondary
"Most returning starters" is one of the factors that always gets a lot of attention, usually good attention. But if the new guys are better, I'm fine with that.

Mens Basketball a No. 5 Seed in Seattle...
That is the question. Losing your star player is never good, especially when he's probably the POY. Duke always gets watched, this 1st round game is going to be the most interesting in a while.

Creighton gets Auburn. Louisville cut it to 14, 89-75 for a final, but it was more than that for a lot of the game.

Mens Basketball a No. 5 Seed in Seattle...
Oregon got hosed in the CFP. But Louisville got it even worse in the NCAA Tournament. Louisville finished No. 10 in the final AP Poll, and got an 8 seed, against 9, unranked, Creighton. The winner gets overall No.1, Auburn.

Lupoi on Losing the Rose Bowl: A Miscalculation in Preparation?
No doubt about this one. The Wisconsin win was good for meeting the challenge, handling adversity. But if Penn State and Oregon had switched places via the B1G Championship in the CFP? Absolutely yes!

Mens Basketball a No. 5 Seed in Seattle...
The tallest player to ever play at Oregon, for a short time, is Bol Bol, all 7'3 of him. Duke & Flagg are great, but my pick is Florida. The back court can shoot, all have handles, and are 6'4, 6'4, 6'5, 6'4, 6'2, 6'3, 6'4. Greedy, much!

Mens Basketball a No. 5 Seed in Seattle...
Nice pick, Connor, you'd be welcome at FishDuck! Oregon goes 2-0 vs Duke in the Sweet 16, but Alabama get revenge for the beating early in the season. It could happen.

B1G, SEC: Does Champions Week & 14-Team Playoff Field Work?
Yep, $$$vs. common sense, fairness. The idea of a CCG is ridiculous, nothing but a money grab. One team almost always wins the conference championship by their play during the season, giving a team that didn't play as well a 1 game chance to "win" the title is ridiculous. If two teams end up with the same record, that's what tie breakers are for. This also makes a lot of sense, but there's that $$$ again.
