  1. That is a glaring Omission.
  2. I'd love to hear from a Badger believer. Penn State, come on down! Minnesota, that will sting for a while, but the Golden Gophers played a great game. Northwestern, Illinois, Indiana, I'd love to hear a take on Cig. It is harder to remember all the teams in the B1G, having posts from their fans would make that easier.
  3. I do think he's right about TV being at an unprecedented level in sports now. It was the major factor in the demise of the Pac-12, whose identity to a lot of the country was "Pac-12 After Dark". ESPN, on it's ridiculous TV Reveal Show during the CFP pleads for chaos, for entertainment. Time slots are crucial for games, if it's inconvenient, even a true hardship on one of the teams, that's irrelevant. ESPN tried to whitewash the negative talk about the CFP, citing its "Blueblood Final 4". Unfortunately for them, the ratings were down. But, the format will be the same next season, and the "Reveal Show" will be entertaining as we all watch to see which teams end up in the coveted 5 and 6 seeds.
  4. It's not a great QB class, maybe Gabriel can go in the 6th round, that has worked out. I'm encouraged by some buzz around Tez, he's perfect for this time in the NFL. One of the teams that seems to be pointing for him is Denver. Imagine how many NFL fans haven't heard about the Bo-Tez connection?
  5. The Houston Astros stealing signs is by far the worst to me. The worst part is that the commissioner purposefully left the players out of the investigation, no punishment whatsoever, Altuve holding his jersey tight is an indelible stain on their "championships".
  6. Yeah, "poetic justice" still doesn't fit, but in 2014, osu2 did win with their 3rd string QB; they were spared "poetic justice" this time by the botched format benefitting the L's to Oregon and Michigan and making them champion instead of a 3 loss team.
  7. I agree that UM has looked bad during this whole process. As far as vacating wins? Taking them out of the books is real, but Ohio State didn't win the games now. Reggie Bush did win the Heisman, that apparently has been resolved now. Will UM still be the winningest?
  8. I think that's wrong too. In fact, I think the Baseball HOF is completely messed up, far too many inductees, and only 1 unanimous, certainly worthy, Mariano Rivera, Ichiro was just voted in, I vote short of unanimous. Willie Mays wasn't unanimous, Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, Sandy Koufax, Bob Gibson, and worse than that I think is the players who get in after numerous, sometimes 10 votes. There are currently 278 players, I think that's at least 100 too many.
  9. Again, who cares? 10-18 means you dominate the Pop Tart Bowl and other ones played in mid-December
  10. Interesting you say that, a few years ago, there was this guy who would show up on TV and radio touting his "foolproof" formula for betting, and seriously, it was "The team with the best players and coaches will most often win". As far as best teams, the Steelers in the 70's get my vote, at the time I was a Cowboys fan, I really didn't like it when they beat Dallas twice, by 4 points. But those teams were loaded, defense is practically all in the hall of fame, and the offense, Bradshaw is probably not even a Top 10, but I don't remember many missed passes or INT's and Stallworth & Swann, are my pick as No.1 WR's, and of course RB's, Rocky Blier and Franco Harris.
  11. Yeah, your dad and me would have definitely been on different sides in '72, I was cheering for "The Big Red Machine against Boston in '75.
  12. “Ohio State is a worthy champion,” McElroy stated, following the Buckeyes’ victory. “I think it’s even more impressive to think what this team had to overcome, and to know that had the four-team Playoff been in place, they would not have made it. It is poetic justice that the 12-team Playoff came to existence this year. “Think about how many times in the four-team Playoff era Ohio State was this close. Excuse me? It's time Ohio State won a championship???? What they had to overcome?
  13. It was universal, the only pushback was from ESPN, Herbie, "Look at the Final 4!". The ratings said a lot of people weren't impressed. That hurts ESPN, but not Commish's, even the B1G did alright, Osu2 and Penn State got the benefit, newcomer Oregon got hosed. Big 12 thought it was great.
  14. I'll have Danno and the Ducks No.1 until they're eliminated, Sark No.2, Kelly No.3, Freeman No.4, DeBoer No.5 Moore No.6, Franklin No.7.
  15. I always like playing the away game first, and UCLA has gone through more highs and lows than the Ducks have, Minnesota was a big B1G low. Everything about the team was its best in the tournament when they beat Alabama. The ebbs and flows are there. When the team starts out so great, the ebbs are harder to take. Hopefully, Angel & Bamba keep going and Bittle, Shelstad and the rest will join them in Pauley.
  16. I don't think that coach exists.
  17. Interesting bracket, Jon, lots of love for ASU at 4 without Skattebo, way to go NAVY at 12, Ducks look good at 7!
  18. Ducks drop to the 4 line in ESPN Bracketology and still in the West. No.16 is a little high, but this is when Altman's teams take off, and hopefully Minnesota was rock bottom.
  19. Good luck to Kobe, and thanks again to Boettcher for coming back to the Ducks instead of the misery that is minor league baseball.
  20. 1) What will Oregon’s record be and how far will they get in the playoffs? Hopefully 10-2 and the 8 seed. 2) Will there be a dominant team in college football? No. 3) What the heck will happen with Lincoln Riley and USC? I don't see much difference. 4) Will there be any changes to the playoff seedings and who deserves a first-round bye? Doesn't look like much will change next season. 5) How will the SEC “rebound” from having only three teams in the playoff? Maybe 4. 6) Will a team not from the SEC, B1G, or named Notre Dame make the semi-finals? Unlikely. 7) Will Michigan and Alabama bounce back? Michigan has a lot of $$ invested in their QB, will Alabama have a QB who fits with DeBoer? 😎 Will Dante Moore succeed at quarterback? I sure hope so. 9) Will the Ducks lose a coordinator? Maybe 2? I think they will both be here, 10) What is your gut feeling for 2025? 10-2 is the floor.
  21. The A's had a 3-peat, 72, -74, Reggie Jackson, Catfish Hunter, Vida Blue, Rollie Fingers, unfortunately, free agency broke them up, Jackson & Hunter both ended up on the Yankees. I lost interest in them after that, they'd have some success later, Rickey Henderson, Dave Stewart, Jose Canseco & Mark McGwire.
  22. I'm aware of that conflict, but I can't ever make a bet involving my team. I would have made some good $$$, if I had bet on my Oakland A's, '72, '73, '74.
  23. Not that I think unranked NC State is going to keep this going, but they lead No.2 Duke, 37-33 at halftime at Cameron Indoor, which maybe wild for this era, but has nothing on, "The Pit". The scoreboard isn't shaking at all. Duke wins, 74-64.
