  1. We all spend a lot of time here, and go through angst and sorrow, with enough exhilaration to make it worthwhile. But how did it come to be for you? I was heading towards being a Husky. But fortunately, my family left Seattle in 1966. It wasn't until '69 that I remember going to my first Ducks game in Autzen, where I watched Dan Fouts, and Super Soph, Bobby Moore, now Ahmad Rashad. He was born in Portland, but went to high school in Tacoma, and ended up at Oregon. My cousins, still stuck in Seattle, were enamored with Sonny Sixkiller, the Husky QB, from Ashland, Oregon. I remember my time in Jr. High and high school being in tense battles with Beaver fans in the early 70's. Me and my fellow Ducks got the best of them. All of this well before the internet of course. My first game in "The Pit" was in 1970, Oregon 78 UCLA 65. Steve Belko would have that season and the next, then some guy named Dick Harter showed up. We all know that the football years after Jerry Frei were pretty lean, Enright, Reid, but then came Rich Brooks. Thank goodness my family left Seattle. So, what route did you take to end up here?
  2. I agree Joshua, it was the right move. Oregon has a very tough schedule in 2022, starting with the "neutral" game against Georgia. If Thompson or Butterfield can beat Nix out, great. But having a veteran SEC QB, familiar with Dillingham, looks like a winner to me.
  3. The odds are against it. But Arizona has a good chance, along with Gonzaga, at least in the West. Troubling to see the DSEC becoming a basketball threat as well' Kentucky has been a Basketball blueblood for a long time. But this season Auburn is really good.
  4. Absolutely. There is no other mediocre D1 team that has the support that Washington does. The delusion of grandeur that fuels them is unequalled. 2-15 with Oregon, and still the tweet, talking about how the Huskies are an "all-time great program". An all- time great like Rob Schneider is an all-time actor
  5. There are a lot of things I would give up for $ 20 million, this especially. It just says to stop watching, sports are great on the radio. Now, would I give up my collection of Ronnie Lee memorabilia? NO
  6. Yep. The only option 70 miles from Eugene is a baseball stadium, the home of the Keizer Volcanoes, seats 4,254.
  7. Definitely a problem. The Final Four team had Dillon Brooks, Dylan Ennis, Tyler Dorsey, all players that not only wanted to take the shot but would make the shot. Pritchard was a freshman on that team and by the time he was a senior, took the shot, then next year, Duarte or Omoruyi took it. It was definitely a problem against Arizona to pass the ball directly to Richardson, the presumptive go to guy. 7 seconds was plenty of time to have forced Arizona to do more on defense than put their biggest player on Richardson and have him dribble the seconds away.
  8. This seems very plausible, and the only thing worse for Oregon in the Pac-12 with USC would be Oregon in a Pac-12 without USC.
  9. Okay, the cat relaxing on top is Oregon, and the annoying cat underneath is Washington.
  10. And this is coming from the "Voice of the SEC" Paul Finebaum: "We're stuck with the same Boring Tournament" Stephen Samma On3
  11. It wasn't just the Pac-12 media. Arizona was unranked before the season started. So far Arizona and Gonzaga are my best teams in the country.
  12. USC has done it for years with 55 for its star LB, Oregon might want to start thinking about that. But, as Zachary Neel DucksWire details in, Jahlil Florence Announces his Jersey Number ahead of Freshman Season with Ducks. 6 has been worn by some great Ducks.
  13. WBB: Ducks Make AP Poll Top 25 Return Despite Close Loss to Stanford MBB: Oregon's NCAA Resume' Moves up, Pac-12 Projections, and Oregon's up and down Play.
  14. This is what is so exciting for me. It was great watching Chip's offense. But I can hardly wait to see Oregon D wreaking Havoc on the field now. Three play drives. Now we'll have 3 and outs. The defenses used to have "injuries" to slow down the blur. What can they do to stop this?
  15. It's the only way. The problem I see with the Pac-12 vs the other conferences is what we've known for a long time. The SEC, B1G, Big12, ACC, all its fans, school Presidents care a lot more about college sports than do their counterparts in the Pac-12. For a while it didn't matter as much, and USC was in a position to where it could carry the conference. Then Chip arrived and Oregon became a Brand. But the SEC saw what was happening. College football was devolving into entertainment, and the money exploded. Not enough of the schools in the Pac-12 care as much about competing as do Oregon and USC. Nothing against Washington Coach DeBoer, but he's not Riley or Lanning.
  16. You do bring up a great point when you bring up how close this was to being a great couple of games for the Men's and Women's teams. Both outplayed their No.3 and No.2 ranked opponents for most of the games, had double digit leads. For most of the games both Oregon teams were outplaying their highly ranked opponents, looked like the top 10 teams they were expected to be at the start of the season. But at the end of both games, when it mattered the most, both Ducks teams, let the games get away. It was bad, but at least the Women beat Cal, while the Men lost to ASU.
  17. Exactly. Everybody knew that, except perhaps, Richardson.
