  1. Clearly having 64 teams instead 12 is a big difference. But, being No.1 in the basketball bracket is substantially superior to being a 5. In the football format, Oregon gets a bye, just like 2,3 & 4 do. While No.5 gets to host a home game against the No.12 team, while No.1's first game will be the winner of 8/9. There are definite advantages to being No.5.
  2. There was no doubt about it, not even Joey Galloway, from Ohio State, had a problem with it. College Football Playoff: 5 Winners and losers from the first rankings FTW.USATODAY.COM The first CFP rankings went great for Oregon and the SEC
  3. Well, that Husky fan is a sciolist.
  4. There are only a couple elite programs on the West Coast now (UW and Oregon) and with USC in turmoil it should greatly help recruiting.
  5. Rece Davis: "I like Will Howard as a young man, and I think he's a good quarterback," Davis said. "But if it comes down to who's gonna make a play—Will Howard or Cam Ward, Will Howard or Dillon Gabriel, Will Howard or even Quinn Ewers... I'm not sure I'd take him over any of those guys to make that play."
  6. First, there wasn't any need for changing anything, now the change that is made, won't change anything. QB change a desperate attempt from USC HC Lincoln Riley to salvage lost season WWW.YARDBARKER.COM USC head coach Lincoln Riley found a scapegoat for the Trojans' frustrating first year as a Big Ten conference member.
  7. So far, parity in the B1G is 3 deep, 4 I guess if Penn State has to be included. SEC has 5, Georgia, Texas, ATM, Tennessee & apparently the winner of Alabama -LSU this Saturday. Michigan & Washington should improve in time for the 16 team format,
  8. Couldn't agree more. Even if tOSU beats Indy soundly, which I don't see happening, I'll go with beating the Buckeyes again, rather than facing Indy in their dream season.
  9. It's a bit pathetic I know, but after Full of KLATT said he finally thought that Oregon would cover at Michigan I really wanted them to, and they wouldn't have if the Ducks had taken a knee. I also liked it because as Kamikaze pointed out in another post, running up the middle is how it's done in the B1G.
  10. I get it. and I guess PSU is mediocre at best, but they're our mediocre now, and maybe Indy is so good it doesn't matter who they're playing.
  11. Great start, and DA says the same thing after every game since he's been at Oregon. It's a huge disappointment that Dante wasn't allowed to stay. But this year's Ducks can go deep in March Madness.
  12. Last season Michigan didn't pass very much either. But they went undefeated all the way to the Natty, where they beat UW, a team that could pass, So, 1 dimensional football can win. Indiana is running and passing away from everybody they've played this season, but they haven't played a team as good as Michigan yet. Penn State is 7-1. But that feeble 4 down fail at the end of the game against tOSU says that they're actually closer to the top 3 in the B1G and will be tested by UW this week.
  13. There are delusions and there are delusions. It's one thing for media honks to say, "USC is 5 games from being undefeated" or fans. But when the coach says that, and doubles down with, "There's no need to change anything!", there's a problem. USC and Michigan State are both 4-5, change is coming in East Lansing. Coaches with ties to Oregon have been great at USC. Carroll won, then got outta there fast! It doesn't look like Cignetti will discard what he's building at IU to manage the "Little Shop of Horrors" that is USC football.
  14. Okay!!! All signs pointing for this to be the first of many great seasons for OBD!!! Give Tez time to get back, more PT for Holden, Lowe, Dickey? Get even more out of the TE's? Absolutely hope that Harper is on the same timeline!!! The Ducks are gonna do something B1G!
  15. The Williams hype was vintage USC. ""He's going to be the best 1st year quarterback ever! The Bears drafted Rome Odundze. Who could stop a Trojan throwing to a Husky? Everybody. Yes, Payton's experiment with Russell Wilson was a total failure from the start. But Nix and Payton works, just like Harbaugh & Herbert.
  16. It'll be Todd Blackledge time again. Game time announced for No. 1 Oregon vs. Wisconsin in Week 12 SPORTS.YAHOO.COM The Oregon Ducks Week 12 game against the Wisconsin Badgers will take place in the prime time window on NBC.
  17. So far, Bo Nix > Caleb Williams
  18. No doubt. But as you noted, there's so much depth and talent that as big a loss Tez will be, the offense will keep on rolling. Holden, Stewart, Lowe, another pass or two to Ferg, or Herbert or Sadiq, maybe Whittington!
  19. What we learned is that the B1G isn't all that big. As far as Showtime! It's Oregon and Indiana. Ohio State and Penn State got B1G game treatment, but compared to tOSU @ Oregon it was Jaws 3. 18 teams in the B1G, but there was a lot more depth in the Pac-12. No wonder a B1G Power Ranking is as interesting as an insurance brochure, after the Top 3, it doesn't matter. Besides Lanning and Cignetti do any of the other coaches look like they're having any fun at all? The Oregon players would run through a wall for Lanning, though I suspect Stein would scheme up something to go around it, Penn State is so slow with their ground game, it would just be, thud and stop. The Pac-12 was dying, now Oregon is bringing life support to the B1G.
  20. That is exactly what it was. No tricks, no finesse, that was Oregon playing B1G football in "The Big House."
  21. I do too. Oregon was tOSU's first test after a 3 non-con cupcakes, Indiana hasn't played anybody in 9 games. In the other game, there are all the ingredients of an upset; Penn State just lost a big emotion game, UW just got a big B1G win, going East isn't as hard as going West, and at best, Penn State's offense is plodding and predictable.
  22. USC is 5 losses from being undefeated.
  23. Miami is playing with fire, when will it get burnt? Don't let the 22-point win fool you, No. 5 Miami was in deep trouble at one point against Duke. That's the fourth time in its last five games that it has trailed or been on the verge of an upset. That kind of play is not sustainable for a prospective conference champion at this stage in the season.
  24. Replays showed that the ball may have hit the turf, which Michigan alumnus and longtime sportscaster Rich Eisen believes was a cut-and-dry case of an incorrect ruling by the game's officials. "Oregon scores a TD CBS shows a replay of the ball being dropped," Eisen wrote. "But not until after the extra point. Oh and the B1G ref who called it a TD was looking right at it. "'Too late now,' says Gary Danielson. Come on, everybody."
  25. Isn't it a complete disservice that Harper and other linemen are excluded from the "Skill Player" label?
