ESPN Calls Oregon Ducks 'Least Interesting' Team After 12-0 Season?
30Duck replied to NJDuck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I agree. Alabama has been interesting this season. We discussed it here weeks ago, Oregon isn't getting talked about! That's great. "Oregon won again. Still unanimous No.1. Moving on" No chaos, except manufactured clickbait about Lanning leaving. Hopefully OBD stay boring for a long time. -
Absolutely, Day is safe for sure now.

Could happen. Warren is a weapon for Penn State. But the Ducks have Tez, Stewart, Jones, Ferguson, Sadiq, Lowe, Whitttington, Holden. Eventually, Penn State won't hold up.

Time to For the Big Ten to Adopt Las Vegas
30Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
As the saying goes, "What happens in Indianapolis stays in Indianapolis." That does sound ridiculous and as you say, Darren, it would be if the game isn't moved to Las Vegas in 2029. The Rose Bowl too, makes sense. B1G teams traditionally had no problem getting there when it was B1G vs Pac-8, 10, 12. There's an episode of M*A*S*H when Radar is playing records, and Col. Potter insists he play "Sentimental Journey" by Doris Day, over and over and over. He plays it so many times that even Potter can't take it anymore. The memory of The Pick will stay with us forever, perhaps we should keep it there. -
Bo and the Broncos Beat Jameis and the Browns 41-32
30Duck replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Payton knew Bo was his guy early and he was right. In Payton's system, Bo hasn't looked like a rookie since the 3rd game of the season. Winston threw for 496 yards, and 6 touchdowns, 2 of them for the Broncos. One of them as he had the Browns set to kick the go ahead field goal in the final minutes. -

It certainly wasn't a great game for the highly ranked Broncos defense, but it's going to be a great rivaly between Justin's Chargers and Bo's Broncos! -
A Modest, In-Advance Defense of the Playoff Committee
30Duck replied to jrw's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I realize this goes completely against what ESPN is hoping for with the weekly Rankins Show, CHAOS!!! They love it. I on the other hand would be just fine if the Committee did, as Jon Joseph has suggested, reveal the criteria they use, though the results indicate so far, their criteria is W's & L's. The best thing would be to just do as "March Madness" does and wait until Selection Sunday to reveal the bracket. -

In other, hardly breaking news, Cowherd still has osu2 & Texas in the Championship Game. Dismantle, Annihilate, Vaporize Penn State! -

QUAAACK! Rivals 4-Star LB Flips from Miami to Oregon!

Nix at Oregon? Sounds good. -
Agree with everything. Alabama went cold at a great time for the Ducks, as the season goes it happens. Shelstad has had some clutch time shots so far, but I agree that he has a lot of room to get better, with accuracy and shot selection. We aren't really getting any, "take it to the rim" from the guards.
-
I think the 3 point shooting situation will improve, they didn't just fire them up early against Alabama, who, came back because a guy who had missed all his 3 point attempts before the game against the Ducks all of a sudden couldn't miss. For some reason guarding the 3 has always been a deficiency in Altman's D. OI agree about the Prima Donna sitch for USC, who the Ducks open against @ USC Wednesday night, then host UCLA Sunday afternoon.

This one could have gone either way, but Jameis threw a pick-6 to wrap it up for the Broncos. Ja'Quan McMillian seals a Broncos win with clutch pick-six - ESPN Video WWW.ESPN.COM Ja'Quan McMillian makes a leaping interception and runs it back to slam the door on the Browns.

A Modest, In-Advance Defense of the Playoff Committee
30Duck replied to jrw's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Oregon is No.1, they don't have a loss, the Committee gets this right. I'm not a college football expert either, but for starters, I'd see that Georgia beat Texas, 30-15, in Texas. I would see that Texas does have 1 more L than Texas does. But I would notice that possibly the much more difficult schedule Georgia went through, compared to the Texas navigated, could have something to do with it, and have Georgia above Texas. Miami is taking care of themselves. -
After Oregon beats Penn State to win the conference championship and get a banner! It will have beaten Penn State, osu2, Michigan, Michigan State, Illinois and Wisconsin, the bigs of the B1G, in the same season.
-
Probably not No.1, yet. On the surface when looking at Oregon’s resume compared to the rest of the country, they should be ranked in the top ten. The only teams that are also undefeated with the quality of wins that Oregon has are teams like No. 4 Auburn, No. 1 Kansas, No. 8 Kentucky, No. 7 Tennessee, and No. 10 Marquette. However, with rankings, there are perceptions of teams given before the season starts and Oregon was not thought to be a top-25 team. Even after their 5-0 start, they were still unranked. They showed the country that they are without a doubt a top-25 team after beating Alabama and winning the Players Era Festival. Oregon will likely be ranked in the No. 12 to No. 17 range when Monday’s rankings come out.

Call it the," Ow Bowl"

You know, we should have seen this coming. The Committee struggled with the 4 team format. It can't be a surprise that 12 teams is a unwieldy mess. Between making sure to keep the "favored" teams in the conversation and ignoring SOR, this is what we have. The Committee definitely didn't expect Oregon to be No.1, so the No.1 vs No.5 issue isn't a conspiracy, just something Oregon will have to get through before it's corrected next year.

Gotta love the ESPM analytics. I am completely lost on what data has Penn State as the favorite?

Oregon Football: Bryce Bullies the Big Ten
30Duck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
It looks like the Buck- were expecting to play the Ducks on Saturday too. But enough about them. James Jordan will definitely be getting attention from the NFL when Draft times comes around. He's getting it from every coaching staff the Ducks have faced this season and hit hasn't mattered. Bryce Boetttcher? Can't say or write enough about him. Not only does he put the fight in the "Fighting Ducks defense, he leads the team in tackles!. I'm sure that he'll meet Tyler Warren often on Saturday. -
Kirby suggested it, and we all have a good idea that while "the committee is watching every game, cheering the explosive plays." their scrutiny goes as deep as the final score.
-
Their SOS is embarrassing. When they played @ Michigan in the 2nd week of the season, the 1-0 defending champions were ranked. Following Michigan, Texas played, UTSA, ULM, Mississippi St. and Oklahoma, before being rolled by Georgia.
