  1. The GRIFT that keeps on giving...
  2. Deion has always been in the "look at ME" class, IMO. Given his abilities, it shouldn't have been surprising in his youth, but most of us choose to grow beyond that at some point. Not sure Neon will ever arrive at that juncture.
  3. My son was a very good soccer player as a youth. His hs school coach once told me that he loved coaching the kid but it wasn't his innate ability that got the coaches attention. He told me that the thing my boy did better than nearly every other player this coach had ever had was LISTEN, and APPLY the information he was given, in the moment, i.e.: The ability to process and use new information, correctly and willingly. Not every kid, at any level, has that.
  4. Fair enough, Charles. You've put enough blood, sweat, and tears (figuratively, and literally), for all of us to show some respect and appreciation. Hopefully, the new system will help alleviate some of the stress we so generously contribute to your daily walk! BTW, this is the ONLY Duck forum I actively participate in, and has been for well over a year. I've personally witnessed some of the abuse you have been subjected to elsewhere in the past, and found it unwarranted for any reason. This is your house, built with your own hands. You deserve to enjoy the fruits of your labors. Take care, my friend!
  5. A catch and (save the tumble apre') rumble into the end zone would easily be an upgrade...
  6. "So you're saying, there's a chance?" Here's hoping OBD can grab the bull by the horns and keep the offensive stampede thundering along... With finesse. Wouldn't take a huge improvement on D to make Oregon's offense look even better.
  7. My mother in law goes in to hyperdrive on my grandkids over stuff that is as mild as dang it... If you think this forum is sensitive, I know a 91 year old that would make you question if she's reading minds or something!
  8. Ataway, PD, Ataway!
  9. Not throwing shade, but regardless of the star rating, observation suggests that some of these guys are going to be "addition by subtraction". Lots of potential, but lacking productivity or, in some cases, self control at critical junctures.
  10. That's what happens when you sign the biggest baddest media contract... their is a vested interest in propping up and selling the perceived/desired result.
  11. Almost as good as the laugh I had at USC's expense Friday night!
  12. Simply solidify LB and D Line production, and Oregon could be the team winning on a scoop and score, again! I'll always love the Ducks. There was a time in my youth when I found ways to get into Autzen for free, most game days (I did odd jobs for several season ticket holders, and it was better than what they paid me in cash, as far as my buddies and I were concerned!). The one guy had season tix on the third row of the forty yard line... I didn't get those often, but it was worth the wait! He kept those active from Opening day in 1967 (I graduated HS in 1971) until my son was earning the same seats from the guy in the mid 90's. I miss those days!
  13. I'm sorry... After watching Riley land in the perfect storm for a first year coach at USC (No Oregon or Washington, and winning 3 other games by dumb luck AND the skin of their teeth) I find it hard to justify the A- grade he received.
  14. The PAC will almost certainly vote for CW, because he has media cred, like a lot of other people who get hyped without actually backing it up with productivity.
  15. Helf may never coach again... The sour taste in the back of his throat from the firing by his dream school will likely never go away. I've always felt his excess loyalty to the old guard, coupled with an archaic recruiting style, were his nemesis. Riley definitely intrigues me. I'm just hoping Lanning has a hard drive overflowing with contacts waiting to be happened.
  16. Only thing sweeter would have been to see OBD throwing the dirt on USC grave...
  17. Brady had honestly not been on my radar, but would certainly be an intriguing possibility.
  18. Go back and look at Chip Kelly's Ducks... Those teams kept everyone guessing when it came to PAT situations. Even more so, check out the games when Oregon almost exclusively employed some QB (His name was Nate Costa, for those history buffs among us.) as the holder for PAT situations... It was worth the wait, when he came off the turf with the ball in his hands. He also had one of the most awesome recoveries on a bad PAT snap many of us have ever seen. "In week 12 of the 2010 season, he was named the Pac-10 Special Teams Player of the Week. In a game against the Arizona Wildcats, Oregon needed a win to keep their Rose Bowl hopes alive. The Ducks mounted a comeback and scored a touchdown to bring the game within 1 point. The snap on the extra point was bad, but Costa recovered quickly and got the ball placed, allowing Morgan Flint to convert the game-tying kick. The Ducks won in overtime. Costa was the first player to ever win the award solely for his work as a holder." (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nate_Costa) Had that young man's knees been healthy the season Dixon's own knee buckled, it might have altered Oregon's entire season. Sadly, he was alreay rehabbing. Need I say, electric? He was also a very serviceable backup, when the game dictated the need (Assuming, of course, his knee didn't buckle! That young man was snakebit!).
  19. I'm disappointed Bo's injury took the wind out of OBD's sails. I really had no expectations entering this season beyond the hope that we would find a road back to the upper deck. How close we came. I hate losing to the fuskies and dinglebeevers ad much as anyone, but as the season progressed, the opportunity to crush the Toejams dreams of glory rose in my heart. That's probably my main disappointment, beyond the lack of a serviceable backup QB. Would have been nice to have a shot at the playoffs, but I really don't believe OBD were ready.
  20. Funny... I'v e heard fans somewhat closer to home make the same type of comment at times. It is amazeballs how entitled team supporters of certain institutions closer to the eastern seaboard can be. Wonder if tOSu can lure urb outa the booth? Methinks they deserve each other.
  21. Oregon is obviously losing a few decent players to the portal (Cardwell?Thornton), in addition to the departure of the OC. That doesn't denote a, moment. This could be an exciting transition to the next stage of OBD!
  22. Given the lack of readiness shown at the backup QB position, I am indeed disappointed the Ducks failed to step up when Bo went down. I am not remotely close to turning my back on this team. Bo getting injured was devastating in the short term (As well as the short game ). The play calling looked distracted (disconnected?), late in the season... That hurt, especially once Bo went down. I believe DL and associates will take this as a growth/wake up mometn and be better prepared in the future. Yes, the D needs to improve. The offense is a work in progress, pending the arrival of a new OC. I've seen enough potential that I'm ready to get on board for the next run. Are you?
