  1. I have had dogs my entire life which means I have faced these tough decision multiple times. The first few were the hardest and I waited too long. Though no easier, the later decisions were made with the dog's comfort in the forefront of the timing. The last time I had a vet tech in an emergency clinic tell me that the hardest decision was the best for my dog. I will never forget what she told me: "We don't owe our pets eternal life, simply the best possible life every day they are with us." As with so many things in life, it's about making the most of every day we have.
  2. Any chance we will see more TE screen play to replace Tez's short route game with more medium and deep balls to the wideouts?
  3. Another difference this season is quality depth. O line depth spooks me a bit if we take another injury hit....but otherwise, we have tested 2 deep in each unit with some 3 deep. Last year the "middle eight minutes" was a mantra and team delivered. This year the formula seems to be a brute force first half to build a cushion and then rope-a-dope the 3rd quarter to react to halftime adjustments, drain clock and slow bleed the opponent so the 4th quarter is surrender time. Or as my local ophiologist said, the Ducks first strike like an Elapidae, then squeeze like a Boidae
  4. Jerry Jones and Deion Sanders truly deserve each other
  5. His point about Buckeye fan asininity potentially causing recruits to reconsider the school is amazing to consider. I hope we don't cultivate a similar 15% of our fanbase
  6. Wait....I thought Alex Grinch was the problem?
  7. Of the two teams, arguably, Oregon has more room to improve. I think we took their best shot. In a rematch, with Burch, Howard will have even less time for routes to develop.
  8. In the Pac-12, that PI call would have been automatic. B1G refs seem to swallow the whistle more. I prefer the B1G option.
  9. According to Brock Huard and Jason Bennetti, Tez is an NFL prospect who will challenge NFL LB'ers with his elusive ability to get open. I hope Stewart wasn't hurt on the end zone throw...
  10. I read a lot of discontent with the offense. I am no expert. Replacing JPJ, Bo Nix and Bucky Irving has a lot to do with any perceived drop-off doesn't it? Plus, a possible 16-game season in a more difficult conference. Pacing the playbook and utilizing roster depth were issues Dan identified in the off-season when talking with NFL coaches about these transitions. Another view is that the Ducks are strengthening depth, connection and technique by limiting the offense against lesser competition. Time will tell, but I find this perspective as valid as the Chicken Little version right now.
  11. I am over my Mariø hate since we traded up. Cam Ward may make his long-term regime imminent, but he is a once in a lifetime talent (see: Michael Penix) and will represent peak-Hurricane in the Cristobal era.
  12. In my hood, it's Tryon Creek Bar & Grill.....Burlingame. Or Hanko's in Mountain Park. Beneficial pours is all I'm sayin'
  13. If AC/DC is the choice, then Hells Bells seems like a good choice?
  14. I share your biorhythms, Annie. I usually record these games and get up Sunday morning to watch before the NFL games start. It has the added advantage that in the event we lose (last year, UW) I can delay the torture indefinitely.
  15. If we have to do this in Football every year, then if I am Mullens, I refuse to play in Corvallis ever again. You want it, come to Autzen.
  16. I am not even a "singer in a rock-n-roll band" so take my thoughts with a ton of salt.....but, sitting at home, that sun angle looked brutal. A couple of close-ups of DG during the quarter the Ducks were driving to the west, showed him squinting and blocking the sun with his extended hand between plays.
  17. Memo to Rob Mullens: Call Southern Oregon University and schedule them in Week 10 every year. Also known as the Crimson Tide's Directional State University late season "bye" week to heal up for the stretch run strategy.
  18. I was gutted when Pre died. Today feels the same. Though Bill's record-setting days were over, unlike Pre's, he was living his best life as an elder statesman and broadcaster. My two childhood heroes gone. I ran track and played basketball because of those two athletes. Bill turned me into a Deadhead too. It all rolls into one.....
  19. I hope we can start gearing up our shipbuilding capacity once again......what a wonderful addition to the fleet!
  20. Nothing about this is surprising to me. Feel badly for the victim and hope he gets paid. Assault someone, blame them and then blow off court thinking there won't be consequences? Character counts.
