  1. Former Oregon women's softball coach, Mike White, now the Head Coach at Texas was ejected from a game last month in the BIG12 conference tournament during a game against Oklahoma State. White, before leaving the playing field, raised his arm and roundly saluted the fans and officials giving them an obscene gesture (the bird). White was reprimanded by the league office. The episode was replayed this afternoon by ESPN during its telecast of the Texas versus OK State game as White was coaching Texas.
  2. The Ducks are loaded when it comes to President Schill, AD Mullens and staff, boosters, and the football operations and coaching staff. UO Football is commited to winning. None of us knows how the new era of NIL, the transfer portal and college football alignments and supervision will play out over the coming years. Right now recruiting, especially QB recruiting of 5-star talent, is wide open. NIL money will likely influence the final destination of some top QB's. I am comfortable now that the UO football leadership will lead the nation as an elite program by making the necessary adjustments to recruit the talent needed to win at the elite level. It is not clear exactly what that will take as the environment is dynamic and in flux. Factors external to the team such as conference alignments, media contracts with the resulting income, and the goverance of college football play into the futures of QB recruiting and NIL. One sure thing is that the Supreme Court's decision opening the compensation of NCAA athletes results in long-term changes resembling the compensation of professional athletes. The direction has been set. How this plays out is yet to be seen.
  3. Former Ducks golfer Aaron Wise finished in second place at the PGA's Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village hosted by Jack Nicholas. Wise rallied within two on the back nine before Billy Horschel eagled to seal the deal. Wise collected $1.3M for his finish of (-9).
  4. Payton Pritchard contributed to the Celt's Game 1 win, coming off the bench logging 16 minutes, 8 points on 75% 3 of 4 FG shooting, 6 rebounds, with 2 Assists.
  5. Awesome scheduling. Colonial Life Arena in Columbia sells out. The Matt should too, with such a storied team and Dawn Staley in Eugene. Fighting Gamecocks versus Fighting Ducks will be something to quack about. Go Ducks!

  7. Nix has a wealth of QB mentoring. Who, but Bo Nix, can say they have worked under Chad Morris, Mike Bobo, and Kenny Dillingham? I'm expecting Bo to be his best-ever this season as a Duck. Go Bo! Go Ducks!!
  8. BO NIX! Take it to the bank. This year he's going to shine.
  9. 14 points, 5 Rebounds, 3 Assists in 17 minutes on 5 of 7 shooting. That is a solid contribution off the bench in a big do or die playoff game! Go Pritch!!
  10. Mostly casual since the "Student Body Right". "Student Body Left". Tailback U up the middle days of John Robinson. The next few years will be interesting with a remake at the top in the PAC.
  11. Very cool. Wishing you both and long and healthy life together. A new Duck added to the flock.

  13. Say it's so, 30Duck.
  14. Passing downfield also stretches the defense making the running game potent. The high number of runs between the tackles made the Ducks easier to defend due to predictabilty.
  15. Recruits eyeing Coach Lanning should be attracted to not only "coached a national champion", but, "record five first rounders to NFL" - the most ever.
  16. Related: Notre Dame AD Swarbrick Sees Total Division I Realignment as ‘Inevitable’ WWW.SI.COM Wholesale change is unavoidable in college athletics. The Fighting Irish athletic director thinks a total realignment of Division I is coming with it. It's time to rethink the role of NCAA president, who is qualified to lead it THEATHLETIC.COM Mark Emmert and other former university presidents have failed. It's time to think outside the box for his replacement.
  17. I made a long drive today while listening to hours of ESPNU on Sirius. I wish I could credit the speakers, but I cannot remember their names. Some things I remember them saying are: - All football fans should celebrate today. "I feel like we should all be like The Munchkins - running around today singing Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead. - College football is undoutedly moving to a premier league and new structures for the rest. They talked about how such an arrangement would effect programs and fans at schools like Memphis that will be left out of the top tier. Notre Dame AD Jack Swarbrick said this week that a break up and restructuring of Division I "is inevitable". - In another segment it was suggested that two names being tossed around to replace Emmert are Jack Swarbrick or Greg Sankey. I cannot fathom either of them being interested in the position. Can you imagine Greg Sankey coordinating rules revisions of college football? The PAC12 would fare well under Sankey.
  18. - Some of the transfers in will help this team - The QB's have talent and one or more will take charge by mid season - The offense will be fun to watch this season and beyond - The RB's are going to produce good stats this season - The game was fairly clean of mistakes for a Spring Game - Thornton and Cota looked good. Franklin flashed some potential - LB's look good and will be a strength It's a long time until September 3rd, but it will come quickly.
  19. 42,000 announced. Probably generous.
  20. Great recruiting fodder. Nice timing. Go Thibs. Go Ducks.
  21. It will be great when Oregon becomes the standard that other teams dream of. Go Ducks.
