  1. AB's pretty much unflappable. He plays calm and under control. So far, this team can count on him to lead in the 4th quarter. It may not be perfect but his 9-1 record as the starter speaks volumes. It's scary that he could get hurt and the end result of the season could change in an instant. However the next man will step-up. Go thru a learning curve. Good or bad..... I hope AB stays healthy, keeps improving and we see him start 5 more football games. It is a great thing if all 3 freshmen QB's on the roster can redshirt this year. If AB makes that possible it will be another gift he provides the program. All in all this young man made a great choice to transfer to Oregon. I for one am thankful. 1-0 this week.
  2. It's easy to see that the receiver room could be frustrated. Their dreams of greatness drive their work ethic. We see them blocking, blocking and blocking. They are part of the success of the running game. All that work for just 1 or 2 touches a game. Or no touches? The players focused on team and winning will stay. The P12 Championships and New Years 6 Bowl games are some of the rewards...... Along with whatever they make of a great education opportunity. Those players driven by their personal or individual goals may hit the portal. And that's really okay. Their college opportunity is short and I will always respect the choices they make. What is even better is that MC will support their choices too....
  3. In a game that only requires that the ball break the plain of the goal line then 3 cameras should be required on each goal line. One on each side of the field and one on top. Should be part of all up coming TV negotiations. Not sure weather these cameras can be remotely operated or must have a camera man. Either way they are expensive, very expensive. IMHO, each P5 school should make the investment and install those types of cameras. They will pay for themselves. Imagine what it could have cost Oregon and P12 members if that call took them out of the playoffs Either 4 or 6 million divided between 12 teams, potentially lost. Just because ESPN went cheap and the P12 has weak officiating. Stop talking about the P12 being big time football and act like it is. ESPN stop talking about being the world wide leader of sports and act like it.
  4. I wish someone in the P12 South would step up. Imagine the P12 Championship game could have a 4 or even 5 loss team. Ridiculous. Get your teams better prepared. Stop losing nonconference games to Group of 5 or FBS schools. Man up and take pride. If Ducks go to the espn cash cow invitational then the P12 representative to the RB could be a 3,4, or even 5 loss team. Unacceptable.. .... Why do these schools play Oregon tough and then get handled by lesser opponents. Wait it's obvious some of the P12 schools might be the lesser opponents.
  5. We can all feel confident that multiple schools, including those with academic prowess, will be trying to raid the Duck coaching cookie jar. It's inevitable. The end result of success. Saban deals with this annually. MC has already experienced this My concern is a one year automatic extension is just a formality. When and if MC and his staff 3-peat, he best end up being the highest paid coach in the P12. Why? Because other schools will have no qualms making him the highest paid coach in their league. Let's sort that out after we have 5 more 1-0 seasons this year......
  6. Going to be a crowded room if Verdell and Dye stay for another season. I believe they have one more season available. What a problem to have....... Some may transfer out to get playing time. Hopefully they consider that other teams don't have holes you can drive a car through and convoys of road graders blocking down field. Go Ducks....
  7. Consider this: It's all based on eyeballs. About 3/4th of the nation lives in the EST and CST zones. Those football fans are glued to their TV sets, watching the games that are important to them. Those games start and are played between Noon EST and up until 7:30 EST. Those fans have little or no interest in west coast games. They watch their teams and conference foes. However, they are used to bigtime match ups at 7:30 EST or 4:30 PST. Their games are done or supposed to be done. ESPN/ABC extra commercials run about 4 hours. 7:30 EST or 4:30 PST is the glamor game of the week. It comes with the territory of being in the national conversation. AAC, ACC, SEC, BIG10, BIG 12, MWC and PAC12 fans watch those games. It's a relevant game with national interest. Go Ducks. Beat the Utes. 1-0 Big stage for big time teams with big time players. The coaches and players have earned this exposure. Make us fans happy and proud.
  8. So much fun to see the O Line, TE and bevy of receivers executing the the run game Making their blocking assignments at the line, the second level and building a convoy to a first down or TD. Even for the PC, it will be difficult to ignore back to back 300 plus yards of rushing. That's dominance. Since the Stanford loss only the Oregon offense has stopped the Oregon offense. Fortunately they have overcome their penalties and turnovers to win. Can't wait to see a complete clean game against the Utes. 1-0....
  9. It is difficult to watch a game on any ESPN channel or ABC. Those 4 minute commercial breaks destroy the flow of the game. To break away on such a critical review is classless. As a fan 9-1 has such a sweet sound to it. But the focus by MC, his staff and the players to go 1-0 is paying off. Thankful the fans were really into this game. Young 4/ 5 star recruits and their parents feel the energy generated. Don't think they are not caught up in that excitement Then hungry to feel those fans cheer for them as they envision their time on the field. Go Ducks. Beat the Utes. 1-0.....
  10. Enjoying the defensive in game adjustments by TD and his troops. The kittens O had no answer in the 2nd half. In retrospect the kittens D had no answer either. Great team effort in all 3 phases. Enjoy the victory Ducks. It's a new season this week. Beat the Utes. 1-0......
  11. Chicoduck1 Nice observations and analysis. Cardwell will be a joy to watch the next few years. Exciting times ahead for this young man. Especially excited to see all the solid down field blocking. When the O gets the edge it's off to the races. Go Ducks. It's a new season this week. Beat the Utes. 1-0
  12. Goodness, that's just something I cannot cope with...... I guess there will be wailing and the gnashing of teeth. Whatever was eaten for dinner will not stay down. No joy in mudville tonight.... Snap out of it...... Go Ducks. 1-0
  13. Well done 30duck........ Hope this is the first of the next 6 games that this gelling defense causes extreme chaos for the Duck opponent. Turnovers by the Cougars are why they are only averaging around 25 points a game. Let's go D, get after these guys. A dominant, turnover causing Oregon D can take this team to the promised land. As long as the bone heads on offense stop the self inflicted penalties. Don't just limit them, stop them..... It's game 10 of the season..... Go Ducks 1-0 Is it tonight, yet?
  14. Confused Yes Oregon is a brand for sure. Easier to recruit too along with USC and the school of prowess. It doesn't get any better than recruiting to Alabama. And MC took full advantage of what was at hand. IMHO, MC would do well recruiting to Arizona and Oregon State. Maybe not very well in the beginning but he would expand their foot print. I base this premise based upon the fact that MC, while at FIU, recruited their first ever ESPN300 player. Even after a one win season. Took the youngster right out of FSU, Florida and Miami's back yard. If MC were to take another job after this season it won't be jumping ship. More like leading a caravan of armored money trucks out of Eugene. I think MC wants that Georgia game. He wants it bad. Programs that van be tOsu and Georgia are big tome.
  15. Ducks 37-35. 2,1, 178 Go Ducks. Beat those pesky kittens and go 1-0. I only have 1 nerve left and for the last 6 games the kittens have been fierce each time.
  16. That will take a set of big ones from one strong leader in the room. It is doable...... You are correct that other networks would want in. Part of millions is simply better than watching it on their tv. More money for everyone. The SEC titans would gladly keep all the money in houTV. Then someone with bigger ones would have their champion play the Rose Champion. Too much money to ignore Brilliance, sheer brilliance. WW2
  17. For all of us, the choices and decisions we make lay the blue print for our lives. The actions we take from those decisions lay the footer and foundation for living those lives. Good or bad we write our story. Other's stories can and will criss cross or parallel ours. Consider these choices AD at FIU determines that Coach MC had the program headed in wrong direction. (maybe he listened to boosters and fans) Within weeks of being fired Coach Saban, yeah that Saban, hires and tutors a young MC. 2015 National Recruiter of the Year The snake lures MC to Oregon. For some reason MC chooses to leave Bama and come to Oregon. The snake chooses to follow his dream. Great choice........ Thankfully a large group of Oregon players, some currently in the NFL, make the choice to talk to Oregon AD to strongly recommend MC as HC. AD wisely makes the choice to make MC the HC. Multiple 4 and 5 stars make the choice to come to Oregon. MC makes the choice to hire JM and TD. They choose to come to Oregon. Footer, foundation laid, from those choices the Oregon story continues to be written. Go Ducks. Make good choices against the Cougs. Go 1-0.
  18. 33-11 Back to back P-12 Championships 3-peat P-12 Top Receuting Classes Up grades at OC and DC Only Oregon coach with a won over tOSU and at The shoe And maybe much more to come in the next 3 games. Sure love the upward trajectory of the Ducks program. Sure beats where it was headed on 2016 and 2017. His name is Mario Cristobal, Oregon Duck Football HC. Pay the man for his performance. The suitor list will be long and stuffed with cash. Go Ducks.
  19. Great topic and many great thoughts, opinions and comments. A lot to consider and digest, for sure. I am not as concerned about how MC has/is reshaping the P12. My concern is how other schools, with deep pockets, view how MC reshaped the direction of the Ducks? More importantly, if they feel he can reshape their. culture and direction? I don't think they see a lack of coaching. When MC puts his finishing stamp on this season, consider what other schools would like 3 conference championships in a row. Three New Years Six bowls. Etc, etc, etc..... They see his success. They see a great recruiter with great coaching results. Whether any of us see that doesn't matter. It's what they see. They see a Head Coach installing a game plan that beat tOSU in the shoe. The shoe...... As mentioned prior, it's gonna take 7 mil plus to keep MC. Others will offer more, maybe much more. Hope MC stays....... IMHO, and not to upset anyone, I see the recruiter building a coaching staff and in turn improving his coaching decisions. Coaching these talented youngsters thru massive injuries to their team mates and WINNING. 8-1 is coaching scoreboard...... Go Ducks. Beat the Cougs. 1-0 It will take great coaching and team effort to beat the Cougars. I believe. 9-1 is even better coaching scoreboard.
  20. It is great.... The PC is so frustrating. Glad to see the ESPN college football heads doubling down on the PC playing up the Ducks-Buckeyes head to head, then discounting the Michigan-MSU head to head A week later......... What's next? Go Ducks. 1-0
  21. And here's to many, many more pay back games against the little puppies. Santa: Hello Young man, tell me what you want for Christmas? Young man: For the Ducks to win a National Championship this season Santa: What a wonderful wish. I will see what I can do. What if I can't make that happen? Do you have another wish that might be easier to fulfill? Young man: That the huskies go 0-12 in 2022. Santa: Oh yes, much easier Go Ducks. 1-0 this week
  22. The only thing that the Ducks control, in this entire process, is how well they prepare for Saturdays game. Quality preparation and focus leads to dominant execution. The only thing the PC controls is the confusion and contradictions it spews to get clicks and views. What they said last week about head to head doesn't apply to Michigan and Michigan State, I guess It's okay to look inept against LSU, who lost to UCLA as long as you are Alabama? Be undefeated behind one loss teams, Oklahoma? GEEEZ....... The only silver lining in this show is that our Ducks are in the mix, in the conversation and the puppies up north are not.(Lake may be out by this time next week, hope not) Go Ducks. Beat the Cougars. In the last 7 seasons they have been a brutal rival to beat down. But the Duck coaches and these talented players can get this victory 1-0, 1-0, 1-0, 1-0 The rest will take care of itself..... I love being a Duck fan.
  23. Amen to that... DuckFan93 Go Ducks. Beat WSU. Go 1-0....
  24. Vandownbytheriverduck, I looked up the definition of Washington Husky in the elitist dictionary and it said to see your post. Outstanding, eloquent presentation delivered with prowess. Thank you. It is so good to be a Duck....
  25. I feel Duckdude is correct. Injuries happen every year. Toketeeman may be right about using poor technique.... just don't know. However this year it is magnified because so many big time, key players are suffering injuries.... In years past a 3 star or walk on was next man up. Now, with 3 solid recruiting classes by MC, the next man up has talent. And they play like it. Bassa is an example. Depth with talent has brought us to 8-1. It appears that this will be the case and story this year. Also, coaches have the replacements ready to play. Go Ducks.... 1-0 this week.
