I know it is early, but it is very encouraging as both squads have won their first three Pac-12 series. Oregon State is rated No. 2 in the nation, but the Ducks have a chance to makes some noise on the Diamond. We play a four game OOC series this week at home against Seattle starting today at PK Park at 5:05 PM. To watch their games, go to GoDucks.com, then Baseball, then Schedule, and scroll down to the game and click on the Live-Stream. Considering the tough start in non-conference for the Lady Ducks, this is also encouraging. They begin a series at UCLA on Thursday at 7:00 PM. Let's go Ducks!

Why? There is nothing for Oregon to gain. Beavers will never get to next level...

Oregon Ducks Football: Game of the Year?
Charles Fischer replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Fun pondering, and thanks to Alex! Famous FishDuck Editor and devout Buckeye fan, Natalie Liebhaber, says to watch out for Purdue, as “they will rise to bite you on occasion.” The toughest game could be due to weather, as going to Wisconsin in mid-November is NOT what I wanted to see on the schedule. Almost like someone set it up that way? The problem is....they LIKE it! -
Rob Mullens: Is it Sloth or Apathy?
Charles Fischer replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
That is a very real concern, getting 10 million from the Oregon legislature already when they are stealing their half of close to 300 million. You make another great point, in that in the end....the money stolen changes nothing for them. They are still a G-5 program... The Beavs and the MTW... -
I suggest you read Post No. 3 of this thread. The offer from ESPN was low-ball. It all turned out for the best for Oregon, as now we are part of the Big-2 conferences and actually have someone looking out for our interests. But it still does not justify the stealing by the Pig-2…

Rob Mullens: Is it Sloth or Apathy?
Charles Fischer replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
The offending sentence was edited out before hardly anyone saw it, and what is left is fine. A safe way for everyone to post is simply to post your own opinion and that is it. Nothing in reference to others and their opinions, just state your own opinion, facts and relevant logic that applies. We want debate, we want to see all sides, and have very successfully done it now for a couple of years without taking obvious or oblique shots at each other. My thanks to you and everyone for understanding, Charles -
So…the media revenue for LAST year was 37 million? And ESPN offered only 30 million for FUTURE years is all? Apple offered only 22 million? Everybody wanted to hose the Pac 12, and ignore actual value. Receiving 49 million a year for the next 10 years plus the revenue from all the bonuses that come with being in the Big Ten, is not just a wise business move, it was essential for our survival. Bastards.

Rob Mullens: Is it Sloth or Apathy?
Charles Fischer replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Jon, thank you for this article. What Mullens has done is unbelievably incompetent, and he should answer for it. Another point comes from the season ticket holders, those of us who are OBD. Rob, you removed a great game from the schedule, and gave up what will probably be Oregon's share at 35 million easily to the Pig-2, and then you will come to us later for more donations? More donations after you have given away an incredible amount like that? And you reward their thieving behavior with a Civil War home game to save their season ticket revenue earnings for 2024? Rob Mullens... -
Good gosh! Starting Oregon pitcher Kevin Sieter got into jam, but got out of it and has SIX straight strikeouts over two innings. Then Aaron Aroz hits a line-drive home run to give the Ducks an early 1-0 lead. Then Boettcher beats out a bad throw for an infield single. Then he steals second, and Justin Cassella gets a base hit to score Bryce! 2-0 Ducks after two innings.

Ducks WIN 3-2 on Boettcher's Walk-Off Bunt-Squeeze
Charles Fischer replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
SIDEARM Integrations GODUCKS.COM Boettcher drove in all three of Oregon's runs in the win -
Let’s discuss it!

Good gosh what a game for Our Beloved Ducks! Grayson Grinsell only gave up one run in five innings of work, and our relievers only gave up another run. But those bastard Wildcats have some great pitchers, and we could hardly make a dent. Ninth inning...Chase Meggers hits a double into the right field corner that gets the runner to third from first with one out. Then Eugene's finest, Bryce Boettcher, surprised everyone with a first baseline bunt-squeeze attempt that went to the pitcher, who tossed it to home. The Oregon runner, Mason Neville, dived under the tag for the winning run! Whew! And Boettcher hit a two-run homer earlier in the game! Bryce Boettcher This gives Oregon a series win, and tomorrow at noon we go for a sweep! (The bastard Beavers are winning every game and we gotta stay up)

No sweat. I thought you intentionally did it and I thought it was pretty funny. For those of us who are not very Nobel....we gotta get some laughs!

I don't know if that was an intentional misspelling of "noble," but....

The SEC Is Staying with Eight Conference Games in 2025?
Charles Fischer replied to Jon Joseph's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
You will not get a pass here on this topic. If we are both to be in Big-2 conferences, then we need to play a big-boy schedule that is balanced. The Georgia schedule versus Ohio State for example is horrendously unbalanced, as the Buckeyes get it much easier than you. This should not be happening. To generate the most revenue with home games, and to even the playing field...ALL Power-4 conference teams should play the same amount of conference games. With as large as our conferences are now--we should be playing ten conference games a year with no conference championship, IMHO. So when you are playing Georgia Tech...we are playing Washington? -
Oregon wins a pitching duel 2-1! Arizona is a traditional Baseball power who has won national championships, one of which was when Coach Waz was there as an assistant. They had a losing record coming into this game, but it was a ton of one-run losses to nationally ranked foes. Deceiving to look at their record... Then I noted that their starting pitchers had ERAs at half that of ours. Not good... But RJ Gordon really broke out tonight with just one run given up over six innings, and then relievers kept it that way between Brock Moore, Bradley Mullan and Logan Mercado. Incredible! And with the relievers only going one inning each...they can pitch again tomorrow night! This puts Oregon at 5-2, and at the top of the Pac-12 for now...let's keep winning and hold it! Game on live-stream tomorrow at 2:05 PM Pacific. It will end about an hour before the basketball game begins--a good day! RJ Gordon This was Oregon's first Friday night victory, thus a crucial step forward.

"The victory punctuated a $6 million day for WSU and Oregon State. Those two schools collected three more NCAA Tournament “units” as the conference posted a 3-0 record on Thursday. The “Pac-2” also earned another unit when Colorado won its “First Four” game on Wednesday. And the No. 10 seed Buffaloes play No. 7 Florida on Friday at 1:30 p.m. The Pac-12’s current NCAA Tournament tally: $16 million… and counting. That money will be distributed to the two remaining conference members over the next six years. That is on top of $60 million in previously earned distributions from prior tournaments. It’s all part of the growing war chest that the two schools could use for rebuild."

I can't resist...I am such a terrible sport! (But I never said I was noble) From the South Carolina forum... "Those of you who spent all week writing off Oregon should look in the mirror." "Lot of guys said the Pac 12 was bad, Dante is overrated." "I’m not sure I saw people writing off Oregon. We were confident in our own team. Huge difference." "I saw plenty of posts saying the Pac 12 was weak and Dante is overrated." "Oregon knew exactly how to attack us and they did it the entire game. It was like watching a good running game in football eating our **** up on the line of scrimmage." "I'll admit, I wrote off Oregon. Didn't realize their Center was the Hulk and didn't play for them a lot of the year. Just saw the pac12 as mediocre compared to what we did." "Still kinda sad that they have a 25 year old." (Couisnard) "I can’t see a talented G-League 25 yr old still in college after 6 yrs player having a bad game against a bunch of 22 yr old college guards." "They couldn’t miss. Yet again another team has magic shot making ability. Couisnard, naturally, went off. To me, it seemed like so much out of our control was going against us. As already mentioned, Oregon hardly missed. It’s absurd. The refs called stupid fouls against us and let their guys do whatever almost. Announcers and everyone else just seemed to be against us. It just had that vibe of an overwhelming force against us that we got starry eyed against and just couldn’t handle it." "Lost to a hotter team, no interior options limited outside game as Oregon pushed out on shooters with little impact. Need to be able to break down with penetration to rim which only Meechie really made routine effort . Disappointing watching a former destroy us… you know he will look pedestrian against next opponent." "Would it surprise anyone that Oregon loses in round two and Couisnard scores six points?" "It's going to happen, and we all know it." "Wouldn’t be surprised if Oregon makes the Final Four..." "Dante will have 3 fouls 8 minutes in." "Dante will foul out in the first half with 4 points." "They are going to get smoked by Creighton IMO."
