  1. I was relieved to hear that my suggested defensive game plan aligns with what Coach Aliotti is saying..."since Utah runs the ball 65% of their offensive plays--stack the box, stuff the run, and man coverage on the outside." If we stop the Utes running game, I do not believe that their passing game will outscore Oregon's offense.
  2. Here we are my Duck-Buddies, the thread for pondering the actual game as it happens. Let's discuss before, and during the game! The vast majority of you are GREAT in this thread, but you must remember that this forum is different, as we require civilized discourse. Discussion of negative is fine, but don't vent on us! Rule No. 31d covers GameDay Thread Conduct, and it is not hard for the vast majority of us--just a tiny few who need to reign it in when things don't go well for Our Beloved Ducks. Let's Have Fun Posting During the Game! One of the coolest screenshots I've ever captured. Took a long time to get the precise instant...
  3. Corso was not there. It was 2-2 between the picks.
  4. Agreed. We have big jumps from too many to mention, and where improvement did not take place, (Donte Manning) then portal recruiting solved the problem. Speaking of corners...what growth/development by Jahlil Florence, as I did not see him becoming a starter as he did before his injury.
  5. Pretty cool for a one of own in Eugene...
  6. Look at him....doesn't he look more like a stud linebacker than Baseball player?
  7. Sorry, my Duck-Buddy. I disagree. If Ty Thompson is our QB...we are screwed. (IMHO) I do believe in the potential of Luke Moga, and Austin Novosad, but we need a one-year band aid at QB, in my opinion. But that is for the off-season....let's savor this year and all the potential it brings!
  8. OK, now look closely at this because it is FUNNY!
  9. Well, the good news is that Bo won't have any problem sorting out the black helmets vs. the red ones!
  10. And....another Oregon pay-site has confirmed that Oregon has already been contacted by "interested parties" for a number of transfer prospects from a number of teams at key positions.
  11. Can you blame them? (Rumor is they have a very highly rated RB, that could be a Bucky replacement?)
  12. Remember to all....these predictions do not count for the prediction contest in the pinned post at the top. The reason is because I need all the tiebreaker information, and it needs to be in that thread. I do not have time to track down all predictions in other threads, thus only the contest thread counts. Thanks for understanding.
  13. Hello My OBD FishDuck Forum Friends! What is your prediction versus Utah? Take your shot and let's have fun with it... Lets get these predictions started, and remember I look for the differential between your predicted points with both teams from the actual points. I will use the tiebreaker information when needed, so provide all the data below! Entries without ALL the information are invalid, and predictions on other threads don't count. Please follow directions, as I need all that is below for tiebreakers: --the winner --the score --the amount of turnovers Oregon creates --the number of sacks Oregon records on the opposing team --the number of passing yards by the Ducks. My prediction is: Oregon, 30-20, 2, 4, 202
  14. If that happens...then YES! Pay him the NIL and secure next year's line! (Great research, Log Haulin--thanks!)
  15. When you are one of the top-rated offensive linemen in the nation...you are almost crazy to stay. While I would love it, I am realistic. He Gone...
  16. Completely agree, a monster hire. I cursed Cavanaugh's name when he was at Oregon State for the great rushing numbers they had, and the superb technique the Beavers employed. First, our coaches go out and get Cornelius, who has been lights-out for us at right tackle, and then the blend of new starters, but players who have played quite a bit in the past is impressive. I feel good about the future, but I sure am curious about Strother and the Texas transfer. Are they taking medical redshirts and coming back for 2024?
  17. And Darren? A title that jabs AND rhymes? Love it!
  18. Not me. Too much fun, and I'll take my punishment later if we lose...
  19. I just wanted to put this up on our awareness radar to watch in the last half of the season. This 2023 offensive line is outperforming everyone's expectations, and is one of the best in the nation at protecting Bo Nix, just as last year's offensive line did. But the key to offensive success is balance, IMHO, but that balance starts with a great running game. Last year we had a superb running game averaging 215 yards rushing per game, and my criteria of a good rushing game or season is the 200 yard mark. Now, I know we have the meat of the schedule left, and frankly--this year's schedule in the conference is tougher than last year's IMHO again. But through the seventh game--Oregon is rushing... 225 yards per game! This will be fun to watch for in the remainder of the season!
  20. “Beat Tulane and get back to me.”
