  1. Flipped him from Sanders at Colorado? Two for one! However, he is at the position the Oklahoma OL would be, who would have three years left compared to this guy. But geez...he looks like a Steven Jones clone. Did I know about him? Nope....
  2. This is from another site, and thought I'd pass it along. We do not have a report on the Michigan State NT, Harmon, but the visit did go well. The coaches are treading carefully at WR, as they do not have answers from Tez Johnson and Traeshon Holden about returning next year. A transfer could possibly drive one or both off, so that position might not be resolved until after the bowl season. There is smoke about another big DT who knows Oregon well, that might be playing his bowl game, and then going into the portal before the January 2nd cutoff for entering the portal. (They can sign after that date as long as they have already gone into the portal by the Jan. 2nd date) In fact, a whole new group of portal prospects will become available after bowl season, so know that the transfer recruiting season will stretch out a bit. Texas A&M DL Walter Nolen Intel: The top overall player in the transfer portal, Walter Nolen spent this past weekend at Ole Miss. With two years of eligibility remaining and the ability to play immediately, the Rebels are viewed as the team to beat for the 6-foot-4, 290-pound defensive lineman. A Mississippi native, Nolen spent his junior year of high school in Memphis before playing in Knoxville as a senior. Playing at Ole Miss would mean being closer to family, too. Would be a big pickup for Lane Kiffin and Pete Golding, edging out Oregon. UCLA QB Dante Moore Intel: The UCLA transfer was on the West Coast this weekend, making his official visit to Oregon. While Michigan has been in the mix, the Ducks appear to be the team to beat. With college football now in the dead period until January, it’s significant that he took his only visit to Eugene. Oregon offers everything he’s looking for – an opportunity to develop and learn and play on the national stage. The familiarity with Dan Lanning and the staff makes a difference, too. A source said the trip went “very well.” Oklahoma OL Cayden Green Intel: The Oklahoma offensive tackle is viewed as one of the top available players at his position in the portal. He spent this weekend making visits to Oregon and Mizzou. The Ducks and Tigers are the two clear-cut favorites, multiple sources tell On3. Both visits went well and we should have more clarity on which way Green is leaning in the days ahead. Kansas State S Kobe Savage Intel: Kobe Savage headed to the West Coast this past weekend, visiting Washington and Oregon. The Ducks have this one wrapped up, though. Savage is expected to announce his commitment any day now, a major pickup for Tosh Lupoi’s secondary
  3. Great article....a very informative article. Thank you Mike, (Grandpa Duck) for making the complex a whole lot easier to understand!
  4. So there are more OSU/WSU fans than Oregon fans? He thinks he is going to appeal to both? Who wants to read about a Mountain West+ conference?
  5. You are dealing with big topic, while I am referring to what Canzano just wrote. He is stating how ALL of the fans of 10 departing schools feel. Do you think that is accurate? I think if your name was smeared on a personal basis by so many Beavers fans as mine has been....you might feel differently! JB89: I appreciate this forum for allowing the posting of opposing opinions. Go Ducks! Amen Duck-Brother. We disagree on this, but I too love how we can vociferously disagree without it becoming personal. We state our opinions, and that is it.
  6. On an amusing side note...when looking up my article to place in the post above--I ran into a site that linked my article, and there were 54 comments, of which most were vile hate directed at me personally, without actually addressing the truth in the article. The marketplace proved the Beavers are the value of a Mountain West team. The Beavers have been over-paid by tens of millions for decades relative to their actual value. Oregon State wants to steal the vast majority of what the conference has earned in years past and now the present. Now, I'm a big-boy who knows what the deal is when you write strong-opinion articles like that, thus it is just WATER-OFF-A-DUCK.
  7. His article this morning is a desperate attempt to control the narrative for the Pac-2, while ignoring the Greatest Theft of Media Revenue in history. "I find it interesting that the fan bases of the 10 departing schools appear to agree that WSU and OSU should be in control of the conference." How stupid, blind or pathetic; he is trying to tell us how we should feel? Oh wait...it gets better... "Also, that the Cougars and Beavers are entitled to the Pac-12’s future assets." Really, the fan bases of all 10 departing schools truly feel this way? He has never once covered the truth of what I wrote about recently, because it would destroy his narrative. Beavers are Over-Valued, Over-Paid, Ungrateful and Unaccountable FISHDUCK.COM I am sick of the pretentious articles by John Canzano and other writers who portray the Beavers as the aggrieved party in the Pac-12 dissolution…
  8. More about him... Kansas State football safety Kobe Savage the latest Wildcats to enter transfer portal WWW.CJONLINE.COM Kansas State football safety Kobe Savage has entered the NCAA transfer portal, becoming the 16th Wildcat to do so since the end of the regular season.
  9. And THANKS to ThePondDuck for posting this, as he has only been a member for a month and is chipping in great. We have had four new OBD members in the last week, so DO post your thoughts! The water in this pond is
  10. When asked about it by JHOP on ScoopDuck, Savage said, "news to me." Not the reaction you would want... Or he is stalling for an official announcement later. Note the Tweet stated, "Expectation" to, but nothing confirmed. This would be pretty big if he does come to Oregon, as we need him BAD. Because we won't have HIM anymore...
  11. For this year--I agree. But compared to where this team is going to evolve to in the next couple of years?
  12. Yep. And how many of all these college QBs become good in the NFL? You would think EVERY NFL team would have a great QB, but there are not that many great ones. Which gets back to my point written before; finding a good QB is HARD at any level. All teams go through scads of them...trying to find the diamond. Meanwhile the coaches have to win NOW, or we fans will be howling. Thus the trend to proven transfers is not surprising. I am pondering an article about solutions...
  13. He has given a ton of great ideas in the past, and I think he could steer this better than most right now? Our first CFB Commissioner?
  14. Over the next two weeks, and I have no idea. We are taking our swings at some good ones, and common sense tells me “we’ll get our share, “ but I would just be guessing. A pretty good start with Gabriel, and that momentum has to help. We needed a quarterback, a receiver, a safety, and at least one defensive tackle, and in the end, I think we will get one of each. I just don’t know who yet…
  15. Well, you can assert your strong opinion, and I will assert mine backed by factual evidence. First of all, Ajani Cornelius was brought in as a transfer from Rhode Island last year, and started all season at offensive right tackle for us, and did a fantastic job. Two other offensive line transfers were brought in from East Carolina and Texas, but played sparingly or none due to injuries. They were brought in with the intention of plug-and-play… Second, Dan Lanning has been absolutely stellar in his portal transfer successes, so I would rate it as a low probability of a transfer not working out, considering Dano’s track record thus far.
  16. From his Instagram, safety Corey Ellington is currently on a visit to Oregon as well. The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder started in seven games last season for Mississippi State. He recorded 66 tackles last season for the Bulldogs.
  17. Your original post confidently asserted that the departing 10 PAC-12 teams will get what is coming to them. You did not cite any source, but gave the impression that it was a fact, a done deal. Now you are backtracking into what you feel, and other legal experts who feel that we will be treated fairly. Again, these are all just opinions, yours, theirs,… and mine. I’m not trying to pick on you, as you are a great poster here, but in the end, we are all just stating our opinions. I do not think the remaining two schools are going to play nice, now that they are in a strong legal position. And yet, they have been valued in the marketplace, as not worthy of being a Power-5 member, since all of the P-5 conferences have rejected them. Their actual value is that of a Mountain West team. Thus they have been overvalued, and overpaid for decades. They should be grateful for the umpteen millions that they have been paid and not deserving of. Instead, they are trying to stick it to us, and our Athletic Director in turn helps them to the tune of millions of dollars with scheduling them? I can’t make this stuff up, for how stupid it is. If everything turns out fine later, and we are given a fair share after expenses and liabilities, then I will publicly acknowledge that true equity was delivered to Oregon. But color me skeptical at the least, while trying to withhold my roaring laughter at how plausible the probability is of that becoming true.
  18. Doubtful, or no. But we have a real good shot at the former Kansas State safety, Kobe Savage, listed in the first post above.
  19. I do not know. I just pulled it from the GIFs available that had the message I wanted to convey, so where ever it came from is fine. I stay away from politicians saying things, because it will automatically offend half the people here--even if what he/she is saying is the phrase I'm looking for.
  20. Who are we targeting yet? Below is a list.... Quarterback: Dante Moore – Transfer Running Back: Nate Frazier – Prep Jay Harris – Transfer Wide Receiver: Jeremiah McClellan – Prep Gatlin Bair – Prep Cyrus Allen – Transfer Juice Wells – Transfer Tight End: No current targets. Offensive Line: Jordan Seaton – Prep Cayden Green – Transfer, is a 6'4" 315 pound freshman who started for OU. Defensive Line: Jericho Johnson – Prep Solomon Williams – Prep Walter Nolen – Transfer Derrick Harmon – Transfer Linebacker: No current targets. Defensive Back: Kobe Savage – Transfer Decamerion Richardson – Transfer Corey Ellington – Transfer Jermod McCoy – Transfer Kicker: Atticus Sappington – Transfer Juice Wells at Receiver Would Be Nice...
  21. We do have the National Signing Day coming up this week....
  22. First we see some tasty tidbits from Matt Prehm at 247 Sports,... "Most know how I don't like to stick my neck out there and say a commit is coming before I 100% know it's coming. We've taken a very, very conservative approach to covering recruiting and making predictions. I was told this weekend things have progressed as well as expected for not just one but multiple prospects Oregon is targeting in the transfer portal and also the high school ranks." "Very rarely do I get excited these days about recruiting weekends or big wins on the football field. This weekend is shaping up like one of those rare weekends where things could be pretty darn fun." And then I see this below...
  23. I do not believe those decisions have been made yet, and their blustering gave us all the impression that they intend to use our monies for their uses with the new conference they create in terms of paying for exit fees of schools, etc. Perhaps you are giving them the benefit of the doubt, but I will not. They have made it very clear that if they can screw us out of what we deserve--they will.
  24. My Duck-Buddies, I like having a string of YouTube music videos on in the background when I'm looking for pictures for FishDuck.com articles, and this one below from 15 years ago made me think of us as Oregon fans. We have been through so much as fans, so close--so many times,....do you still believe? I love this cut, and the sax in it is just sensational. At 2:36 is a fantastic refrain that goes into a sax solo, and as an avid Duck fan with new hope given by Dan Lanning....this song inspires me to stay the course. How about YOU? Listen to it more than once and see if this doesn't remind you of being Oregon fan... Charles
