  1. Many of us, (like yours-truly) were wary of the verbal from JC recruit George Silva, 6'7" 295 lbs. of Fullerton College. Short offer list, and it appeared to be a "desperation-grab" recruit? He has been elevated to a Rivals 3-Star, and on 247? He is a 4-Star and rated the No. 1 JC offensive lineman and the No. 3 overall JC player available. I guess Coach Klemm knows upside when he sees it! We did pretty good with another highly rated JC offensive lineman in TJ Bass...
  2. A rumor on an Oregon board from an Iowa board is that Proctor is wearing Oregon gear to school? Whew! Oregon Recruiting: Ducks pick up new prediction to flip 5-star OT DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The Oregon Ducks have picked up a new prediction to flip 5-star OT Kadyn Proctor after his recent visit to Eugene.
  3. With Utah's away uniforms...a ton of white on the field.
  4. Normally, I wait a full day to disclose what is on a pay site out of respect for those who pay for it...but it is now disclosed/revealed on the other pay-site, so it is out there now beyond the original site. This is a Rivals 5-Star, the best Offensive Tackle in America in high school. A few weeks ago I jested that since Oregon was a finalist for his verbal, and Iowa was not doing well--that we ought to go after him? Well, Lanning and Klemm did. (Pardon the "S" word, but I cannot edit it out...) It is interesting that Donte Moore and Proctor are connected on Twitter too?
  5. And this is why I refer to them as the Bastard Huskies...you can never beat them enough times, by enough points.
  6. Canzano helping us appreciate Lanning for the kind of person he is. Thanks to John as well...
  7. My FishDuck Friends, I see lots of reluctance, and hesitation to posting. When you see an article in one of the long article threads (Pre-Game or Post-Game) that spurs a thought from you...start a new thread, copy the URL of the article into the new post and give us your thoughts. Start the new conversation! Or reply to a thread, but give us your thoughts! Remember, this is the only forum for Duck fans where you can write your far-out opinion....and people still have to be nice to you! Unsure of how to post? Just give us your opinion, that is it! Easy-peasy! When everyone refrains from maligning references to others or casting aspersions toward an opposing view, (as they do here on the OBD forum) the end result is everyone simply sharing their opinion on a topic with the result of it being civilized discourse! (As we see on all these great threads) What a novel idea! (And so rare these days) Do jump in, as the water in this Duck Pond is great! And know that Mr. FishDuck always has your back....
  8. This also gets into the "loyalty vs. results" argument that coaches wrestle with internally all the time. Mark Helfrich was not good at hiring, and even worse at making changes. The question will remain the same for Lanning, and it could make-or-break him over time. Or I could be completely wrong, as we clearly do not have the personnel (IMHO) to implement what Lanning did at Georgia. Dazed has deferred his thoughts until after the season, and I will do the same on my remaining concerns. (Great article Drex!) How Brady Hoke Got Mark Helfrich FIRED FISHDUCK.COM Charles Fischer of FishDuck.com provides another set of examples showing how Oregon's defense is poorly coached, and will result in the firing of Mark Helfrich.
  9. The most prominent names for the ASU job are Jim Mora Jr. and Bryan Harsin. Both make a lot more sense than Dilly, as it is unknown if he has the tools to be a head coach, as it is so early in his career at age 32. Jim Mora knows the West coast, and understands the Pac-12 as he has led UCLA to a 46-30 record. He’s got UCONN to 6-5 this season after the single win in 2021 and two wins in 2019. (No 2020 season) He is really turning things around there.
  10. Wait a minute...wasn't he in line to transfer out when Mario was still here? Before Mario left?
  11. 1. I am not going to worry about this stuff until after the season is over. We'll know then... 2. I will bet anyone a six pack of their favorite brew that BOTH Lanning and Dilly will be here at Spring Football.
  12. Great to see it Annie, as I hope the crowd noise can sweep Our Beloved Ducks to victory!
  13. Amen! These new coaches are the opposite of before, and do keep in mind--although at a lower level--KB of Washington has been a head coach a long time. Lanning is smart, but this time HC experience may have prevailed at key moments between the coaches. Lanning will be a great coach before it is over...
  14. cartm25....that is the perfect football flow-chart for what to say about a coach! I have not seen it before, and LOVE it.
  15. The Coach is Brilliant...When it WORKS? I cannot tell you how many times over the years I shake my head at a play-call that worked...and wondered what the fan reaction would be if it did not work. We think the coach is smart when it works, but there are tons of variables that come into the success of a play beyond the play-call itself. Successful onside kick vs. UCLA: Brilliant! Gutsy, and caught them off-guard and got Oregon another possession! Bad onside kick vs. Washington: Poor timing, and gave the Huskies a short field...bad decision. Successful Trick Play vs. Colorado: So smart! Wide open and great for the young men! Unsuccessful Trick Play vs. Washington: Bad call, poor timing of it's use, and we blew the winning points! Running Bo Nix on 4th Down vs. UCLA: He was met by two defenders and cut through them both! So much guts, and what a way to keep a drive going...great call! Running Bo Nix vs. Washington: You know the drill here... So many of the complaints I see all just come down to..."did it work?" Not a 'dis at anyone, because I am the same way--I am a severely dysfunctional Oregon FAN. And that is what a forum is for; we always second-guess the coaches, and it is fun. It is just an observation I've noticed over the years...
  16. I believe it was a straight Inside Zone, without a read. DuckStrike, I hope your handle/posting name implies you are an Oregon Baseball fan, as there are a few of us on this forum. And sorry for the circumstances, but glad to have to start up with us. Do post often, and WELCOME!
  17. ...and that would be FG Lumber with a 38-35 predicted score with the bad-guys winning. His total differential was only two points off? Whew!
  18. AnotherOD, I am not going to get into a long discussion of disagreement with your post tonight. Suffice it to say, we have written many articles about what Oregon's defensive strategy is--based upon what can and cannot do. Things changed when we sent six rushing against Eastern Washington and still had no pressure. Thus we reverted to a higher-percentage defense to operate in conjunction with the offensive strategy. And sometimes it does not work because the other team is pretty good on that night too.
  19. Oh goody. We haven't beat this topic up since....yesterday.
  20. So many elements to that game, but the biggest surprise to me? The Huskies played the game of their lives, and we did not. Yes the refs blew some calls, and Lanning finally had the reversion-to-the-mean with the averages of making 4th downs, onside kicks, etc.,...but that damn QB for Washington was pretty incredible. And their receivers got fantastic separation--and their timing on passes was amazing. There are some days you have to tip your hat to the other side, even when they are the bastard Huskies. A Rose Bowl is still attainable, and to me no matter what....
  21. Let's stop the Game thread and discuss in the main forum area. Start a new thread...
  22. Here we are my friends, the thread for discussing the actual game as it happens. Let's discuss before, and during the game! The vast majority of you are GREAT in this thread, but you must remember that this forum is different, as we require civilized discussion. Rule No. 31d covers GameDay thread conduct, and it is not hard for the vast majority of us--just a tiny few who need to reign it in. Let's Have Fun Posting During the Game!
  23. You can't beat the Huskies enough times, by enough points and nothing matches an Alan roast of our opponents!
