  1. Right. The AVERAGE is 49 million over 10 years.
  2. The schedule at GoDucks.com shows the Civil War game at 5:30 PM PDT...
  3. No, the average over 10 years is nearly 50 million a year, nearly double what the Pac-12 would have had after expenses charged, or subscription criteria demanded. Our audience will grow incredibly in the B1G, so this was a no-brainer.
  4. It starts at 5:30 PM PDT, sorry...it starts at 8:30 PM for you!
  5. EUGENE, Ore. — Oregon football will play at 12:30 p.m. PT for the third week in a row and fourth time in five games when the Ducks face Utah on Saturday, Oct. 28, in Salt Lake City. The game will be broadcast on FOX. The No. 9 Ducks (5-1, 2-1 Pac-12) will host Washington State (4-2, 1-2) at 12:30 p.m. on ABC this Saturday, Oct. 21, in Autzen Stadium. Six of Oregon’s first eight games will have been day games, including five at either 12:00 p.m. or 12:30 p.m.
  6. That is a very strong point, and is the positive spin I say to myself because it is true. Psychologically....it is hard to beat a team twice, and easy to get "up" for a team you narrowly lost to. Our Beloved Ducks can still do it!
  7. True, and unfortunately--they got us at a bargain compared to the LA schools. But we will do just fine....
  8. GODUCKS15! His predicted score of 41-37 (Washington) was only nine points off the actual score of 36-33, and I congratulate him. I also apologize to him, as I simply could not bring myself to attend to this without a day of sputtering and healing. I appreciate the patience from you all, and am happy for GODUCKS15, who has been an OBD member going back to the beginning. We had two others who were close, had Oregon won--it would have gone to tiebreakers with so many scores so close to each other. On to the Cougars!
  9. Regardless of what happened the last two weeks for WSU.,,if they could beat Wisconsin and Oregon State, they can beat us. Gotta give it our 100%…
  10. Can't we escape Pac-12 refs any sooner? (My apologies for the language I cannot remove)
  11. Our biggest booster is not happy....
  12. Right. It is about his decisions, but in no way am I stating or implying anything personal....since he is a whole smarter than I. Rule No. 26 says we can be negative and critical of coach's decisions and player performance--as long as we don't get personal.
  13. This is true...maybe. I view this year as an aberration due to all the seniors and experienced players. Next year is almost a complete rebuild, and a gradual fight upwards, IMHO.
  14. I gotta say...Jon Wilner surprised me with what he wrote below... Did Lanning not learn his lesson? Can he not distinguish between an aggressive approach and reckless decisions? Combine the short field goals that he didn’t try Saturday afternoon with the short field he gave the Huskies and you have a 13-point swing in a three-point game. His comments after Saturday’s loss: “This game’s 100 percent on me.” His comments after last year’s loss: “This game 100 percent falls on me.” He’s being paid handsomely to not repeat his mistakes, especially against the hated Huskies. Yes, and a good Duck-Buddy reminded me of something an hour ago..."Aren't you the guy who says, 'Greatness and Weakness Emerge Early?,' and I had hang my head. This is Dan's weakness among all his amazing strengths. I have to hope for one of the two below: 1. That he finally embraces what experienced, savvy, winning coaches do, and takes the damn points, or... 2. There is an adult in the room among his staff and analysts who shouts in the headset...."Take the Damn Points!" I know. I gotta follow my own rule and not vent on people. Thanks for all the good people here who may disagree, but do so with class and dignity. We Love Our Ducks...
  15. What an epic post. Truly...you are one of us, a Duck-Brother, who has felt it all. With your writing skills--I wish you would post more often. Thanks for writing it better than I ever could...
  16. I don't think so. He has demonstrated that he is hard-headed on this topic. We will lose one or two close games a year until he learns, IMHO.
  17. Absolutely, as I am counting my blessings with what he is doing. As I wrote in another thread, Cristobal blew a game or two each year to teams we should not have lost to. Lanning is doing the same thing, only via a different method. How many times does it happen before he learns? All experienced coaches know....YOU TAKE THE DAMN POINTS!
  18. My philosophy of game management at the end-game is, "first downs at the end of the game are as important as touchdowns earlier in the game. Without both you don't win." So to me--whether you turned the ball over to Penix at mid-field, or his own 10 yard line...it didn't matter. With over three minutes left and using four downs every series--there is no doubt in my mind that he would have had the Huskies scoring. So we try to win it by burning two more first-downs, thus we do what it takes to win at the end. I am quite OK with Dan's decision there, and it actually gave us time to come back at the end were it not for precious time wasted. (Another time) FishDuck Observations: Washington's defense was much better than I thought they would be going into the game. Oregon's defense was not as good as I thought. The inexperience of Will Stein showed up on 4th downs, but this is his first rodeo at this level. Oregon is not even in this game, where it not for what Dan Lanning has built at Oregon. He is special, and I want him long term at Oregon. To me, Dan's weak spot last year was 4th down decisions, but he is incredibly smart, so no-way he did not learn from that last year? Nope; Dan Lanning has lost three games in two years due to passing up field goals, and failing on 4th down. How many times does it take?
