  1. I think two divisions of nine each is good; play eight conference games and four non-conference games with a conference championship. Easy-peasy.
  2. Sure, that is easy. But to have faith in Our Beloved Ducks, and in my own analysis...is what I do. Watching this happen, (or not) will make the journey that much more interesting.
  3. This is not about pride with me; this is analysis. When I break down the Spring Game, look closely at the transfers, and learn the Georgia 4-2-5 MINT defense-I could see what was happening. The media does not know Lanning’s defense, as they cannot even get the positions listed correctly for the depth charts! I am not always right, but I feel pretty confident in my assertions. It will make the drama of the season that much more entertaining.
  4. I love this play for the stress it puts on the defense. With Bo’s reputation for running-I would think the opponent would move the safety up into the box to add a defender. That would leave the slant, or a hitch-and-go wide open with the WR. I would prefer seeing this on second or third down, and not fourth down, since there is a good chance of errors. Love it! Thanks Coach Boles!
  5. Good grief. If anyone should get it--Schwartz should, considering how I covered him during his playing days for Chip. This defense will be helped by an emerging Matayo, but the key are the portal transfers on defense that Lanning brought in at LB, DB and JACK linebacker. All those transfers will make a MASSIVE change in the defense, and you heard me declare it now a ton of times while the pundits/media do not recognize it yet. Tysheem Johnson (No. 27) is a fast, but stout defender who fits perfectly at the STAR position. He will be a FORCE for Oregon.
  6. Boy....this is not the kind of attitude I recall from when he was playing there and when he left! (Seeing his success at Oregon has to make them a little butt-hurt)
  7. Agreed, but I thought it was relevant to report and an opportunity to celebrate our newfound depth at Oregon.
  8. Great idea, and the Texas Tech game is a good start.
  9. This would be BIG, as he is a perfect profile for the Lanning defense, and he is the No. 1 rated player in the state of Washington. For the Huskies?
  10. Meanwhile, can't you just feel Coach Witt just all puckered up? (He hasn't had a bowel movement in a week)
  11. Remember years back when his opinion mattered?
  12. BTW...their starters at guard were already going to have thin numbers in reserve, and now... Be grateful that Lanning has loaded up the way he has! That is a big Duck at guard, in Steven Jones, No. 74. And another Oregon site says that the Huskies have very little experience in Running Backs behind the starter who was injured.
  13. If it was Oregon State? I'm sure they would be blaming Oregon....
  14. Boy, you read the written transcript of what Tosh said in his interview? Whew! That guy has been in coaching a long time, and knows how to say a TON....and not tell us anything new. That is a skill, you know. And that is what they all do when you have closed spring and fall practices--they tell us nothing. After the actual football games--there is no place to hide; they can't spin off stuff because we all saw the game. We can learn a lot from coaches after a game, but from practices? You could transplant everything a coach was saying at another conference team on the same day....with hardly a difference. A SID (Sports Information Director) once told me...."the only thing more paranoid than a Basketball coach....is a football coach!" Hence the tortuous coach-speak...
  15. I completely agree with this, and I would like to think that in a year or two we can challenge Ohio State for the best.
  16. See post number 6 below for update.... On other sites they say it is in downtown Dallas.... and considering all the Texas players joining us? Good call.
  17. I completely agree. I believe he is building the core of the team now, and then will add with high quality talent each via HS, and as you said--plug holes with the portal or take advantage of what comes your way. For example...a portal QB coming to us this next winter could hurt the QB room in terms of attitude. Yet do you want to start 2024 with an experienced or inexperienced QB? What to do about that decision?
  18. This was already reported this morning on this forum. Please read all the threads below the top few.... He is not going to be a 2024 scholarship.
