Huh? When Did Oregon Climb to No. 3 in the Recruiting Rankings?
Perhaps all of you were already aware of it, but the last I noted our ranking, was at No. 7, and we just moved up to that. Note right here that at No. 3 in the nation with Rivals, we have the fewest recruits at 17 than any others in the top-ten...by a mile. And yeah...they list us with four 5-Stars, but we really only have one Rivals 5-Star at the moment. Our average ranking per recruit is No. 1, with the highest quality recruiting class to date. And yep...it is a long ways to December signing. But it is fun to see for now! Immanuel Iheanacho, Rivals 5-Star

Prediction Contest vs. Oklahoma State: Join Us!
Hello My OBD FishDuck Forum Friends! What is your prediction versus Oklahoma State? Take your shot and let's have fun with it... Let's get these predictions started, and remember I look for the differential between your predicted points with both teams from the actual points. I will use the tiebreaker information when needed, so provide all the data below! Entries without ALL the information are invalid, and predictions on other threads don't count. And please check the other posts in this thread to prevent putting up the a score that has already been predicted. We had one week where four entries were the same score! And yet people keep doing it each week so... We Have Two New Rules: If two winning scores are the same? The first one who posted wins, automatically. TerryM9 gets 42-6 locked in every time as his. (I love this guy!) Please follow directions, as I need all that is below for tiebreakers: --the winner --the score --the amount of turnovers Oregon creates --the number of sacks Oregon records on the opposing team --the number of passing yards by the Ducks. My prediction is: Oregon 48-13 2 3 251 Matayo Uiagalelei Gets His Sack

Is Oregon the Next Oklahoma State?
The rumor from inside sources around two years ago was that after both Phil and Penny are gone...UO Athletics gets 8 billion. What about funding after Phil and before the loss of Penny? Unknown. And all of this is rumor/conjecture and might be wishful thinking. But there is no doubt that with enough left in a Knight Endowment...the interest could pay for everything, and maybe NIL for Olympic sports as well?

Dan Lanning Offers Explanation on why Makhi Hughes had Such a Limited Work Load
That really was not an answer, but a coachspeak deflection from what is reality...of which we do not know. Could he be dinged up? Possible, but it that worth hiding? Could it be that he is not as good as hoped? I doubt that as well, so I have no idea what is going on.

Malik Benson Needs His Own Discussion.
In his post-game interview...Benson spoke of how he and Moore have spent a TON of time together since he transferred. Throwing, but also doing stuff off the football field. Thus there is a bond created a trust, and I assume that with all the experience that Benson has between Alabama and Florida State--there is a trust of a "veteran" by Moore in Benson. Like you, I was surprised at all the times Malik was targeted, but now after the interview--it makes sense. Good!

Oklahoma State's HC Mike Gundy: Talkin Out of Both Sides of His Mouth
"No...I haven't driven drunk 1,000 times..." Not the disclaimer we were looking for. Perhaps his remarks make him SEEM like he's drunk? Los Angeles TimesOklahoma State's Mike Gundy went from 'I'm a man, I'm 40'...Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy backtracks after saying he's driven with a blood alcohol content over the legal limit 'a thousand times' while trying to defend Ollie Gordon II's DUI arrest.

Oklahoma State's HC Mike Gundy: Talkin Out of Both Sides of His Mouth
I think John Canzano summarized the episode well... "Gundy’s comments aren’t hard to figure out. He’s preparing his fan base for a double-digit beatdown at Autzen Stadium on Saturday. Or maybe he misses the days when his school had a billionaire booster, and his opponent did not."

The Meltdown in Alabama is EPIC
Well, maybe a little... Alabama’s 31-17 loss at Florida State has triggered a full-blown identity crisis in Tuscaloosa. The Tide have now dropped three of their last four games, including back-to-back losses dating to last season, and second-year coach Kalen DeBoer is already facing questions about his fit. Kirk Herbstreit and Rece Davis both sounded the alarm on ESPN, with Davis saying Alabama “looked listless. Terrible.” The Tide managed just 341 yards of offense after their opening drive, surrendered 230 rushing yards, and looked overwhelmed at the line of scrimmage. Voices of Frustration Former Tide stars are questioning the program’s edge. AJ McCarron unloaded on the program's culture, saying Alabama doesn’t have enough in-state players who “understand the tradition,” calling out LB Deontae Lawson and WR Ryan Williams for lacking passion. Trent Richardson was critical of the offense, too. The frustration isn't limited to ex-players. Power brokers and boosters are growing concerned, too. “We’re spoiled, always have been. But when we put a team out there that looks uninspired like we have far too many times these past two years and lose to teams that we’re clearly more talented than, that’s when it becomes a problem … and not just a bunch of spoiled fans griping.” —Anonymous Alabama donor A 'Tide of Tears?

The Meltdown in Alabama is EPIC
Wowsa. I cannot copy the article from The Athletic, but their reporting shows a meltdown by fans, and boosters of epic proportions. Lost three of the last four games, players not playing hard, and the major expectations being unmet is creating great entertainment. With a buyout of 70 million....I just love the spot that all the parties are in, as it is impossible for this to turnaround, and make everyone happy enough. As if all that wasn't enough...they claim their major candidates to replace DeBoer are: Kirby Smart, Ryan Day or Dan Lanning. Good luck with that! If you want a few laughs...below are 'Tide fans voicing their displeasure!

AP Poll is Out
Coaches poll had Oregon at No. 5, so we had THREE B1G teams in the top five? Cool! (Paul isn't going to like that!)

Watching the Fuskies Game and Oh Boy…
Washington is improved, has talent, (but nothing like ours) and they shout "Mid-Lin" team to me. They will give teams trouble before losing, and 7-5 sounds about right. We'll bring him along...

Malik Benson Needs His Own Discussion.
Wow. Good catch, as I did not know that. David Marsh revealed in his article that Benson was the surprise leader in receptions for the game, and it bodes very well for us. Like you, Solar, I am feeling MUCH better about the upside of our passing game.
