  1. Ty Thompson beat some pretty good names in the Friday competition...and is the youngest QB at the event? See story below the tweet... College quarterback standouts from the Manning Passing Academy - On3 WWW.ON3.COM Many of college football's top quarterbacks threw at the Manning Passing Academy on Friday night, with several turning in standout showings.
  2. Great post and unfortunately...I agree with you. USC will be a powerhouse, and I believe Oregon will be as well, thus some epic games coming up!
  3. As we know--Justin Herbert won a State Baseball Championship as the star pitcher. I wished I had watched him pitch...6'6" staring you down with 90+ mph fastball?
  4. It does not stop there; they celebrate their mythical national championship, even creating a trophy and awarding it to themselves in a halftime ceremony a few years ago. The year of the "championship" was 1991, and what happened in 1992? The Pac-8 and the NCAA penalized the heck out of them for all the dirty-dealings that I will not detail again. The point is--they won their championship by cheating...and celebrate it! Who does that? Only the Huskies... Their "championship" was declared by a newspaper poll, and thus they don't go back later and correct those. Hence why USC lost their BCS championship, but Washington has not been held accountable and had their championship removed as they should have. Husky fans know this and celebrate their dishonest winning regardless. These really are terrible, loathsome people.
  5. Agreed. There must be the threat of a law-suit, or something that was brewing that we will never know. Or perhaps Phil lost confidence in Johnson?
  6. There might be some bad blood with the way the Powell took some athletes with them to Seattle. The North Carolina A&T coach built something out of nowhere... (No 9 in the nation)
  7. Apparently Marcus Mariota and Justin Herbert happen to both be "vacationing" in Eugene this weekend? What perfect timing! Sure looks like 5-Star running back Richard Young is getting into "Shout" pretty well! This guy below is big-time...
  8. I've noticed that Dana has gone from wearing a shirt and tie to much more casual on the sidelines at Duck games. I am old-school, and prefer coaches of all sports to dress up, as it looks more professional. (You don't see that on football sidelines anymore)
  9. Something to read for a Saturday...the Beavs will be a seven or eight win team? Canzano: Mailbag deals with Ducks, Beavers, Blazers, Pac-12 and... spray-tan ladies? WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Your questions, my answers...
  10. Interesting to watch this strategy play out... Oregon Women’s Hoops Update: Graves Working Toward Tighter, Tougher Squad WWW.ADDICTEDTOQUACK.COM Roster Reduction, New Player Integration Keys to 2022-23
  11. It is a shame I even had to write the first post in this thread, but sure enough...I've had to delete two posts today that made a slight reference to politics. Were they egregious? No. Could they start a bonfire? YES. Been-there-and-done-that. C'mon folks, use good judgment! Some people just don't see what the problem is...
  12. For Blazer fans... (It is a slow news time, so...) Canzano: Trail Blazers GM Joe Cronin had a nice week on the job WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Portland's roster got better.
  13. What is the importance of Pacific Northwest ties? If you recruit well, and coach up your players, have a great scheme on offense and defense, game-plan well and have good in-game adjustments...what does the PNW have to do with that? The Ducks are recruiting the state of Oregon about as well as those in the past, (and there are not many prospects here at the higher levels) and we seem to be recruiting the state of Washington and California pretty well thus far under Lanning. If you went to coach in the SEC, and had no ties--that would hurt you as it takes years to build those bonds with HS coaches. While it takes as long in the PNW...you are not missing out on as much. And as evidenced by a recent verbal from Washington D.C.--the Lanning staff is willing to go anywhere to recruit. We will get ours.
  14. There was a big news announcement that has massive political implications, and is the most contentious subject in the world of politics. Do NOT mention it, refer to it, or even in the most oblique way bring it into a thread. This is true today and every day; do not even mention the word. Remember, this is the GREEN REFUGE away from that real-life stuff, the place where we can discuss Oregon sports in peace...unlike anywhere else. If you attempt to skirt around the rules at all... If you have an objection or concern about this policy....do not post them in public. Email me charles@fishduck.com and we will discuss it. From the Rules: No. 12: No Reference of any kind to Politics or Religion: I do not allow even a hint of politics or subtopics pertaining to politics; no names, no terms, no links, not even a word or any references pertaining to anything political. Do not even use the word, "politics" or "political" in your posts because just the word is a lightning rod that generates discussions in a direction we do not want the site to go in. Any of the aforementioned could initiate a political discussion, and veering in that direction at all will cause a site meltdown in today’s acrimonious climate. We do not allow anything negative directed at any religion, toward anyone in the LGBT community, or toward any race, gender or ethnic group. No. 12a): Part of the challenge I have is not only deleting any comment that pertains at all to politics, but to also remove the comments that could also instigate political discussions that could hurt our community. I have to ask myself, “will that comment initiate political discussion, even though the comment is fairly benign?” That is why I delete posts/comments that may not be blatantly political, as I have prevent the responses and fall-out that would ensue from the comment. People here want that protection, and not just from being attacked politically, but from even having to read it. The majority of our rules can again be summarized to this: 1) be polite and respectful, 2) keep it clean, and 3) no reference of any kind to politics.
  15. The pre-season anointing of the Huskies never ends, although the bar does get lower every year! (Did you know they refer to Oregon as "UNK?")
  16. He created more National Championships in three years than the Huskies did in 130 years!
