  1. Unfortunately, I agree with this. If we don't get into the B1G....we are screwed, IMHO.
  2. This is an idea that Canzano floated that might be the only way to survive if the B1G rejects Oregon. But the revenue split up so many ways--seems like a big decline to me. Get into the B1G or fade into irrelevance? He also noted that the Pac-12 is working hard to keep Oregon and Washington... Canzano: Pac-12 trying to hold itself together amid USC-UCLA defection WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM What happens next?
  3. It's going to be hard to even look at a USC or UCLA fan without spitting on the ground in their direction and calling them dirty. Such a dishonest blindside... After all these years of competing--you don't even ask the Pac-12 for more money? Don't even try to squeeze WSU, OSU and Arizona for less money to give the LA schools a bigger share? We don't even deserve a "heads-up" after all these years? What a dirty, scummy way of doing business with partners that helped you make money. Never mind your losing record to Oregon for the last 20 years. Sorry about the rant...kinda lost control.
  4. OK...your funnin' me...right? "Would we want to leave our bitter rival in the dust with a subpar conference while we go on to greater revenues and future?" You portray a dream scenario! But I do not think it would happen as Seattle is a much bigger market, and hard for a conference to ignore. BTW...great to see you back! (And you are always welcome to stop by and jump in)
  5. It was very kind of you to sign up and share your good sentiments. While half the conference will be scrambling to avoid a bad situation--I feel for them too, as we all have so much history together. I think Oregon will be fine, but it will be nerve-wracking until we know for certain. Amazing how two schools blindsided us and really turned lives upside down.
  6. Our friend Log Haulin, posted this in another thread, but so many truths are in it that I had to make a separate thread for it. "The Big Ten decided to take the Pac-12's best assets for itself and leave the Pac-12 to die." "Make no Mistake--This is a Death Sentence for the Pac-12." 23 thoughts on USC and UCLA to the Big Ten - Footballscoop FOOTBALLSCOOP.COM Attempting to think our way through a California earthquake that leaves the Pac-12 in ruins and changes just about everything for just about everyone.
  7. Does that title epitomize your feelings at times? Mine too, with the portal, NIL, Coaches salaries and now being stabbed in the back by the LA schools. But regardless of these events...I am an Oregon fan for the rest of my life. I have said before--that even if there were only five of us left...I'd rather have a reasonable, civilized discussion of Our Beloved Ducks in this forum than all the nastiness elsewhere. And that is also true for where-ever the path for Oregon goes, whether it is with the Pac-12 or another conference. Since I am keeping the bills paid on both sites, and the writers and I still enjoy writing--these two sites will be here long-term reporting the news with links, passing along the press releases and enjoying the high-brow discussions with this savvy community. I am here no matter what...
  8. It's official: USC and UCLA are leaving the Pac-12 for the Big Ten WWW.LATIMES.COM USC and UCLA are leaving the Pac-12 for the Big Ten, a shift that will move college football's 'Power Five' closer to a 'Power Two.'
  9. How betrayed do you feel? Not even a shot at trying to work it out? USC to Make Historic Move to Big Ten Conference in 2024 - USC Athletics USCTROJANS.COM USC will take the historic step of joining the Big Ten Conference in 2024, a move that will position USC and its student-athletes for long-term success in both athletics and academics.
  10. In the Mountain West, and that's so wrong. So the players are demanding more money, and now so are the individual schools.
  11. Well, those four would be what I mentioned in the post above yours I would assume. (UO, UW, Cal and 'Furd) The only way to preserve the conference is for the have-nots to take a big cut in conference revenue....to pass along to the brats in SoCal, but not as much as what the Big-10 would give, but enough to keep the LA schools on-board. Sure ramps up the hatred when we play them, huh?
  12. A league would want the Bay-Area eyeballs, so I could see Oregon, Washington, Cal and Stanford being an attractive "Pod" for a suitor conference.
  13. OK....that is funny! Many years ago...Joel wrote at FishDuck... Get a Grip! Perspective Needed on 2013 Season FISHDUCK.COM Oh no! How much worse can it possibly get? It's the end of an era! The sky is falling! It's sadder than a country & western love song! In fact, it should be a...
  14. Here is one. Log in | TALKNDAWGS.COM Good people, and many here are from that free forum.
  15. McGee was in the portal and was convinced to stay by Lanning. I believe most of the receivers would have left if Cristobal stayed.
  16. That is a bit over the top, as Oregon has a loaded roster returning. Richardson coming back may have been a buzz-kill for Mookie...
  17. There is not anyway we could rebuild the Pac-12 into a conference with the same prestige and revenues that we currently have--as bad as it is. Thus I see no choice...we have to leave. Do you see it that way?
  18. I have not had a ton of time to digest and ponder, but Our Beloved Ducks are in a pickle. Without the LA markets, the value of the conference is what....half? 40%? I don't like writing it, but we would become a Group-of-5 conference overnight, with a Weedeater Bowl as our target destination, not the Rose Bowl or Playoff. Oregon would have to join one of the remaining Power Conferences, and flight/travel time to the Big-10 is crazy, and the other conferences would be crazier. I am saddened by the implications for our conference brothers, but I have to look out for the Ducks at the moment. If the LA schools went to the Big-10...(and my gut tells me it will happen) then Oregon has to act immediately. Join another Power-5 conference or become irrelevant. Do you agree? That we must leave the Pac-12 and join another conference?
  19. One interesting thing about this idea...you could have two nine team divisions, and you play each member with eight conference games and four non-conference games as the SEC does. Conference Championship of the two divisions...interesting!
