It's official; McNeese won that game, but a final game is being played at 5:30 PM PDT with the winner moving to the Super-Regionals. Congrats to Utah winning, and it appears that Oklahoma State has won and Oregon will play there next weekend.

Brutal and true. The Sports section does not cover minor sports at Oregon, meaning ZERO about Oregon Baseball. But they offer some skimpy coverage of high school sports to encourage people to take the paper while their kids are in school. Oregon football covered from Salem, but we get far more news right here on OBD! The political takes/omissions are...massively unbalanced and not objective at all. Something is not right....it says the bottom of the 5th inning, which means Arkansas should be batting, but they show an improved score of 9-4 for Oregon. So either they have the score messed up on the NCAA site, or they have the inning wrong? Sheesh.

I think that is true at QB, where it makes sense to embrace your strategy of getting a bunch of guys who have upside, but going to the portal for an experienced QB in the meantime.

The No. 1 ranked QB recruit to come to Oregon...is a surprise. Especially considering all the successful QBs who have come to Oregon. The number of "busts" in that top-15 is pretty astounding, and shows that recruiting stars is not always the best predictor of success.

Mater Dei teammates in fellow 5-Star in defensive lineman Aydin Breland and touted receiver Jack Ressler. Husky recruiting over the long-term will put them in the top 30 for talent, but frankly--with that coach he will help them over-achieve to perennial top-15 over time. Dan Lanning's recruiting will put Oregon in the Top-10 for talent, (although this year it could be Top-5?) and with his coaching--a perennial Top-5 Elite status over time?

Washington's recruiting is not terrible, but it is more like what Mark Helfrich did at Oregon. Meanwhile Dan Lanning and his staff are "killing-it" on the recruiting trail, and it was reported that one Big-12 coach stated that "nobody wants to go up against that Oregon staff right now." Ducks are scoring in California, Arizona, Washington and Oregon, in the Midwest with Missouri, Texas and now Oklahoma? In the east in Maryland and Pennsylvania? Whew! The Husky fans are not thrilled, as their current Rivals recruiting ranking is No. 59 in the country with zero 4/5-Star players, while Oregon is No. 6 with nine 4/5-Star players, and it is only May?
