  1. One of the home remodeling programs my wife watches is located in Laurel, Mississippi and the house prices quoted there were insanely low. But then you remember what residents of Alabama say when confronted with the low literacy rates, high mortality rates, etc. concerning their state? "At least we're not Mississippi!"
  2. "Oregon has to stop losing to teams it shouldn’t lose to." Amen to that!
  3. Terrible, filler crap. The title is about the defensive line...but no mention of DJ Johnson...a future 1st Round pick? No mention of Bradyn Swinson? Ok...then make the title about defensive tackles....but then you don't mention Brandon Dorlus? Lazy, lazy stuff where they take a quote and an incomplete search to pump out an article. Geez.... I think Dorlus will have an impact this year?
  4. My FishDuck Friends....I've had two dear friends who have been associated with this site tell me in the last week that they are moving in the future from where they reside, and are looking for a place to retire where the living costs are cheap. Any suggestions for them? I am locked into Eugene, (I can't leave Our Beloved Ducks) but I thought this would be of help for everyone. Where can you buy housing inexpensively, or rent cheaply and live better than the majority of areas? Public transit is important for some... One fellow referred to it as "Looking for Mayberry," as he wants to live in a small town and get to know the people in the community. Thoughts?
  5. Arizona State in the top half of the article, and the standings below that with the Huskies make me ill. I can hear it on the recruiting trail already.... Canzano: Major Pac-12 upset fueled by... equipment-rental company? WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM ASU takes a victory lap.
  6. It is going to be GREAT fun learning about the new RBs, and watching them develop. When there was a portal rating—Irving was rated higher than Bo Nix! Looks like Locklyn killed it!
  7. I wish I had a reaction icon that is slapping the top of a table reacting to a post--as that is what I would have posted to yours! Huskies would never go near you; too many 3rd-degree burns applied to them to want to get close to you!
  8. He must be able to move well, because his size/weight shouts big upside to more bulk, hence he is a longer term project who could be a scholarship player someday. Gotta love an Oregon-boy success story like Ryan Walk...
  9. Too many great lines in that post....humor toward the Beavers at its highest...to select the best. But not only was that funny--it was very true. Why burn our pitchers out ahead of the NCAAs?
  10. Look...I know it is low probability, but if Dillingham has the offense scoring points and drawing attention to Oregon--Bo will be considered one of the reasons why. I love the off-season for conversations like this! Sure. Bo winning the Heisman sounds normal to us!
  11. Every single position group at Oregon has an extraordinary recruiter....we will get ours!
  12. This is precisely right....call JJ before you declare! Canzano: Ex-NFL player says undrafted Oregon Ducks should have called him WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM JJ Birden says he's willing to give honest advice.
  13. Powerful...without saying a word. Three Super Bowl rings do the shouting....
  14. It is funny to me how I truly get foaming at the mouth with fans of some schools, but not Utah. Usually, when a team has kicked your butt badly...twice...you have a fan antipathy toward that team. I don't because I view Utah in the South division as the underdog as Oregon had been in the past trying to compete with Don James, etc., at Washington. And I respect your coach in a big way. Don't get me wrong--I want Oregon to beat Utah in every sport and every time--just as you want to do the same with Oregon, but I just don't have the same venom. I do know some Utah fans really hate Oregon...but I don't feel the same in return. "We want to win, but are good sports." I doubt I am representative of Oregon fans, but I sure have enjoyed the thoughts of Utah fans in this forum along with the very gracious Georgia fans. We have an occasional USC or Cal fan that frankly--has been nice, so I welcome all nice fans who are reasonable...and who can just roll-their-eyes and go along with some of the incendiary things they see posted here about their and other teams at times. Thanks for being here, and yep....I have a thing about helmets! A Rose Bowl sunset gleaming on an Oregon Helmet? Whew!
  15. This is what Oregon fans said for years, as it is great to coach-up the 3-Stars, but why not attract the best to begin with? Our coaches at that time could not recruit at the levels we are now...and yet now we are afflicted with a bit of the "USC Disease" where not all your top players are developed to their fullest. We are hoping that Dan Lanning can achieve the dream; recruit the best and develop them, as they did at Georgia. It will be fun to see if he can...
  16. I still shake my head at the phrase..."a 17 year old sophomore in high school!" What a perversion of the process!
  17. This is insane, IMHO, and makes college recruiting tougher, as you would have college-age players as a senior competing against high schoolers, and thus a player may have already peaked...while in high school? But because of the quarterback recruiting dominoes...this could clear the way for Oregon to have a better shot at an elite 2023 QB. And outstanding research for this article Jordan, as I did not know the rules at the state level, and am glad to see the state of Oregon have minimal protection at least for the younger players.
  18. I am very surprised at No. 1, and how Utah is not No. 1, as I think they have coached up talent and outperformed their recruiting (by great player analysis) by a mile. (The way Oregon used to!) Gotta love No. 12!
  19. Boy, 2025 looks pretty tough for non-conference....and add nine Pac-12 games?
  20. Look...even with my bias--I can't make this stuff up! Someone pushes back and gets clobbered by Pate... How should I feel? "The evidence is there, as Mari is a great recruiter, but lacking as a Coach." Sorry Josh...but I don't buy your upside. Will he improve Miami? Sure, but like Oregon...the bar was low when he takes over. If Cristobal stayed at Oregon this year--there would have been a MASS EXODUS of players, and there already was among offensive linemen and running backs that Lanning saved. The majority of the wide receivers would have entered the portal... The point is--it is not just now, but after the fourth year--how does everyone feel about the future then? Mari can elevate them initially as he did with Oregon for which I am grateful, but he is not a big winner over the long term. I believe this year at Oregon would have been the beginning of a decline that only would have ended with him leaving--one way or another. I am happy with Lanning, very happy.
  21. As Coach Chuck Smith (Smith72) will tell you...."fresh legs matter!" Congrats to Devon!
  22. This thread did not age well, and it was my mistake to bring this in. I am locking the thread, as it is a bit too uncomfortable. Sorry to all! I didn't see this coming...
