  1. Obviously with the incredible exposure--we will attract even more to Eugene. Your typical Oregon vs. B1G team will have TONS more eyeballs on it, and doubling our viewership number should be easy. It sucks to be us, right? 😁 Looking at the Rivals current rankings...we are third in the B1G, and yet No. 6 in the nation? That my Duck-Buddies is a Power-Conference that we are now are part of and should be proud of. Although Josh Pate feels differently than I?
  2. "There is something transcendental about Stanford asking Boise State if they can join their conference."
  3. My Duck-Buddies, I do not know how any of you can endure the long loading times of the pages, and the "origin error" that comes up often. You cannot imagine how frustrated and angry I am with this--and my help is not available for another eight days at an unexpected time of very high traffic. It really pisses me off... So, as frustrating it is to you--I promise you that I am even more so. I was telling NJDuck this, and felt I should share it with everyone...the site breaks even, but it does so over time from the ads. So I get a big bill and gradually pay off the FishDuck Credit card that site expenses are on. Currently, I have a $2,000+ bill, but it should be paid off gradually over the football season. But now I will make it an even tighter margin for paying bills. I am going to go for a separate dedicated server, and not a server that is shared. It will double my hosting costs, and I will cross my fingers that it works out in terms of paying the bills. But it is the only way to have lightning fast loading--which is what we all want. I have had many ask about a donation button, and this is "on-the-list" of things to be done. But you can donate by going to this page, and scrolling down to the "Donate" button. I, and thousands others thank you. It will go to the costs of the site, guaranteed. I love this community and want to treat it better, and wish I did not have to ask... My thanks, Charles
  4. Some great love given to Oregon fans... BTW...if you have not seen the B1G Network...it is not just better than the Pac-12 Network--it is miles ahead. Our audience just got a TON bigger.
  5. From James Crepea on X/Twitter: UO president John Karl Scholz: "We anticipate averaging over $50 million" annually in total media rights."
  6. From Brandon Marcello on Twitter/X: Does Oregon want to play Oregon State every year in all sports after leaving the Pac12? Oregon AD Rob Mullens: "Absolutely."
  7. You are quite welcome to come here and discuss football with us anytime. In fact it would be nice to have some perspective from a fan who has been in the B1G for a while.
  8. EUGENE, Ore. – August 4, 2023 – The University of Oregon will join the Big Ten Conference in 2024. “I’m thrilled that the University of Oregon has the opportunity to join the nation's preeminent academic-athletic conference,” said UO President Karl Scholz. “Our student-athletes will participate at the highest level of collegiate athletic competition, and our alumni, friends, and fans will be able to carry the spirit of Oregon across the country.” The Big Ten Conference voted Friday to accept Oregon effective August 2, 2024. The UO will remain in the Pac-12 Conference for the duration of the Pac-12's existing media rights agreements. The move will benefit UO students and faculty, said Scholz, who, while dean and provost at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, helped shape and observed the benefits of the Big 10 Academic Alliance over the last decade. “The connections we will make with some of the leading research institutions in the world will provide new opportunities for our students, staff, faculty, and university stakeholders,” said Scholz. “The agreement we’ve reached with the Big 10 Conference will help ensure a bright future for the University of Oregon. We are grateful and look forward to a long, robust partnership." Autzen Stadium vs. Michigan State in 2014 In coming years, the UO will prioritize the long-held traditions, including competition across all sports with Oregon State University. The alliance puts UO student-athletes on a national stage, said UO Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Rob Mullens. “Accepting membership into the Big 10 Conference is a transformational opportunity for the University of Oregon to change the short and long-term trajectory of our university and athletics department,” said Oregon athletic director Rob Mullens. “The stability and exposure of joining the Big 10 are of great benefit to the University of Oregon, and we are grateful to the Big 10 presidents for inviting us to join the conference. We look forward to the opportunity for our student-athletes to compete in this league, which includes many of the best programs in the nation in every sport.” With less than two months on the job as the UO’s 19th president, Scholz has already demonstrated leadership through the evolving landscape of changing college athletics. “President Scholz’s calm and insightful style have been invaluable during the conference realignment process and leading to the final deal,” said Steve Holwerda, Chair of the Board of Trustees. “We are fortunate to have him at our helm.” About the University of Oregon The UO is a Carnegie R1 research university and a member of the Association of American Universities. The UO faculty includes a Nobel Prize winner, a MacArthur fellow, a pair of National Medal of Science winners and a recipient of the Pulitzer Prize. The UO has more than 500 student-athletes who compete in 20 sports. UO teams have taken home 38 national championships.
  9. C'mon...is the Mountain West really that bad? Air Force Boise State Colorado State Fresno State Hawaii Nevada New Mexico San Diego State San Jose State UNLV Utah State Wyoming
  10. Let's start a thread for that...
  11. On "X"... MHver3 Hearing now there is a possibility B12 could go to 18 and bring in ASU/Utah/WSU/ORSU all at reduced shares for the remainder of the new contract and give them full membership at the next contract. Developing now so stay tuned.
  12. This is true from James Crepea... "Football is getting ton of focus, but Oregon getting to play Indiana, Purdue, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Wisconsin, etc. in basketball is huge. UO will also immediately be among top teams in B1G in baseball, softball and volleyball."
  13. The Beavers are talking about retaliation...
  14. ...if they had a counting vote in the B1G, but they don't until 2024! Poor Trojans! I never said I was noble....
