  1. If an improved ASU and CU can replace USC/UCLA to keep Utah honest in the south--that could help us? (And the conference)
  2. A lot of heroes in this one, with an update, article coming! The Ducks play in the Tournament Conference Final on Saturday night at 7 PM on ESPN2! ———————— Let's cheer our Our Beloved Ducks on the Pac-12 Network (or online) versus the bastard-Huskies! Again...the batting order before the 'Furd game had SEVEN over .300! Un-Fricken-Believable
  3. I don't think he meant top-five in the conference....
  4. Unbelievable come-back, and more reports coming!
  5. "The Ducks have had a winning program to sell, and a raucous game-day atmosphere, and Daddy Phil’s bucks, and first-class facilities. But they’ve never had someone with this vim at the helm. What could this mean for the Pac-12? Well, all bad things, of course." As I wrote before, Oregon has more 4/5-Star Rivals players verbaled for the 2024 class than the rest of the Pac-12 combined....and then doubled!
  6. Oregon was down 4-0, and then 6-2, to come back and tie it in the ninth, and win it 8-6 in the 10th! They play in the conference semifinal Friday afternoon at 2:30 PM against the Bastard-Huskies! ———————— The Ducks play No. 1 Seed Stanford tonight, and we have our opportunities. 'Furd pitchers gave up 10 runs last night to Cal, and play again tonight, while Oregon used six pitchers, and none more than two innings on Tuesday night. With two days of rest and a low pitch count--I'll be most of the hurlers could go again who held Cal to only two runs. We can do it! My friends...I have NEVER seen this in Oregon Baseball; we had SEVEN hitters going into the Cal game over .300! And the remaining two have good percentages! Wow! One of the new stars is Drew Smith! I know....calm down Charles!
  7. The Women are on ESPN2! Cheer OBD on! If the Softball team wins this best of three, then they would stay in Oklahoma City for the World Series next week. Super Regional At Hand For Ducks - University of Oregon Athletics GODUCKS.COM Oregon opens a best-of-three series at Oklahoma State on Thursday (6 p.m. PT, ESPN2).
  8. As much as I want the Pac-12 to survive and we all prosper....I know Oregon will be fine regardless of where they end up. Dan Lanning is making sure of that on the recruiting trail of HS players, portal transfers and coaches. But if I was an Oregon State or WSU fan and hearing that news? I probably wouldn't have a bowel movement for a week.
  9. It was an interesting article by Jarrid Denney of On3, ScoopDuck, looking at the 30 players who left via the portal, versus the 14 who came to Oregon in terms of experience. (Snaps) As you know, starters don't transfer out, and you are receiving transfers who were rarely starters, although we do have some who left their prior school following injury. Below are a couple of examples from the article demonstrating how we equaled or upgraded the experience at the position with some conclusions. Left: Dont’e Thornton (WR) 306 New:Traeshon Holden (WR) Alabama 308 Left: Moliki Matavao (TE) 335 New: Casey Kelly (TE) Ole Miss 386 Left: Dawson Jaramillo (OL) 77 Left: Bram Walden (OL) 2 New: Ajani Cornelius (OL) Rhode Island 720 New: Nishad Strother (OL) East Carolina 923 Left: Seven McGee (WR) 101 New: Tez Johnson (WR) Troy 350 Left: Bradyn Swinson (EDGE) 144 New: Jordan Burch (EDGE) South Carolina 771 Total for All Who Left: Total snaps played 2,470 Average snaps played per season 82.33 Totals for All Who Joined Us: Total snaps played 5,756 Average snaps played per season 411.14 Wowsa. Talk about addition by subtraction and fantastic recruiting! Danno did book'em! This is a massive upgrade that normally would have taken years for Oregon to achieve via HS recruiting and development. This is why the Ducks have the chance to be GREAT this fall! Calm Down Charles!
  10. No, it is actually two and sometimes three times a night. And yes...I check the forum each time because one of the moderators who left us recently--lived in Europe and was covering for me during our night (daytime for him) and now that help is gone. (He left for the same reason most do--pride. They want special treatment when they break a rule, and when I refuse--they figure they are really hurting me when they leave.) Nope. Life, this forum and the good people here go on!
  11. Boy, has it been amazing in the last week. I have banned FOUR Trolls, and one was this morning--an Auburn fan who was pretty nasty. Fortunately, his post was only visible for 18 minutes because moderator Kamikaze Kid spotted it, hid it and notified me. Be grateful to our moderators! The other three trolls looked VERY suspicious with their handle-names and locations when they signed up, thus I temporarily ban them and send a template email asking for confirmation of who they are and their intent. When they don't answer--they stay banned. There have been many people that I've done that with, but was completely wrong as they emailed back and told me their Oregon story--which is awesome. And they are very nice and forgiving, and understand how I am trying to keep the forum clean. Another this week was a Spammer from another country who tried to slip into the OBD forum in the middle of the night. No way! I check the site on my phone when I get up to go to the Restroom at 2-3:00 AM, and this is how I zap these bastards before they can pollute our GREEN REFUGE. Gosh I love our Moderators!
  12. We loaded the bases a number of times, but could not convert until finally in the 8th inning. But we could not have pulled out the win unless the pitchers kept it close. I said they used five, but that was wrong...they used SIX pitchers total, thus none went very long and can pitch again vs. Stanford on Thursday night! We might see the committee approach through the tournament for the Ducks...
  13. Oregon got great pitching from five different hurlers, with Josh Mollerus, making the save in the ninth! Oregon wins 3 to 2 after trailing the entire game, scoring two in the bottom of the eighth and finishing off the game with a double play in the ninth! The patchwork staff got it done on the mound!
  14. Now the TV listing for the Pac-12 Network in Eugene DOES list the game at 7:00 PM now as Oregon vs. Cal. An Oregon Baseball game on TV...how about that? When we get to a new streaming contract--anybody, not just those with the right cable TV sign-in will be able to watch them online anywhere in the world. A boon for minor sports as well as football.
  15. The level of incompetence considering Larry's compensation is beyond words. I could have been far less incompetent for much less money! He thought he knew what he was doing...
  16. I just about choked on the thought of this being a "golden age" due to NIL, and then I remembered that Bo Nix would probably not be returning for one more year unless there was the 1.5 million...
  17. Well, Cal was in the tournament and got beat in their regional. So four advance out of six from the Pac-12, or as they say, "two-out-of-three ain't bad."
  18. Just the beginning, but the it is a beginning! "Ban "pay-for-play" by prohibiting boosters, collectives and other third parties from "offering inducements to attend or transfer" to specific institutions." Click on article in the tweet from our good friend of the Pac-12...
  19. Experienced, quality depth with 32% at three-point range. Is that good?
  20. That describes my feelings as well. I want him to turn it around, but...
  21. The Ducks trailed the entire game until they scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth, and finished off the game with a double play in the ninth! Ducks score late to claim Pac-12 Tournament win - University of Oregon Athletics GODUCKS.COM Oregon scores two runs in the eighth to pick up the come-from-behind win Logan Mercado got the win, but Grayson Grinsell had his first start for two innings.
  22. That is a great example, the exception to my axiom. I never said it was 100%, but a good indicator for me. It works the majority of the time with players, coaches, writers, editors, etc. Another exception are Oregon Baseball pitchers; Jace Stoffal was awful in the beginning last year, but improved to where this year he did something NO Oregon pitcher as ever done and won the Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week three times.
  23. They have a HUGE mess to untangle in the B1G right now, and slicing their pie further to invite new teams? I don't see it... While it is a bizarre thought...this could give us some closure about the "going to the B1G" anytime soon. We will have to live with the 5-6 year media deal arrived at, and address options later with the B1G as Jon has written about. Oregon will survive and prosper; Dan will have us winning no matter what conference we are in.
  24. Thank you, and another major element is the historical consistency of the rankings. With Rivals...I can compare to prior classes and know there is consistency. ESPN does not have it down even now, and 247 bought their historical stats from Scout.com, whom was owned by a Husky. Oregon verbals consistently got downgraded once they committed to Oregon under that group rankings. 247 has good rankings now, although easier to get to 4/5-Star than Rivals, but often the team rankings come out very similar at the end the year between 247 and Rivals. It is just that for my subjective analysis of recruiting classes...I need to know how many 4/5-Star players there are in this class, and when looking back in Oregon's recruiting history to compare prior classes--I know those numbers are not skewed by a damn Husky. Thus why I use Rivals...
