  1. This game will make a big difference in RPI, in seeding for the NCAA and we have this game at PK Park! Ducks host #10 Gonzaga Tuesday - University of Oregon Athletics GODUCKS.COM It's the first of four games against ranked teams at PK Park this week
  2. (Oregon Athletic Dept. Press Release to Credentialed Media) EUGENE, Ore. — The Oregon football team’s 2022 season opener against Georgia in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game on September 3 will kick off at 12:30 p.m. PT on ABC, the network announced on Tuesday morning. The game will be played at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta and will be the first meeting between the Ducks and the Bulldogs since 1977. This will be Oregon’s first appearance in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game. First-year head coach Dan Lanning will make his Oregon debut against his former team after helping lead Georgia to the national championship last season before taking over full time in Eugene. Lanning directed the top defense in the nation throughout his three seasons as the Bulldogs’ defensive coordinator, allowing just 13.6 points per game during that stretch. Oregon’s allotment of tickets for the game is already sold out due to the incredible support of the Ducks’ season ticket holders and donors.
  3. I am completely sold on Dan Lanning, but I am not yet on George K., as I felt more could have been done with the Alliance. Your thoughts?
  4. If I had a son who was a running back? I would want this guy coaching him...
  5. My Utah friend...I cannot tell you how many times that Oregon has been promoted as something great, the players get puffed up and then fall to an opponent they shouldn't. (See Stanford game, 2021 for the most recent example) It is really hard to not believe the press clippings, and thus not have the same determination that you had...such as when you faced Oregon the first time last year. It can be the same team, the same coaches and the same talent as before, but a different effort given by the players. So many times Oregon has tripped over their egos, and it is a BIG FACTOR for Utah, and not only do the players not have any experience with it--neither does your coach. You could have your best team ever by the end of the season, but have two losses that shouldn't have happened. It is human nature, and it is real. If Utah can overcome that, then you ARE the champions and will deserve it. (And I like the thought of Our Beloved Ducks being the underdog at Autzen when the Utes come to town)
  6. Duck fans...you like being the underdog? I know I do, and Utah has no experience at being the "hunted," as it is quite a different mind-set. Pac-12 Football: USC, Utah or Oregon: Which Team is the Favorite to Win the Conference in 2022? - AthlonSports.com | Expert Predictions, Picks, and Previews ATHLONSPORTS.COM Examining whether USC, Utah or Oregon should be the favorite to win the Pac-12 in the 2022 college football season.
  7. Dorlus is looking better and better for a monster year? (Love that picture!)
  8. That was great fun in that video--thanks for posting it!
  9. Rob Mullens gets a lot of grief, and it has been deserved on some of the football contracts in the past, but cannot be denied is that he has created a ton of winning at Oregon. He has made quite a few good hires, and Coach Lanning might be his best yet. Thanks for the factoid!
  10. More on Monday from our FishDuck Correspondent, Bruce Nelson, who was at the meet and reported for us.
  11. Very little coach-speak here, as she explains what is crucial..."the first game is most important."
  12. His team lost, but he scores 30 points, calls his teammate out when he sees lack of effort....just as he did at Oregon. He wills his teams to victory, and gosh did we miss him!
  13. Amen, Duck-Brother. Between that and Lanning's rep at Georgia...we may have days ahead of on defense we never imagined in the past.
  14. PHOENIX – Oregon used an offensive explosion in the middle innings to lock up its first ever series win over Arizona State on the road with a 15-5 win in the weekend finale Sunday. The Ducks (31-21, 15-12 Pac-12) also broke the program single-season runs scored record with 391 on the year now, passing the old mark of 379 that was set last season. How it Happened: After ASU struck first with a run in the first inning, Oregon responded with four runs in the third inning to take the lead. A trio of Ducks worked walks to load the bases before Drew Cowley drove in all three with a two-out double to make it 3-1. Josh Kasevich followed one batter later with a first-pitch single to score Cowley, giving the Ducks a 4-1 lead. The Ducks added five more in the fourth inning to blow things open and take a 9-1 lead. After Gavin Grant drove in one run with a slash bunt, RBI single and a Colby Shade squeeze bunt scored two more, Brendan Milone came around to score on a double and two-base error to make it 8-1. Kasevich capped off the scoring in the inning with his second RBI of the day, this time on a double to score Cowley. Oregon continued its onslaught in the fifth with two runs to open up a 10-run lead. Tanner Smith beat out an infield single to score Bennett Thompson before Grant came in to score on an error by ASU’s pitcher, stretching the lead to 11-1. After ASU (25-27, 13-14 Pac-12) scored two in the bottom of the fifth, Jacob Walsh answered back for the Ducks in the sixth with a two-run shot to right center to make it 13-3. The Sun Devils added one more in the bottom of the inning but UO responded with two more after Cowley delivered an RBI single and Anthony Hall added a run-scoring double to cap off the scoring for the Ducks. Box Score Notes: The Ducks won a road series against either Arizona or Arizona State for the second time in school history, with the only other time coming in 2012 against the Wildcats in Tucson … Oregon broke the program single-season runs scored record now with 391 on the season, topping the previous record of 379 that was set last season … The Ducks scored double-digit runs for the 13th time this year and 15 or more runs in a game for the eighth time … Cowley finished 3-for-6 while matching career-highs with four RBIs and three runs scored … Kasevich also went 3-for-6 while driving in a pair of runs … Hall doubled twice while going 3-for-6 with an RBI and a run scored … Milone also finished with a pair of doubles while scoring three runs, finishing 2-for-3. Up Next: The Ducks will play four games at PK Park to end the regular season starting Tuesday, May 17 at 6 p.m. against Gonzaga.
  15. Oregon baseball history was made today, as this team is the first in Oregon history to win a series at Arizona State.
  16. The heat is now up to 105°—they reported! The only thing hotter, are the bats of Our Beloved Ducks!
  17. In my article written today and in the comment below, I give kudos to four of the assistant coaches Lanning brought in that have been exceptional thus far in recruiting. While it augers well, we just have to wait and see if he actually gets it done in December and February. I would bet yes, but we don’t have a big enough sample size to extrapolate as much as we would want. Some fantastic quotes in that article by a highly regarded recruiting analyst. Whew!
  18. It is a little league home run! Brennan Malone hits a blooper for base one, and tries to stretch for second base. The outfielder muffs the throw to second base, and then it is overthrown going to third, and he scores! As polished as college baseball is, and the degree of athleticism, it is something you almost never see.
  19. Wowsa, 98 degrees? Bound to be over 100 by 3:00 PM…
  20. In crediting the coaches...I made an oversight, although it would have pulled the article beyond 1,000 words. I should have mentioned how Defensive line Coach Tony Tuioti has killed it as well. First he convinced defensive line verbals Ben Roberts and Sir Mells to stick with Oregon, when it appeared we would lose both. Then he killed-it in the portal getting a massive nose tackle from Washington to come to Oregon, as well as two defensive linemen from his Nebraska team. The last one, Casey Rogers, looks like he could be starter here, were it not for Brandon Dorlus... Oh wait! There's more as he received a verbal from 2023 recruit Tevita Pome'e, who was offered by USC and Washington...thus his impact at Oregon has been huge in this short time. I was "iffy" about this hire from Lanning originally, and like the RB coach....Coach Lanning knew a whole lot more than I!
  21. Do you agree with John on this? Canzano: Pac-12 Conference is fighting more effectively under George Kliavkoff WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM Laughter at conference has stopped.
  22. Our friend ICAMEL is not available, but we can certainly comment in a thread!
  23. "To find it in your heart..." To see others with the same antipathy toward those teams that I do!
