  1. Boy....he makes a great case for ESPN and the Pac-10 to work together....and not. He is bringing great information that we are not receiving from the talking-head "sources." Did you know I did quite the article on Canzano back-in-the-day? How John Canzano Inspired FishDuck FISHDUCK.COM How John Canzano inspired FishDuck (Charles Fischer) to make the fan site, FishDuck.com a santuary for Oregon fans from the cesspool of the usual sports media.
  2. Nope. Utah is the most important IMHO. Doesn't matter what happens in the Georgia game by the end of the season because by then--Oregon will be a much different team under this new staff. But we gotta beat Utah to get into the conference championship for certain. I will admit that payback does enter into it, but it is not a hatred or anything as I highly respect their program. And they were dumped on by the LA schools as we were. If we win that game... ...a conference championship with USC would then be the biggest game. Regardless of the Playoff--get into the Rose Bowl again!
  3. I could not believe my eyes as I read part of an article referring to how Justin Flowe could be a high NFL Draft pick next spring. What? He's only played in two games! But two years have passed and with this being his third year...he is eligible for the NFL Draft in April of 2023. Here's hoping he sets the world on fire this fall for his benefit and Oregon's!
  4. To me, the craziest part is the foolishness of a new coach to change what was working so well. Charles....he is gone now...let it go!
  5. And this does not include how Oregon was the first team in NCAA history to score 45 points a game for five years straight...
  6. How can it get any better than that? Coming from an assistant coach--Wowsa. That is one incredible culture Lanning is building! Something tells me...
  7. There are few people out there who are a bigger fan of what Chip did at Oregon than I....but I agree with JDuck on this.
  8. Just as Clemson did when they rose from the ashes of losing to dominate their conference and go on to Playoffs and 'Nattys. What I worry about is...to compete with B1G/SEC programs in football, more of the budget pie at Oregon will need to go to football and thus sports will have to be cut. I know I've said this before, and I guess I am just trying to get used to the idea.
  9. Good gosh I hope you are right! You need a savvy media negotiator who has experience, and I'm glad we have George and not Larry!
  10. Let's see the on-field results before you write the conference or Oregon off. You may be pleasantly surprised...
  11. CountryProf...it is great to have you on-board as a new member. Thanks for the stats, and do post often--WELCOME!
  12. Wowsa. This is pretty amazing.... "Without a doubt (this staff is special). That's why we all came here," said Love. "When Coach Lanning put together a staff of incredible people, everybody had options, everybody wanted all these coaches to go to different schools, so it wasn't just Oregon was their only option. He got people that are elite, but the most important thing that he did was he got coaches that care about the kids, and it's real. And that's the best thing about what coach did is get real coaches who want to serve the kids, who want to create greatness for themselves and their families. But more importantly for the players. And what he's created here, and it's pretty incredible. And we're so excited to be part of this chapter."
  13. If you put this together with the Canzano article...it would seem that the upcoming announcement in the above article would give support to ESPN, and assure that evil channel, that yes--we intend to stick together and thus you can put together a good package for us. Or would the announcement be for other entities? The streaming services?
  14. Some good information here, although this makes me pause.... • Thompson negotiated dozens of these kinds of deals with a variety of conferences in his career. He said that ESPN may decide to make a shrewd offer to the Pac-12, knowing that it if it’s rejected, the conference is likely to fall apart and have a handful of members end up with the Big 12. “ESPN,” he said, “can then go after those rights buoyed by the fact that they have $$$ in their pocket that they didn't pay the Pac 12.” For me, it is a article that tortures me with the possibilities, because ESPN could save the Pac-10, or destroy it. The thought that we are in ESPN's hands....our destiny is tied to their decisions and working with them makes me ill.
  15. I just don't know if she has the personality to be the leader that is needed.....
  16. Well BlazerDuck, it would not happen without all the volunteers that are writers, editors, moderators, and Duck News Hunters. Working together, we make it work and keep both sites free for all! Representing all of us on the staff as volunteers…thank you!
  17. I was wondering when somebody would notice that word that I bolded, as I found it pretty hilarious that he was referring to higher academics when he can hardly write correctly! I could not make this stuff up…
  18. I take the “good or good” approach with other teams in the conference playing in big nonconference games. If they win, it’s good for the conference. If they lose, then that’s pretty good too! The problem is with in-conference games for me. When Washington plays USC… Why can’t they both lose?
  19. BlazerDuck-you are new here, and have started out with great posts. Please post often, and welcome!
  20. As of the games were not going to be intense enough..,that guy can generate hate for life.
  21. I do not have words for the stupidity, the delusion, and the malicious intent toward Oregon... (From a USC Forum) "As a final finger to the Ducks I’m assuming you put in a clause that SC has veto power over any additional P12 teams joining the B10? I hate them so much, I hope they end up in the Mountain West." "Nah, pity them and schedule them as a non conference cupcake every year. Need to have a few mountain west teams in the schedule." "I’m fine with Oregon coming. They get solid ratings, have a ton of Nike money, and have shown they aren’t a true threat to USC." "If Oregon joins the BIG10, it's because of USC. As much as their fans say otherwise, the Big10 conference negotiated with USC first! So any more approvals, it's because we allowed it. Oregon wants to be USC so bad and they never will be. Nobody thinks about them at all." "I'm not sure Oregon would be excepted. A number of B10 Presidents welcomed SC and UCLA highlighting academics and research credibility. For B10 schools academics is important. Oregon is Pot-Head U.... with Poor/suspect academics.... also it does not have a a must have-market. A little flash because of football is not going to be enough." "Academically, Oregon is like a community college….B1G does not want that!" "I’m thinking the MWC. You guys owe Boise State a payback or three." "Given the histories of both programs, I personally feel that it is significantly more likely that USC starts skyrocketing compared to the last 12 years, and Oregon begins to decline from the last 12 years."
  22. Some humor? You have to admit that this below would suck....
  23. Interesting how these things play out...
  24. Yes, I get how we get left out of big money not being in the B1G, but playing in the B1G would just feel SO WRONG. Iowa instead of Arizona? If I want a frigid game...I'd rather play Washington State in November instead of Minnesota. Stay in our region! Thoughts?
