Oregon Ducks Favored by 21 Points Against Colorado: Too High?
I feel the same way, Oregon should cover but if coach Prime comes up with a great game plan this could come down to the wire and a one score game. The other thing that could go wrong is Oregon gets way too many penalties.

Oregon Got Some Stud Baseball Transfers...
We could certainly use a few more good pitchers, hope these guys are them.

Big Recruiting Weekend
Great point, they do have that feeling of being scrappy and Sanders is that kind of QB that wills pas to happen. Although Adams was much better at throwing on the run, he could throw a perfect 35 yard lob while backpedaling. Never underestimate your opponent. That being said the Ducks have the ability to put this team away early and just keep rolling to the end. If they don't it will be because of penalties and just dumb mistakes.

Defensively, Ducks Becoming a Threat!
Even better than him getting the start is that his only stat was 1 tackle, which I believe he made in run support. I can't even remember them throwing the ball in his general direction. It's been a little while since the Ducks have had a lockdown corner. I really hope he's the next one in long line of great Oregon corners.

Oregon Ducks Football: 5 Keys to Beating Colorado
I really hope that we get back to that strategy. The most exciting, entertaining, and down right fun games ever where during the CK days. This game plan is also recommended by all of our cardiologists.

Should Oregon Play to its Passing Attack Strengths?
I personally was asking why we were getting so many receivers when we we're already loaded. Make more sense if your throwing the ball a lot. Don't know if you can ever have enough DBs in this league and apparently they make great LBs as well. The whole scheme seems to lean towards defending against the pass hence the DB's playing at the LB spot. Outside of the front 4 guys playing on the line they all seam to be DBs.

Bryce Boettcher - Another Eugene Product & Surprise
He's one of the most impressive freshmen this year and looks like he belongs. He consistently around the ball and seems to be in the right position most the time! He's also got some intangibles that remind me of Dye. Looks like he could be that leader we've been lacking at LB that gets everyone fired up. His future is bright on both the gridiron and the diamond.

Should Oregon Play to its Passing Attack Strengths?
Top 5 passing teams in n the nation after week 3 1 Washington 2 Colorado 3 Washington State 4 USC 5 Oregon Looks to me that Oregon is already playing to its passing game strength. But it may have to do so even more to keep up with the rest of the PAC-12.

I really want CSU to win this one but it would be better for us if they didn't. Always hate the Juxtaposition.

Bama in Trouble This Year?
Looks like the PAC 12 and the SEC switched their MO this year. PAC is dominating the out of conference games schedule and SEC is making it look hard. Georgia didn't look good either.

Other Pac12 Games Thread
14-14 at the end of the first, Colorado is looking less than efficient especially their run game and and their D.

It would be great if both Texas and Tennessee lose. Down with SEC.

No Sacks! No Defense! No Problem for Oregon
One thing to keep in mind, as another fishduck article stated a lot of the starters were true freshmen or underclassmen that probably won't start this weekend. It makes perfect sense that these guys would give up a lot more yardage and a score. When the true starters rotated in there was a lot more three and outs and better coverage. While sacks are flashy and create a lot of excitement, selling out to get them can cause more damage than good. There's a lot of great running quarterbacks in this league and if you try to sack them instead of contain them you're going to get burnt more often than not. I didn't get to watch the whole game but what I saw it didn't seem like there was a whole lot of blitzing. Getting pressure with four players rushing and forcing quick throws is a great strategy to keep the ball in front of you and limit explosion plays. The strategy also limits the amount of time that wide receivers have to get open meaning more contested passes. It's much easier to get separation further down the field where there's less defenders. I believe this is more philosophy and strategy then lack of effort. If you lose contain on these modern-day QBs they can rip off 20 yards pretty easily. Which is demoralizing to the defense. Make then use their arm to beat you and make them do it in a collapsing pocket.

Whoa! Bodacious in the NY Times?
Those 5 start QB's should be lining up to become a Duck. Like it or not the NFL loves those well known QB's as they drive attendance and views. It's all about the brand now days.

Supposed Apple+ TV Contract Offer to the PAC
Want to know why Apple has more cash than any other corporation, because they never make deals that aren't in their favor. If that was the best the PAC could come up with then I guess it was inevitable Oregon was going to bounce. Amazon was the only real streaming only option in my opinion. They spend cash with just a little more reckless abandonment we just caught them in a bad time.

Pac-12 Expansion: The Case for Boise State
I believe the footprint of of BSU viewership is much larger than just Boise same as Oregon is much bigger than just Eugene. The viewership growth will come from playing other PAC teams on nationally televised games. How many people on this forum are even able to watch a Boise State game if they wanted to? I for one in Montana cannot watch a BSU games easily. BSU with their blue field and absolute rabid fan base will do quite well with greater TV exposure. SDSU games are available to a huge population and still have very poor viewership, not that I believe that SDSU shouldn't be part of the PAC but that BSU is in just as favorable a position if not more. I know anything out of the West Coast is not desirable to the media people with their headquarters on the coast but us people in the middle are extremely avid football watchers. When it really comes down to it football is decentralizing and becoming a nationwide sport with fan bases all over the world not just in the city that they are based in. Brand and brand loyalty will be the basis going forward for viewership. I know to people on the west coast Boise is the middle of nowhere but I'm five times more likely to root for them than I am a Southern California team.

Pac-12 Expansion: The Case for Boise State
cartm25, I believe your thought process on this is correct, living in Montana I see BSU gear all the time. The media market in rural states are much larger geographically than a small college in a big city in Texas that also has big time competitions from a top tier programs in the same city. I would definitely count the close to 2 million people in Idaho as part of the market and quite a few of the rural parts of Eastern Oregon, South East Washington, Northern Nevada and Western Montana as well. Ten years ago when BSU was doing well the only only jerseys that out number BSU here in Montana was the Montana schools. PS I'm 9 hours drive from Boise. I have never liked the media market metric as it make assumptions about the reach of any given market as being a very small geographical area. This may be true in Dallas or Houston area but it's not true in many of the best college towns of US. You have to look no further than North Bend or Eugene to prove this. Just promoting any of these teams to the PAC will raise their viewership can SDSU over come BSUs lead? BSU fans are as dedicated and hardcore as they come can we say the same for the SoCal market? Jugging from the current viewership I'd take BSU as favorite to be ahead of SDSU in viewership if they where both invited into to the PAC at the same time. SDSU taking away USC viewers is nothing but a pipe dream. There's just too many other things to do in Southern California than football. Compare that with the middle of nowhere Idaho where the only thing to do is football.

Good Faith Questions About STREAMING
Yes, the second they didn't get Direct TV and Spectrum/Comcast to sign up nationally they should have taken it Direct to Consumer (DTC). I for one would have been a subscriber not just for football but baseball, basketball and the occasional track meet. I forget what the PAC Networks got for their TV deal but if 10 million viewers payed $5 a month for a subscription I'm sure that would be sufficient to cover the cloud computing bill and increased the payouts to the teams. This would have also kept the the PAC nationally relevant by not have 3/4 of the nation have to switch TV providers or sign up for $70 of sling TV a month to be able to watch all the PAC games.

Is That RIGHT? Prime Kicks Off a Player in Front of Team?
I can definitely see your point. Maybe a better tact would be to talk to the team captains in private making them accountable for the rest of the team. This including them in the process and increasing their leadership responsibilities to make sure this behavior is not condoned. Not knowing what this player did makes it a lot harder to speak to but it seemed that all the players knew it was going on.
