  1. I'm going with BSU I just think ASU might have a really hard time containing the run game for obvious reasons. Dilly's offense could definitely pose problems to BSU's D but ultimately I think BSU gets the win on the back of their O.
  2. I'll bite, they called this game pretty loose especially in the secondary. They didn't call a lot of penalties for as many as were committed. Many a hold on PSU O line, facemask on PSU, hand fighting on both sides, push offs on both sides, blocking down field on both sides. The important part was the refs were just letting them play rather than legislating a game. When it affected the play they called the foul, exactly how it should be.
  3. It's all about the money, ESPN loses money because Bama is not in the playoffs guess what the committee will do. Every one outside the SEC knows they had their chance and blew it but money talks.
  4. Sloppy first half by Texas, not sure what Georgia is doing but if you can't catch the ball I'm not sure what you do.
  5. Georgia's D looking pretty vulnerable on the back end.
  6. I would like to see some big shots down field to Stewart as I don't think they have anyone who can hang with him. If OBD can get up a couple of TD's it's going to be very hard for PSU to come back from.
  7. I'd put Penn State firmly in the middle somewhere on parity with Boise State.
  8. Thanks for bringing this up. I was thinking about this during the recent discussion of coach Day and his win percentage. Add in the SEC parity this year and it looks a lot like the PAC-12 with a lot of teams that can knock off just about anyone in the conference. This doesn't mean that the conference was weak but just the opposite making it very difficult for there to be a dominant team.
  9. When it comes down to it SMU hasn't played Alabama and all the musings of the pundits about well Alabama played the tougher schedule are irrelevant when you lose like they have. SMU getting penalized for playing another game and a total of two more conference games than Alabama should count for something. The only way we'll know if SMU is worthy is by putting them in the playoffs and letting them prove it. We already know Alabama isn't worthy.
  10. The depth of this team is definitely a huge advantage. Seems to me that there's 10 guy who can score 20 points in any given game.
  11. Shelstad stepping it up down the stretch. Love this team they take turns being the man to step up.
  12. Keep taking it to the rim and make those free throws.
  13. They're definitely walking and chewing gum. They definitely need to change this insanity maybe just push it all to the late signing.
  14. I get it there is no known entity to replace him and he's probably the best choice out there at this time. I hope they hold on to him forever and he never gets a single bit better at the small things, advantage Ducks! Eventually if you can't beat the Ducks and the Wolverines recruiting will fall off. All the better for us! Go ducks Thanks for the great discussion.
  15. You're not going to win it all unless you have the guys but you also have to have the coach that motivates those guys and puts together a cohesive game plan otherwise you can have all the talent in the world and it won't get you anywhere. Day has had 4 years and hasn't improved upon his big game coaching ability. He's not out there finding every advantage and making excellent game time decisions he's sitting back relying on the Jimmies and the Joes to do it for him. Not that it's not possible for pure talent to win the national championship but it gets easier with a great coach. Small mental mistakes are the difference between sliding a second earlier and setting up a game winning field goal and losing the game. We've all seen this happen in different regards to different teams but well coached players tend not to make this mistake. Lanning is getting better at not making these mistakes. Saban, Smart and other great coaches of the past have grown over the years to become better at the small things that make all the difference in the big games. Will Day grow as a coach or will he continue to make the small mental mistakes. I'm not denying that he easily has the most talented team in the nation this year yet he still has lost two games.
  16. I was referring to Justin Herbert who Mario made look like a mid-tier QB. Sorry I should have been more specific.
  17. The real question is did the coach make the team or the team make the coach? As Mario showed us you can have a top level NFL QB but if you don't use them right or coach them right you're not going anywhere.
