  1. I'm liking the pitching rotation, using lots of pitchers for short stretches keeps your options open and your arms fresh.
  2. Wow how about that pitching and sold D by the Ducks. They look like they did midseason, very efficient with all weals turning, no errors in strategy or judgment. The hitting has been sold all year, seams like records are falling left and right!
  3. I'm starting to think Nishida might be good at DAT role on the football field lol.
  4. Betcher looks the part of a safety to a T, literally a center fielder!
  5. Just joining the game, sounds like it's just getting good!
  6. They're definitely better in a lot of sports than Colorado is. Football's definitely better, basketball way better and baseball doing pretty good. Not sure about the other sports but the first 2 is all that matters to the media.
  7. Unfortunately your 100% right. Other options might be you have to buy the outrageous expensive comprehensive game coverage mega package!
  8. Thanks for the replays, had to listen on Internet radio while I worked. The pitching down the stretch and a few errors on Xavier made all the difference in this one.
  9. Streaming and most Internet related media is all about the views not the potential market. Bring these two things together has to be a nightmare. It would be interesting if the media deal included a base sum with a royalty payment based on viewership number.
  10. This is probably a good indication of why the PAC deal is taking so long. Lots and lots of complicated negotiations with multiple parties involved. The PAC 12 Networks having not been sold off may just be the one thing that Larry did right, just maybe.
  11. This is true but Amazon has the cloud infrastructure in place to handle as much streaming demand as the world can throw at it. I think either of these companies are in a place where the cash is not super relevant but it's still going to have to make good business sense. The one thing ESPN has that no one else has is talented sports announcers, camera operators, sports media market experience and integration with sporting news and statistics. The PAC 12 networks, unfortunately, doesn't even come close. I do agree that the best use is for them to transition to and or be bought out by one of the streamers.
  12. So unfortunate as they where looking really good thur the mid season, really thought this was the year for them to make a run.
  13. I would not be surprised if someone like Amazon puts together an online bundle at some point in the future. Currently you can get MGM, Showtime, and AMC subscription thru Prime and they are integrated into the Prime interface. The executives at ESPN and Fox won't leave money on the table. We might see a payper view model for big games or they could give them away for free because the ad revenue would be so much greater on championship or playoff games.
  14. Not a big fan of Apple Tv to small of a subscriber base, Amazon has the subscribers but there will be growing pains. ESPN currently has it all, put that together with all the other sports content they have and a subscription is a no brainier for any sports fan. ESPN could cut out the middle man and keep allot more advertising revenue or use it to lock up more media rights. Smart move on their part. Personal I think the schools need to cut out their middle man, the conferences. How much money did the PAC 12 waste under Larry that could have gone to the schools? I think eventually this will happen at the big schools, they're not going to want to continue to give a big chunk of their media money to the Vanderbilt and Rutgers of the world. If Oregon made a deal with ESPN for say $2 a view Oregon would have ended up with 57.2 million last year, not bad. Now consider that viewership would be higher due to world wide reach, no blackouts and on demand. The ceiling is much higher than anything the PAC will ever bring to the Ducks. This is more inline with how internet marketing model works. Fishduck gets paid by the view not the potential viewership of some arbitrary media market. It's all about the money this will happen eventually.
  15. This would go a long way to speeding up the game without changing the overall dynamic. If you change first down clock stoppage I feel that you need to change the passing interference penalty to a spot foul as to not unduly influence come back attempts which we all love.
  16. I agree totally with you on this one, if the games are too long there's many other ways to speed things up, number one is instant replay. How many instant replays take several minutes when most everyone knows what the answer is in 5 seconds. The referee should never have to walk to a monitor to initiate a replay when a couple guys in the booth should already know by the time they get to the sideline.
  17. Love the picture of Funa as he has learned to drop into coverage and is really starting to get the hang of it! If Bassa gets a little better at tackling and taking better angles to the ball he could be the difference maker. He also needs to step up and be the leader that's been missing the last few years. I'm really high on Jacobs as his instincts seem to be very solid, I only recall one play from the spring game he was out of position. Hill moving to LB seems like a great move, just a little slow to cover the slot and it seemed quicker receivers always had a step on him. Always a solid tackler with great zone instincts and ability to cover TEs in man to man. These three guys should make up a very solid rotation. Let's hope they can get it done.
  18. A decent receiver but I think his locker room presence is probably a distraction, his attitude on the field is less than stellar. If I remember correctly he got more than a couple stupid PIs.
  19. He dose seem to have some Mariota traits. When passing plays break down he scrambles with intent to pass first run second. Throws very accurate passes mid stride while running. Has amazing speed and a nice little wiggle in the run game. Nice touch on his passes and seams to have a good feel on how hard he can throw it. Looks like his WRs need a lot of help and few if any are going on to college. Could be the reason he's only 3*. Could be heavily underrated, just hope he can transition to the big time.
  20. Bucky dropped the ball allot to start last year, do well give them the benefit of the doubt.
  21. Let him bomb it, worst case scenario 45 yd interception best case scenario touchdown. The deep throws look to be one his strength anyways. This year's WR core looks to be one of the most lethal ever. Tez looks like a legit threat to take it to the house every time. Holden is a solid possession guy, Hudson has become more consistent and smarter, Franklin is the man and almost always seams to have a step on the defense. With these guys he'd have a hard time not doing something great down field. All of these guys go and get the ball and don't wait for it to come to them, which I love to see. Please don't ask him to lightly throw a ball to someone behind him when there's better options.
  22. Already wise beyond his years, got to love a coaches kid. He looked very capable of having a big impact soon, with great instincts and the athleticism to keep with speedy WR.
  23. The SEC transfers looked good, a little rusty but an upgrade across the board. Happy with the secondary for the most part. Looked like the guys competing for starting positions where not giving up a lot of easy passes. TTs looking better but not great, first pass of the game was 6 for the defense. Funa looks like he's picking up where he left off and could be a big factor on the edge this year. Surprised the D line didn't get more pressure on the QB which might be due to not being able to touch him. Was hoping to see more out of the LBs.
  24. This team is really starting to run on all cylinders, both on offence and defend. Really fun to watch a team that disciplined and make very few mistakes. Go Ducks.
