"It was a difficult decision to postpone this Saturday's game against USC," Cal athletic director Jim Knowlton said in a statement. "We know how important every one of our games is to our student-athletes, especially our seniors who have been incredible representatives of the program, but it was the right thing to do. "Due to additional impact on specific position groups, we have decided to postpone Saturday's game. We have had multiple COVID-19 positives within our program, and we are taking every step we can to mitigate the spread and protect the greater community." Cal was undermanned for its game at Arizona on Saturday, with approximately 42 scholarship players in uniform after roughly two dozen tested positive during the week. It's a bit ironic, early in the season I was thinking WR's would flip because the passing game was atrocious. Now I can see them flipping cause there is so much young talent and the ball is being spread around so much they might not get to stand out as the star on the team. That said, I always think it's tough for a kid to pick where they want to go to college and never fault them for having a change of heart.

It's going to be awkward when Jimmy is let go due to not meeting UW academic standards.

CFP all the way... still a lot of football to be played between now and then though.

The UW game should be interesting since they have a pretty good pass defense, it'll be interesting to see if we can still move the ball downfield well through the air although I do expect us to lean on the run game more.

Admittedly I do not know much about the academics at Washington, but this is the first I've heard someone compare them to Notre Dame, Stanford, and USC.

I think if the offense that we've had the past two games keeps showing up opposing teams are definitely going to be feeling a bit wary of it. The bend don't break defense hasn't really looked all that intimidating, it seems to mostly rely on timely interceptions. I'm really kinda blown away we had 1 sack against Colorado when the previous week Cal had 6.
