Eggshell Uniforms Making a Comeback
deschutesduck replied to Southwest Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Not my cup of tea but I'm not the one wearing them. I have wondered what the design would look like if the eggshell uniforms were green and the drunk paint splotches yellow. -
Oregon at No. 10, Utah at No.17 in Playoff Rankings
deschutesduck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
The problem with rankings is... well you'd probably have to watch every game of every team taking notes the entire time to even come remotely close to getting it right... and then you still wouldn't. In the instance of Utah, 2 of their losses were while Charlie Brewer was starting at QB at the beginning of the year... take those away and they're a 1 loss team. Now you can say you have to take the entire season into account... but that doesn't reflect who the team is at the end of the season and how they would do in the playoffs. I think Utah should definitely be higher... i say as someone who hasn't watched every game of the teams above them and don't know if they have similar excuses. -

Well this isn't exactly surprising... -
Moorhead Focused on the Championship Game Against Utah

I think it's because he has deep ties to Utah. He played at BYU, coached there, the farthest he's strayed was up into Idaho for a couple years. He's been the head coach of Utah since 2004 and there are rumors of him wanting to retire soon, I can't imagine him being poached.

That sounds like she's really not doing very well... sending some positive vibes her way.

Oklahoma had No Idea that Riley was Leaving
deschutesduck replied to 30Duck's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I would never tell my boss or anyone I work with that I was looking for a new job before I landed it, no good can come from telling people. -
Departing Coaches, Transfer Portal and Immediate Eligibility
deschutesduck replied to geoquack's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I know a lot of people feel that way but telling a kid he can't play for a year just feels like punishment to me, it's basically a 1 year suspension. I picture a kid lured to Norman by Riley on the promise of being developed into an NFL quality player and play for national championships. The kid likes USC better but hey... Clay Helton... OU is okay and will be fine for a few years of school. Well now Riley is at USC... Look at how the kids and their parents and everyone raves about Cristbol making the team feel like a family. Sure he's selling the kids on Oregon but also on himself and the program he's running, I think it should be made easier not harder for a kid to follow his head coach if that coach leaves. -
Orgeron to UW would make sense... he said he was going to take at least a year off from coaching and that's basically what Jimmy did when he was there

It just occurred to me with it being silly season maybe we should have a general coaching rumors thread?

I think I'd rather be OC at Oregon than HC at Akron... "Oregon offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead has emerged as the leading candidate to be the next head coach at Akron, according to sources. A deal could be finalized within the next 24 hours. Moorhead spent five years as an assistant coach at Akron from 2004-2008, including the school’s only MAC football championship in 2005 and two seasons as offensive coordinator."

Departing Coaches, Transfer Portal and Immediate Eligibility

I don't see any reason to punish a player that likes his coach, if the coach can go the player should be able to as well. -
He should have pulled a reverse USC leaving Lane on the tarmac move and on the ride back to Norman asked them to drop him off at the airport.

Pac-12 ADs Surprise Head Coaches
deschutesduck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
ASU only has 5 committed recruits for 22 right now and they're ranked last in the PAC-12, 93rd nationally. I imagine it's hard to recruit when everyone assumes there will be some sort of sanctions coming. -
I bet he flips some good recruits that were planning to sign elsewhere during the early signing period, pulls in a few transfers and wins the south next year. Especially if Whittingham retires.
-
We're really going to have to ramp up our scoring now... to win and to actually be able to recruit west coast qb's and wr's. Should bring more national interest to the Pac-12 though.
