I didn't want to start a new topic but wasn't sure where to add this... Canzano: Mario Cristobal’s Slow Play with Oregon-Miami Jobs May Have Alienated the only Booster He’s Ever Needed by John Canzano of OregonLive "Last week, per a source, Knight signed off on a 10-year, $85 million extension that was offered by the University of Oregon to football coach Mario Cristobal. Year No. 1 would double Cristobal’s base salary and put it in excess of $7 million a year. It escalated from there and was easily the most lucrative deal ever offered to a football coach in Eugene." "Cristobal didn’t sign the contract extension on Friday before the title game. He instead made plans to talk with his agent the following day. Then, his team got blown off the field by the Utes: 38-10. The Ducks’ coach took the loss hard." "That 10-year contract extension still good? 'It was pulled off the table when Mario didn’t sign it and got on the plane,' said a source close to the situation."

with zero inside knowledge I kinda get the feeling that part bothers him... that said if a coach stays to coach every player they recruit through graduation they would literally never be able to move to a new job. I liked the fact that Mario was at least telling the recruits he was undecided on his future... also he looked like hell on that zoom call.

Who is at the Alamo Bowl Zoom Presser representing the Ducks?

Mario was on, he seemed very excited about it -
yeah the you're not being hired to replace someone, you're being hired to fire them is pretty lame
-
I think most if not all of us realize these are just rumors till anything is officially reported. I appreciated you sharing the info, but include the tweet itself next time

tweeted 15 minutes ago and the follow up from a Miami Herald reporter

Thank Goodness For the Beloved Ducks Forum

The Mario watch has actually been less painful than watching some of his offenses. -
-
@C J you're right, for some reason i had been thinking he entered the portal, probably being smart and waiting to see where everything falls first coaching wise
-
Does OU even have any QB's left that haven't entered the transfer portal? Yeah, being a bit snarky but feels like a pointless bowl game where the main benefit is getting in the extra practices.
-
If I was a recruit and Mario does turn down Miami I would assume he's not leaving for anything less than Alabama.
-
-
If he goes I'm happy for him, but if he goes down there and starts running a pass happy offense scoring 45 a game i might develop an eye twitch.
-
Kiffin just signed a new contract
-
Alabama is the better team but Georgia will still get into the playoffs cause SEC... i won't be watching the rematch.
-
@DR Hilarius I agree, as a fan i'm well... not a fan of it, i'm sure the players and recruits hate the uncertainty. I think I've just resigned myself to the fact that this is simply how it goes now a days.
-
17-10 Alabama... they have almost 300 yards of offense with a few minutes left in the first half. Prior to this the most points Georgia had allowed in an entire game was 17. Does Saban do summer camps for coaches? Mario could use a refresher.
-
It's just a negotiating tactic, it's why so many coaches got insane new contracts this year, cause their school was terrified they'd leave... if they weren't worried they wouldn't have gotten a new contract.
-
of course, anyone negotiating a bigger contract would do the same. I wouldn't walk into my bosses office and say hey just wanted to let you know i'm never leaving but a raise would be great.

Which Coaches are Left if Mario Leaves?

I say they let us rotate posters from fishduck in each week as HC just to see what happens
