  1. I probably shouldn't even comment on the coaching search threads cause it's just not something I'm familiar with. For some reason Mullen has always come off to me as a guy that should be a highly paid OC but not HC, kinda doubt he'd go for that after being HC of a couple SEC programs though.
  2. Feels like a step down going from hiring 2 coaches Florida schools wanted to hiring one even they're tired of
  3. I don't see anything to indicate an offer, also Provo is a beautiful area, quite close to one of my favorite road bike rides (Alpine Canyon).
  4. Could be a real look into how much Mario was managing the offense and play calling
  5. just wait till next week when they're asking to interview the head coach at Sheldon
  6. I'd say I'd stop watching if we hired Urban but he'd probably retire for medical reasons before the season started.
  7. it seems like it's a supply and demand problem right now, coaches and their agents are completely in control with schools throwing money at them hoping to find Nick Saban 2.0.
  8. with how much time cfb coaches spend working it's not entirely surprising... i mean if i've got a good thing going at my current job making $9 million/year do i bolt for an uncertain job for a few more million?
  9. oh grow up Charles KIDDING I've often stopped reading the comments on other sites simply cause it turns into people just attacking each other over the pettiest things. I swear CFB is the equivalent of soccer/football in the rest of the world when it comes to passionate fans.
  10. Is there any job change that throws people into tantrums more than a CFB head coach switching schools?
  11. Everyone is kinda freaking out about the early signing period but there are SO many good players in the transfer portal this year. *edit* To clarify I expect a lot of recruits to decommit to check what other opportunities are out there as their coaches move to other schools but I think the transfer portal is going to wind up being as important as recruiting kids from high school.
  12. I think he was, cfb coaching changes rarely go smoothly cause there's so much media and people are so emotionally invested in their schools. Mario looked like death warmed over at the Alamo Bowl Zoom call and he certainly didn't have to do that interview with Canzono but he did. I appreciate what he did for Oregon and wish him well at Miami... now lets go get some offense.
  13. I have to admit I love his snarky tweets and the offense he puts up...
  14. I had to look it up to see what the area looked like... good luck fitting a college stadium and parking for it there... and yeah traffic might be a tiny issue
  15. I'll remember him as having a more exciting recruiting season than game season. I really liked Cristobal as a person but my liver will be thanking him for going to Miami come fall of 2022.
  16. Gives me a bit of optimism he might put in the freshman qb's and let it fly
  17. We have an interim coach now edit: ninja'd by Charles with a new thread
  18. 5 star OT, not surprising since he was surely recruited by Cristobal and Mirabal
  19. I think a player would be silly not to decommit, they might as well explore options till Oregon gets a new coaching staff in place, it's not like they can't still sign with Oregon if they want to.
  20. The full interview is up as a podcast on soundcloud
  21. Mullens said he's waiting to see who stays and who follows Cristobal before naming one.
  22. It will be interesting to see how their ACC Rookie of the year QB does under Mario
  23. Good chance his UCLA team would have beat us this year if DTR didn't get knocked out of the game at the end...
