Good Update Regarding Addison to USC Rumor
Love it! It wasn't an athletic scam because 'regular students' were also part of the scam. Kind of like CAM didn't know his Dad was shopping Him?

Mario Cristobal: The 'Lincoln Riley of Florida?'
Thurston Veblen: Conspicuous Consumption personified. But as DR Jack points out above, today, people are not only looking for prestige but also for security. Lots of folks got paid to build this place and I imagine a broker or 2 got paid for selling this place. Thus, the world turns. Thus, CFB/CBB guys bringing in $ to their schools, paying the salaries of administrators and paying for non-revenue sports, are finally beyond the value of free-schooling, are getting paid. Kind of like coaches today being paid multi-million and not tens of thousands of dollars. THIS is capitalism. This is the result when you prevaricate for decades and then lose 9-0 vs the Supreme Court.

Good Update Regarding Addison to USC Rumor
The Reggie Bush deal today would be completely kosher. Compare the penalty SEC Ole Miss got for a play for pay program to SC's sanctions.. Compare to the NOTHING UNC received for running 2 decades of academic fraud It took next to no time for Chip and Oregon being dinged for using a recruiting runner. THIS was not going on in the SEC. The Pac-12 has been the NCAA's dough boy for decades. Add Ohio State. Trade football prowess for tattoos and that = an undefeated team missing post season? We do not need to attack teams in our conference for violations. If any conference has tried to play by the rules for decades it has been the Pac-12.

Ducks, Pac-12 Flop in Draft
- Good Update Regarding Addison to USC Rumor
I disagree with this in general; NOT. But no school got more hosed over by the NCAA than USC and the entire conference, including the Pac-12 network, suffered in the back wash. WE need a leader of the PAC! For this to happen the Ducks have to stop tripping over webbed feet and play to the level of the roster. USC, an LA team, also has to stop dicking around, win the south and beat Notre Dame. At UGA? That's a tough wake up call. But if properly prepared and organized there is no reason why this team, if Nix comes through, should not decisively win the north division and have a final 4 shot. The athletes are there. Will they be ready to show and play to their ability? Including defeating the Trojans in the champ game. The Ducks and the conference needs 2 studs. Something to get the nation caring about Pac-12 football. The 2 need to be Oregon and USC and not Utah. It is a sad but oh so true truth. The conference needs a 'player' in LA. GK will never come forth with this admission. But final 4 contenders Oregon vs SC for a Pac-12 title is a media renegotiation dream.- I Think John Canzano Is Reading FishDuck

I have no idea regarding the number of players who annually suffer extreme dehydration in practice? I do know that tragically, a player or 2 die every year as a result of practicing football. Even with every safeguard in place. I certainly respect your opinion. I just don't believe the young man should receive $120M based on the hypothesis that his life has been significantly shortened. As far as I know that as of today the young man's quality of life has not been affected at all? To the best of my knowledge he is not bed ridden or confined to a wheel chair.? Please correct me if I am in error. I believe McCormack was one of the guys hospitalized. He was cleared to return to play ball. And he returned to play ball without bringing a law suit. If you believe $120M is appropriate for having to spend a few days in the hospital for excessive dehydration than so be it. The jury in the case is likely to agree with you.- Good Update Regarding Addison to USC Rumor
Very good take. But I believe at the end of the Stanford HUGE upset of SC it was Carroll who asked Harbaugh, 'What's your deal?' This after Harbaugh went for a 2 point conversion late with 40 point dog Stanford in the lead? Regardless, totally agree that Carroll personally did not draw the negative attention Riley is drawing. 1 reason, Carroll was hired 'off-the-shelf' and not 'stolen away' from a blue blood program. You are in LA and you make the moves SC has made recently in an attempt to return to CFB blue blood status and you will generate publicity, good and bad. BTW - Terrific article up on The Athletic by David Ubben that mirrors Charles philosophy regarding all the changes to CFB. This is the way the game today is so sit back, relax and enjoy! I like it. Good or bad it helps but the Pac-12 on the national radar. BTW - looking at SC's existing WR group Addison not signing with SC may be better for the Trojans team chemistry?- Former Oregon Lineman’s Injury a Failure of Leadership
OK. 3 guys were hospitalized. Not good. But that's 3 out of how many? And 2 of the 3 are not bringing suit. When 3 out of 85+ in any endeavor suffer do you change the entire modus operandi? Player safety has been universally addressed by the NCAA. Players practice for fewer hours now and contact in practice is limited. Both of these make sense and both are fine with me. The same practice restraints have been adopted in the NFL. Tragically, every year a player dies of heart failure when the rest of the team suffers no lingering injury. This is the nature of our game and our species. As for losing years and years off of his life? According to whom? The Doctor hired to testify by the plaintiff's attorney? I suffered dehydration twice while practicing football in high school. I am 75 years old. Frankly and by no means pejoratively, I think there are generational differences as to how this matter is being viewed? I don't see handing the plaintiff 60 to 70% of $125M, his lawyers will collect the balance, will make a material difference as to how CFB practice in today's environment is conducted, beyond what has already been addressed and implemented.- Ducks, Pac-12 Flop in Draft
Terrific take. NFL scouts will find players everywhere, including FCS. But it doesn't help recruiting when games are played after dark and often on an irrelevant network. Like the game vs Ohio State last season the game in Atlanta will be, far and away, the most watched game in the Ducks 2022 regular season.- Spring Game Attendance Top 10
6 is pretty darn good. By Bama standards, spring attendance was bad. Ditto Clemson. Of course, there could have been weather issues?- Good Update Regarding Addison to USC Rumor
With the addition of LB Gentry from ASU, SC has now moved past Ole Miss to No. 1 in the transfer rankings. With Gentry, SC has brought in 3 very good LBs including a guy from Bama and a guy from Auburn.- Good Update Regarding Addison to USC Rumor
Deadline to be eligible in 2022 was officially May 1 with a couple of days extension to complete paper work. But any player is still free to enter the portal when ever he so desires. Guys who are not starting or walk-ons may decide to enter the portal to get an early jump on being 'drafted' from the portal for the 2023 season?- Ducks, Pac-12 Flop in Draft
Thanks Darren, great take; I completely agree regarding Mario. The draft more or less mirrors recruiting. Recruit the best players and you send the most players to the NFL. IF the players are coached up. The SEC has so much going for it. Including a network owned and operated by CFB media 'cartel' ESPN. As Coach Bellotti recently pointed out, it does Just Mean More in the SEC. It also doesn't hurt to be in the middle of rich recruiting country. In both the CBS/YB mock drafts lots of guys from the Pac-12 footprint are expected to go in the 1st round in 2023; Sewell is the only one who plays in the Pac-12.- Ducks, Pac-12 Flop in Draft
FWIW - Not Much! Way too early CBS 2023 mock draft has Sewell going No. 16 to the Pats. The early Yardbarker mock has Sewell going 32 to the Bills. Unless Addison transfers to SC, Sewell is the only Pac-12 player projected in both mocks to go in the 1st round.- USC Adds Own Version of Division Street

This guy would have made $125+M in the NFL? Based on whose calculus? He and his lawyer's get $100M+ I think it further proves up that 'Lady Justice' left town a long time ago. Sucks that the kid got hurt as a result of a too stringent practice regime. What if he had been injured doing the 'Oklahoma Drill?' Or injured as was Ifo in practice? He gets millions of dollars? THIS is the kind of stuff, along with CTE, etc., that will make CFB disappear. This kid wins his case and the flood gates will open. Are any of these scholarship sports worth the candle today to a university? In this litigious society, is the risk of liability worth it?- What Happened to Drafting Our Beloved Ducks?
Check it out my friend. The SEC has been dominant for close to a decade in recruiting and sending guys to the NFL. At this point, the B1G schools make more money per team, but do not recruit or send guys to the NFL anywhere near what we see from the SEC. The SEC dominated the BCS in titles and the to date the Playoff in the number of appearances and titles. (1 team outside of the SE has won a playoff title. Clemson is in effect an SEC school hiding in the ACC.) The next media negotiations will cement the B1G and the SEC as the CFB Power 2. Within 3 years the teams in the B1G and the SEC are expected to receive $100M+ per annum. The B1G does not have the on-field or recruiting success of the SEC. But it has huge member institutions with huge numbers of alumni/alumnae who give a whip about CFB. Do I like this situation? No. But it is the CFB lay of today's land.- The Deadline has Passed, but There is Still Time for Addison to Transfer
It was reported that Addison entered the portal on Saturday, 4/30/22. What are the FACTS regarding this player's portal status?- Innocence Lost Due to NIL and the Portal
Great point. But the place where the true professionals make money is governed by rules and regulations. Rules and regulations agreed to between the team owners and the players. There is business certainty on how relations between management and players will be conducted. One multi-billionaire cannot simple outspend another to buy the better team. THIS is what's missing in CFB today. It's missing for any number of reasons not the least of which is the NCAA 'leading' for decades from the rear. Hopefully, the change to the NCAA Constitution and and the new rules and regulations suggested by the Transition Committee and adopted by the G5/P5 schools, will help to regulate the 'every team for itself' and 'every man for himself' climate that we are witnessing in big time CBB and CFB today? I think it is inevitable that to have legally sustainable agreements a CFB players union must be able to negotiate with 'management.' The rub? What conferences and teams will represent 'management' when it comes to big time CFB? And how many institutions of higher learning will want to be NFL minor league teams? - Good Update Regarding Addison to USC Rumor
