  1. A terrific idea! But and unfortunately, I agree with you that this bird has most likely flown? But a 'merger' with the 'new B12' would set up 3 8 team divisions with the 'Pac-8' being one of the divisions. The Pac-24 or whatever, would its own in CFB and be awesome in CBB. Would such an arrangement pencil out? I have no idea but I hope before the new media deal is done that it is at least being looked at?
  2. Barry Sanders? Hope you are SPOT ON my friend. It took McCaffery to beat Barry's 'unbeatable' record. But McCaffery's accomplishment was not worthy of the Heisman, right?
  3. In today's CFB it will not be an indelible stain.
  4. I don't think based on returning players and recruits (including reeling back in a 5* OL recruit from the portal) that the OL will be a big issue in Athens? The TE room is ridiculous. With Bowers (from NoCal, sigh) and Gilbert if he finally has his head on straight. UGA is the 3rd SEC roster Gilbert has been on after Florida and LSU. The roster also has 2 more talented TEs. Hoping the Ducks DBs this season will be better in coverage? Oregon will see a lot of 3 and 4 TE sets from both UGA and Utah. Play nickel but that will help set up some very good Georgia RBs. I agree that with 5 1st round picks coming off the UGA D and only 4 returning starters back on D, Oregon may have to play to win a shoot out? I do expect Bennett who won a championship last season to be better in 2022 without having to battle Daniels for practice reps and with another year in Moncken's O. I think with Lanning and crew the Ducks have a shot. With Mario, there would have been no shot. The Ohio State team Oregon defeated last season had its worst D in decades.
  5. And part of this is due to the Cali scheduling arrangement. SC could be playing UW and not both CAL and Stanford, 2 'permanent' cross over games for SC vs the North.
  6. I think out of the gate SC is going to Roni Rice?
  7. But if Addison signs with Bama is there any merit in complaining about USC tampering with the Pitt roster? Maybe Narduzzi was just trying to save face?
  8. Read that he settled with Oregon for $500,000. Interesting that the 2 other guys hospitalized with Brenner returned to the field of play.
  9. 7 way-too-early predictions for Georgia’s offense in 2022 WWW.SATURDAYDOWNSOUTH.COM Georgia will have a dynamic offense in 2022.
  10. A thinned-out Georgia or tougher Texas - Assessing spring overreactions in college football WWW.ESPN.COM Before we get to what happens next in college football, let's evaluate what we just saw. Here's a batch of overreactions from spring ball and the NFL draft. Good thoughts here on how Georgia after an all time 15 players taken in the draft, reloads.
  11. Aiken, South Carolina? Fits the bill regarding everything you are looking for plus a low cost of living. Also great if you like golf and/or horses. And, no water or forest fire problems. 20 minutes to Augusta, 2nd largest city in Georgia and 90 minutes to Charleston, Savannah + the coast. Civility abounds. Lots of diversity and everyone gets along. Branch of U of South Carolina so learning opportunities and lots of good cultural events abound. Known as "Mayberry meets The Hamptons.' Many the good restaurant. The bad. Games start far too late on the Right Coast. [Send my check c/o Aiken City Council.]
  12. It's the 9 conference games, with or without divisions, that makes a re-match odds-on. Rarely see this in the SEC with 14 teams and only 2 cross over games. The 2 top teams playing are to prevent a lower ranked division winner winning the champ game and not having the best representative in the playoff mix. If the field expands to 12 with all P5 champs in, as I think will happen, it might not help for seeding purposes but I'd love to see no divisions, 2 OOC games and 10 conference games. Winner of the regular season is the champ. Extra bye week instead of playing a champ game. But can the conference afford to give up champ game $?
  13. 2022 NFL Draft: tracking every draft selection from the Pac-12 SATURDAYOUTWEST.COM Every Pac-12 selection at the 2022 NFL Draft. Please help me I'm falling.
  14. Tough to do in a 12 team conference with 2 divisions and 9 conference games. I expect 2023 will be the year divisions go away in the Pac-12 along with the 'CA scheduling agreement.' The two top teams will play in the conference champ game. Personally, so long as we have divisions, I'd like to see all of the cross division games played before the division games. Play Utah in October and not in late November.
  15. Yeah, but you should see Mike's mansion in Starkville! Not 1 but 2 outhouses!
  16. OK but BYU returns 88% of its O including its starting QB. BYU's all time leading rusher, Algiers, went late in the draft because most of yards were the result of very good OL and TE blocking. Most of the starting OL is back. BYU plays at Oregon, Arkansas at home and Notre Dame in Las Vegas (plenty of Cougars fans will be on hand), so if it does drop a game or 2 it could finish in the top 10. And we know that BYU will be putting grown men on the football field. This is BYU's last season as an independent before joining the B12.
  17. Crazy? With Utah playing there and after the 2021 mauling of SC I'm not sure I'd count out UCLA?
  18. Great stats but does the 200 translate to 'football speed?"
  19. And I forgot to buy a gift!
  20. If Addison goes to Bama think Pat Narduzzi will call Saint Nick and complain or that Saban will be painted as a bad guy?
  21. Pitt star WR transfer working out with notable QB LARRYBROWNSPORTS.COM Pitt transfer wide receiver Jordan Addison is reportedly working out with a notable quarterback after entering the portal. He's working out with a QB from Southern Cal who happens to be the defending Heisman winner and starter at Alabama.
  22. Where are the Ducks ranked and do you have the entire top 25? Thanks. I only see verbiage on Oregon, than the Utes and Bruins rankings. I'm guessing Oregon is 5 or higher? If so, USA is making a big bet on Lanning and Nix.
  23. Did friend Mike West help set this line? I've seen the Utes ramked as high as 4 in the preseason. The Ducks for a number of reasons no-showed vs the Utes last Season. Ohio State down its top 2 WRs dropped an aerial circus on Utah in the Rose Bowl. I think Utah will be a very good team but I don't see it winning the 2022 Pac-12 that should have better QB play from many a team. I think Utah will really miss LBs Lloyd and Sewell.
