Can Oregon Best the Buckeyes Again in Rose Bowl Rematch?
It's A Shame It's Too Early, But Bring On The Game! Ohio State's blowout win over Tennessee sets up epic Oregon rematch. It's just a shame it's happening in the quarterfinals SPORTS.YAHOO.COM Ohio State and Oregon could very well have the two best teams in college football this year. But thanks to a new CFP format that is already showing flaws, they're meeting in the second round. Devour Howard!

Great. Now our CURRENT Conference is Being Bad-Mouthed...
Many great comments. Two teams ranked No. 12. and No. 9. got a 1st round pass and B12 and Mountain West made $8M each. The two ACC teams lost in the first round and they, not the ACC, made $4M each. The No. 16 team, Clemson, gave the best showing of the four teams that lost this weekend. As is most often the case in the NFL the better, higher-ranked home teams won and as Nevada Dawg noted, all of the home teams won the LOS. If seeding was the same as ranking No. 10 SMU would have likely lost at No. 7 Tennessee. The No. 9 Boise game at No. 8 Indiana would likely have been competitive. No. 11 Bama would have played at No. 6 Ohio State. No. 12 ASU would have played at No. 5 Notre Dame. Teams 1-4 would have had byes: OREGON; Georgia; Texas; and Penn State. I don't think the teams that made the field were too far off base. I think the idiotic seeding format that elevated lower-ranked teams screwed things up. And the screw-up is exacerbated by playing the quarter-finals off campus. Seeding equating to ranking is an easy fix. The other change won't happen as long as Bowl Master Disney is paying for the show. The fans of the best teams do not get to see them play at home. Kansas City has a 1st Round Bye and then its fans have to go to Pasadena to watch the Chiefs play? Of course not. The Billionaires get it. I'm shocked. The money shown above speaks for itself and is the reason why CFB is not going to cut the number of the teams in PO field. [I'm, like Paul Finebaum, going outside my territory here. I get Sankey and the SEC's SOS and SOR beef. So do something about it! Make a far better effort at balancing the SEC 2025 in-conference SOS. IMO it's ludicrous that Georgia has to play the same teams in 2025 it played in 2024 and Texas again, sans Georgia, plays the SEC lightweights.] Sorry, Lane Kiffin, the three teams Ole Miss lost to had 17 collective losses and 19 collective wins. No matter the conference, you are not allowed just to count wins. The PO will prosper despite Lame Kitten, moi, and the folks in charge. There will never be a model that satisfies all. As it should be.

Sunday's Odds Rise
The odds are set and rise and fall to as noted above, Balance the Book. At -1.5 money came in the Buckeyes to take Ohio State to -2.5 and encourage money to come in on Oregon. Amateur bettors have short memories. They saw Penn State lighting up OBD's D and Ohio State's dominant win over a 2-loss SEC team that played a crummy in-conference schedule in conference that was down in 2024. Any line under 3 points is a PIK-Em. My buddies and I are down on the Over 53.5 and waiting for the line to hit TOSU -3 before betting on OBD.

First Round of 2024 Playoffs Were an Unmitigated Disaster
Amen - No. 4 (ranked) Penn State -10 vs No. 9 Boise State - No. 9 Boise at No. 8 Indiana as it should have been would have likely been a competitive game. PSU beats the ACC runner-up and now advances to play a G5 team. No. 3 Texas -14 vs. No. 12 ASU. This after defeating No. 16 Clemson. No. 2 Georgia -1.5 (opened ND -1.5) vs. No. 5 Notre Dame. No. 1 OREGON +1 vs. No. 6 Ohio State The seeding is SENSELESS. We only have this format for two years because Sankey had to 'buy votes.' Come 2026 some votes will not count the same as others. I do wish that Lame Kitten would STFU! Lane, you want in the PO, don't lose to NR Kentucky at home and to NR Florida on the road. Oh, and your other loss came against NR LSU, a team that lost to 6-6 USC. SCHMUCK!

First Round of 2024 Playoffs Were an Unmitigated Disaster
USA is Spot On IMO. The PO Format Will be Improved. We Had Blow Outs in the BCS. Yes, there are College Football Playoff blowouts in first round. But fans should calm down. WWW.USATODAY.COM The first round of the College Football Playoff wasn't filled with close games. That's OK, despite vociferous criticism from fans and coaches. We have blowouts in every playoff format designed by man.

Can Oregon Best the Buckeyes Again in Rose Bowl Rematch?
Thanks, Jordan. The wife and I will be leaving for the Chop House in short order. 😋 I'm going with your menu choices and a side of Smokey. Saint Nick called it in the pregame - "I expect a team this talented and well-coached to bounce back big versus Tennessee." Nick once again endeared himself to Vols and SEC fans everywhere.😁 Watching the Buckeyes take no prisoners last night in front of far more scarlet than orange made the effort, or rather the lack thereof, on offense vs. Nebraska and Michigan even more puzzling. However, the Buckeyes D has shown up everywhere tOSU has played but for Eugene, Oregon. 😎 This Buckeyes D is as good as it gets in CFB and coming to Pasadena on a mission. The Buckeyes learned the hard way that they're not playing a Pac-12 team not ready to compete in the B1G. This will be a heavyweight fight from the first round through the 15th. If the game goes into extra rounds, OT, I will not be surprised. FanDuel opening lines: Ohio State -1.5. Over/Under 52.5. Two very good, when on their game, college Ds will be playing in Pasadena but I think the game could go over in the 1st half. Especially if Howard plays like he did vs. Tennessee. Both teams have weapons on O that if utilized properly (was Chip at the Michigan game?) will not be shut down. The PO format would PO any football fan not located in Austin, Boise, Tempe or State College but, as a great man once said, 'So What?' 😍 It is what it is so get ready for the 2nd Battle of the Os being played not in Indianapolis but in Pasadena. As I recall, other than as tabulated by a guy who was Crabby in the post-game, the Ducks first Playoff appearance in Pasadena went pretty well, eh? 🍻 BASH BRUTUS! CRUSH CHIP! DECIMATE DAY! DUCKS ALL THE WAY!

Dan Lanning Quashes NFL Rumors
The more OBD wins under his leadership the more the rumors will pop up. Comes with the territory. The roster management in the NFL is easier but would Dan's style work in the pro ranks? He's blessed. He's exactly where he is supposed to be and he knows and appreciates this.

First Round of 2024 Playoffs Were an Unmitigated Disaster
SPOT ON. But this is a format frack up. I do not believe there is a Committee member who thinks ASU and Boise are better than Ohio State. But, with this group of gurus? The format will be fixed in 2026, Meanwhile, Blast the Buckeyes! (Was the Michigan game a PO Rope-A-Dope?)

First Round of 2024 Playoffs Were an Unmitigated Disaster
Sorry, my friends with a beef, I could not disagree more. Playoff games at home stadiums were great. It is disappointing that the next round will not be at the home stadiums of higher-ranked teams. The four home teams won the first-round games. Look at the NFL playoffs, and this is most often the case. Also, 80% of first-round NFL teams with a bye play in the Super Bowl. This is unfair? The problem is not too many teams in the field but the seeding of the teams. Oregon should be playing ASU or Boise at home and not playing a defacto champ game vs. Ohio State in the Rose Bowl. But for this night, hats off to tOSU for shaking off he angst and making a terrific post-Michigan comeback. This is the first time out with this format, which should have and will be fixed with Rankings equating to Seedings, and folks want to blow the entire thing up? 4 Underdogs lost to favorites on the road. What in the heck is suprising about these results that equate to what we usually see in the NFL? Indiana should be out! Tennessee will destroy not SEC Ohio State, And chicken littles, please pile on. I thought the home games were great and CFB should lose the bowl games and play an NFL format from start to finish. Regardless, I have seen nothing in the 1st round to convince me this format, as will be modified and improved, is not a winner. Last evening and this Saturday was as good as a CFB weekend gets,

Penn State's Victory Highlights Oregon's Dominance.
The above post is with all due respect to our Athens Dawgs Bros. By any and every metric, the SEC is the Conference King. But the Portal King? He is an embarrassment and should be forgotten and left out of the Dawgs and Ducks FEBU.

Penn State's Victory Highlights Oregon's Dominance.
How in the Name of All that Is good, Righteous, Holy, and Kosher, Did These Fools Allow The INDIANA HOSERS, The SMU DEATH PENALTIES, AND The CLEMSON KITTY CATS INTO THE PLAYOFF? Did they not know 3 and 4 loss SEC teams were available? After All, Hasn't Every Super Bowl Game Been Close? 🤪 Cue The Portal King! "We Only Lost 3 Games and 1 Loss Was at Home vs. Kentucky!" Great. Now our CURRENT Conference is Being Bad-Mouthed...
I find it a bit harsh to say a team that lost on the road to the No. 5 team in the nation didn't belong. How many teams would have defeated ND in South Bend last night? Oklahoma, Vandy, Mizzou, BYU, Miami, Bama on the road? Indiana deserved to be there and lost as an underdog on the road to a better team. If the loss had been closer would that equate to Indiana deserving to be there? An OT loss would still have had the 'B1G Stinks' honks out honking.

Great. Now our CURRENT Conference is Being Bad-Mouthed...
Another good take, NG. Thanks. Between losses to Georgia, what quality teams did Texas play in 2024? Texas missed Tennessee, Alabama, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Missouri. Texas is 0-2 vs. the Committee's Top 25. Like Notre Dame, Texas did defeat 8-4 A+M. Which is nice. The SEC is aided by half of the conference being ranked throughout the season. Thus, a win over an average SEC team is a 'Good Win.' And ipso facto the SOS of SEC teams will be better than teams in other conferences playing and defeating average teams. The SEC is deeper than the B1G, no doubt. But any team that went 11-1 in the SEC even against a schedule as weak as Indiana's (like Mizzou?) would be in the PO. I take no offense at the B1G being called out, it comes with the territory. Interesting that in 2023-24 when UW defeated Texas, back-to-back, and Michigan defeated Alabama, no one, except FSU fans, beefed about the Tide and the Horns being in the Final 4. Hats off to Notre Dame. A team with a Blue Chip Roster won the LOS against a visiting team. It won a game it was favored to win. Perhaps this is the Year of the Irish. ND defeated Georgia Tech playing without its starting QB in Mrcedes Benz Stadium and will now play a Georgia team in New Orleans without Carson Beck. BTW, did Notre Dame play a daunting schedule? Hardly. I watched Georgia overwhelmed and embarrassed in Oxford. I understood that Georgia had a new O-line playing against an excellent D-line. Post-game, I still believed Georgia would play for the SEC title. I wasn't writing Georgia off as the result of one game. On the other hand, I watched Bama embarrassed in Norman, and with a third loss, I did not believe Bama should be in the PO. Losses have to count in the SEC too. No group of fans is as conference-centric as SEC fans which is fine. Had Indiana won last night legions of SEC fans would not be touting the B1G as the greatest CFB conference of all time. One favorite won last night. Let's see how Penn State, Texas, and Ohio State do today. There'll be some noise if Tennessee and Texas lose. If PSU and tOSU lose the noise will be deafening. GO DAWGS! Dash the Domers. And GO DUCKS! Make Heupel Your Huckleberry and Ryan Your Rasberry!

A B1G Weekend Is at Hand. 3-0? 0-3? Something In Between?
To Date, OBD has Earned $8M for the B1G + Hoosiers, Nits, and Buckeyes a Collective $12M for the conference. Pretty good contribution from Junior Member OBD, no? 🤔 What are the matchups in the College Football Playoff? APNEWS.COM After a chaotic end to the regular season in college football, the matchups are set for the first 12-team version of the College Football Playoff. Here's a look at who's playing, game times and... Before deciding not to cheer for B1G member schools, understand the $ involved. ACC member teams SMU and Clemson will each pocket at least $4M. The Tigers + Ponies do not have to share the money with the ACC. I think that 'You Eat What You Playoff and Tournament Kill' will be B1G come the next media deal in 2031. Hash-Mark Heuple!
