  1. Thanks for the comment, Gat, and best of luck to your Gators in San Antonio. I'm not certain about the B1G wanting to enter Texas and Florida. If this is the case, FOX will do the pushing, not the B1G presidents. Of the four schools you mentioned, one is an AAU member institution, Miami. FSU is on the cusp of AAU membership. Texas Tech and TCU are not. This matters to the B1G poohbas. I don't believe Miami, a small private school without its own stadium is enticing to the B1G. Miami's portal activities in football and basketball have been suspect, including the 'theft' of a football player from Wisconsin. Miami is a good, not great TV draw. The only institution that would be immediately accretive is Notre Dame. So long as the ACC and the college football playoff folks give the Domers a scheduling life raft and the same voting power as a Power 4 conference, ND will stay independent in football. I believe come 2030, that all conferences will disburse media revenue on the number of eyeballs watching the games and success in the Moneyball sports. Also, come 2030, the B1G and the SEC may have entered into a scheduling alliance that would have Florida, Texas, and Texas A+M playing a B1G school OOC every season. This valuable inventory would reward both conferences without expansion diluting revenue. The B1G, the first Power Conference in line to negotiate a new media deal in 2029, is expected to score even bigger in its new media deal without expanding. If the B1G expands, I think Notre Dame, UNC, Duke, UVA, and possibly ASU, CU, and Kansas, all AAU members, would be in consideration before a school from Texas or Florida. And there is always the possibility of a football and basketball super conference with B1G and SEC teams and Notre Dame. BEAT AUBURN!

  7. Will OBD Be Post-Spring Portal Picking? Will Oregon add more transfers following spring football? Our potential positions of need DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM The Oregon Ducks may look to the transfer portal following the spring football season, and these are the positions they might focus on.
  8. H Duck, some more on your excellent post. March Madness seed success: Men's NCAA Tournament Elite Eight has lowest seed total ever WWW.USATODAY.COM All four No. 1 seeds, three No. 2s and one No. 3 remain in the men's NCAA Tournament, proving this season was all about the top teams in the sport. I find it interesting that NIL and the portal seem to have leveled the playing field in college football and done the opposite in college basketball. Close to 1,000 CBB players are in the portal and the top G6 coaches are being gobbled up by Power conference teams.
  9. Am I ready for 4 from Dixie? No. But if it happens will G. Sankey continue to push for tournament expansion? SEC having four Final Four teams possible with March Madness entering Elite Eight WWW.USATODAY.COM Entering the NCAA men's tournament Elite Eight, the SEC has the possibility of four teams in the Final Four after Auburn rallied past Michigan. FOX College Basketball Crown, begins on Monday, May 31, and concludes on April 6th, with all 16 teams staying and playing in Las Vegas. The CBC is not a threat to The Tournament at this point, but is a threat to the NIT. The CBC awards NIL payments directly to the athletes. The SEC is printing money in this season's NCAA Tournament but none of the money is going directly to the players. With the House Settlement to be decided in April, could FOX come up with enough money in direct to the 'student-athlete' payments and to the participating schools, to convince 32 top teams to play in the CBC? Vegas is one of the few places in the world to have the hotel rooms and the arenas to make this happen. GO SPARTY! REMEMBER THERMOPYLEA!
  10. Hats Off to Mr. Old School, Tom Izzo. PO shares stop growing at the Elite 8, so four SEC teams, two B12 teams, one ACC, and one B1G team score big (SEC?) time. Current odds to reach the Final 4 have Ducke favored followed by Florida, Auburn, Houston, Alabama, Michigan State, Tennessee, and Texas Tech. Bama goes crazy from the 3-point line like it did vs. BYU, with 25 3-pointers made, and Duke could be in trouble. 👍

  21. Thanks, 30. I was happy to see, earlier this morning and not last night, TT sending Calipari to the bench. Maryland has a very good starting 5, the Gators go 10 deep. Lots of fans disguised as empty seats in SFO. Is 'competitive balance', which we have not seen a lot of in this tournament, worth sending teams hither and yon? If any B1G team that was B1G-time hosed over was 3-seed Wisconsin having to play 6-seed BYU in Denver instead of playing in the Milwaukee regional. The Purdue game starts at 10 PM in Indianapolis. Maybe the home crowd will keep the Boilermakers in the game but I doubt it. And fingers crossed for both Michigan teams in the ATL but I will not be surprised to see Ole Miss playing Auburn in the Elite 8. The SEC decided to become relevant in college basketball. Like football, the conference got buy-in from the administration on down, and in IMO, the SEC is the best in both CFB and CBB. Two seasons without a football title but the SEC will again 'win' the draft in April. It would be nice to have at least one B1G team in the Final 4. The SEC is printing Tournament money.
  22. Here's More Support for the 4-4-2-2-1-1 Playoff format. Athlon has ranked the ten easiest schedules in CFB in 2025 with No. 1 being the easiest. 1. Texas Tech - The Raiders three OOC opponents won a total of eight games in 2024. Three of the nine B12 opponents had winning records in 2024. 2. Virginia - Yes, Virginia, there is a cupcake factory in Charlottesville. 3. Wake Forest - Did Jack Dickert leave the Pac-Whatever for an easier schedule? 4. North Carolina - Billy Boy, you have no excuses. 5. CAL - Wilcox better take the Bears to a bowl. 6. BYU - One of two B12 front runners on the list. 7. Kansas - After the B-Ball team went out in the 1st round, the Jayhawks needed this. 8. Nebraska - With this lightweight schedule, no wonder the Spring game was Ruhled out. 9. ASU - The Sun Devil was not going to allow the Cougars to have an easier schedule. 10. UCF - This schedule should keep Frosty's seat cool. Summary: Five B12 teams. Four ACC teams. 1 B1G team. Zero SEC teams. RES IPSA LOQUITUR and thus, I Rest My Case. 😁

  24. Thanks, 30. I'd love to see Love light up the Blue Devils! 🥶 Of course with many games starting around 10 PM Eastern, including games played in the Eastern time zone, I'll be Dishing the games the day after. Purdue vs Houston in Indianapolis at 10 PM? Peak performance time for student-athletes, right? Overlooked teams in men's NCAA Tournament best positioned to make Final Four WWW.YARDBARKER.COM Although the one-seeds will garner most of the attention, and rightfully so, here are three teams that are not on the one-line that are best positioned for a Final Four run.
