  1. What can I add to the great article and comments - NADA! Ducks arrived in Indy a day earlier than usual due to press obligations. PSU will have the majority of fans; so did Michigan, with many more fans than PSU will have in Indy. I think Dan and the team feed off of Us vs. Them. Paranoia strikes deep. This is OBD's shot for a B1G Trifecta. I'm still PO'd about how B1G refs called the BCS Champ Game. Including the B1G review folks. Will the new Duck on the Block get a fair shake? I am happy that CBS is doing the game. Nessler and Danielson are pros who focus on the game, and not on whatever bee is buzzing in their bonnet. SEE:🤪 Gus Johnson. SPANK FRANK. MAKE HIS 'BIG GAME" RECORD MORE STANK! POUND PsU!
  2. Eyes open. 6 Pack+ of IPA in the fridge. Pepto Bismal at hand. Neuter the Nits!
  3. The OC and Foster must have had a falling out. UCLA improved throughout the season. The game at UW was a disappointment for UCLA but the team sucked it up and played hard to get a win over Fresno State. I don't get this. Is there a coach with more and better experience who wants to go to Westwood and call plays?
  4. CREEP-E! Hide the women and children (and the make up 😁)
  5. Freeman played LB at Ohio State. He has benefited from the ACC scheduling agreement, 5-0 vs the ACC in 2024, playing Navy every season, a G5 schmoo every season (NO. ILL 😁and Miami Ohio this season) and being at ND when both SC and Stanford are not playing their best football. He has one inexplicable loss every season but the man can recruit. He would be in play. But he has a 'pretty good' job. Heupel is in a very good spot at Tennessee and the Vols would match any salary bump offered by Ohio State. His rival is Vandy, not Michigan. 😁 (It's really Bama and Heupel defeated the Tide this season.) Vrebel is out of work but sitting on millions in severance pay. He's a run-first guy and not necessarily suited to putting top-drawer QBs into the NFL. Does he want to and can he recruit? If they stick around, Day has a terrific, young, QB room to work with, including the 2024 No. 1 recruit Julian Sayin.
  6. Mike West nails it: AGAIN. I did mention in an earlier post that Day's reliable FG kicker missed 2 kicks that he makes in his sleep. He makes these + tOSU fans are whining about the margin of victory and not calling for Day to be fired; at least, not immediately fired. But the choke by the reliable FG kicker is, as Mike pointed out, emblematic of the pressure on the Ohio State players in THE GAME. This is not a healthy atmosphere in which to compete. Chip could not have called a worse game. 26 rush attempts, 77 net yards. The best WR in CFB was not targeted in the 2nd half. Was the pressure too much for Chip? The Game pressure plus not wanting to let his protege down. The QB could not have played a worse game. He folded. The great D held up against an anemic Michigan passing attack but got no help. This was a throwback Bo vs. Woody game. On B1G Today Meyer analyzed the loss and did not look happy doing so. But to bring him back? $32M to dump Day unless Day agreed for some time to be a co-head coach and return to play-calling while Urban CEO'd the enterprise. I don't see this happening and wonder if this structure could work. Something is rotten in Columbus but win a 1st round game at home, things will smell better and the Buckeyes will be on the road for the next PO game. tOSU is crippled on the O line but there is still tons of talent on that team, especially on the D. There is no SEC Nick Saban SEC behemoth in this PO. No. 2 Texas has played one very good SEC team and lost. Notre Dame's best win is against 8-4 A+M. OBD has the best Vegas odds. But it's a year of parity except for OBD, and I will not be shocked if Ohio State with a tremendous D wins it all. Winning three or four games in a row will not be easy for any team in the field. 7. Two ACC teams including a 3L Clemson team that lost to both Georgia and South Carolina? Instead of a 3L Bama, South Carolina, Ole Miss, and perhaps, a 3L UGA? At least one of the SEC 3Ls should, IMO, be in. Probably UGA if it loses to Texas. A 2L SMU has a home loss vs BYU. And a weak SOS compared to the 3L SEC teams. If the quality of the teams you play doesn't matter, see Boise State No. 10, why play a team OOC that you can't destroy, and why play 9 and not 8 conference games? 16 team PO - 4 SEC, 4 B1G, 2 ACC + B12, 1 G5, 3 At Large. If the Domers don't like it, join a conference. Only 3 teams chosen subjectively. Conferences on their own break ties and submit their teams. Seeding? Could be The Rub but this concern could be reduced by reseeding after each round as the NFL does. Team Rankings SOS - 12/5/24 1. Georgia/ 2. Alabama/ 5. South Carolina/ 7. Ole Miss/ 27. Clemson/ 49. SMU.
  8. It's So Obvious this Format and a PO Run by an Invested Broadcast Company is Screwed up. SMU's case is one of the foibles. 11. Thank you, DM. Truly Mighty Ducks vs. diminished dogs. Fisch should have thrown in the towel or the referee should have stopped the fight. I tuned into a football game and witnessed a mugging.😁 The Regular Season? Where did it go? Goes by even faster when you're 12-0. 😍 Flame Franklin! Paste, Punish + Pound PsU!

  14. I hope the guys leaving are getting decent advice. There is no guaranty another program will offer them; especially, a champion contending program. Spot on Charles. You build a deep roster and guys will portal out. Dan and Division Street will fill positions of need from the portal. It was so great watching the Big Ten Network today reporting that OBD had moved up to the top recruiting spot in the conference. Dan is winning The Battle of the Os. 😍 I wonder if Riley and Day plan to meet in the same bar? 😁

  17. Good thoughts. Change could happen but not if conference champ game favorites win. BUT?
  18. Should SMU boycott the ACC Champ Game? Dicuss. 🤪
  19. The B1G's Saturday Tradition Take on the Penultimate Rankings. We're Alabama - You're Not! The SEC sent out an SOS and in one case and one case only, the Committee paid attention to Strength Of Schedule. "Bama has wins over 3 ranked teams." OK, but your No. 2 team Texas has, like Miami, ZERO top 25 wins. Boise State with a lower SOS than ASU/Iowa State is No. 10. Most love ever given to a G5 team. This is an E$PN farce. All the manure thrown in the direction of the Committee is deserved. The NCAA uses disclosed metrics to set the fields for the football playoffs it manages. The NCAA Tournament Committee does the same. 13 people making multi-million dollar judgments are allowed to wing it. Righteous, right? To Charles's point, the NFL reseeds the PO field to give the top teams the easier PO path. Not the CFB Committee, of course. 20. All good points. Who would you hire instead? Is there anyone out there who can win the % of games won by Day? Who can recruit like Day? I think comparing Day or any coach to Nick Saban when it comes to winning the big games is a tough standard. Check out James Franklin's, Steve Sarkisian's, and so-called 'Big Game' Bob Stoops records in the biggest games. Again, I get and appreciate all of your comments but Michigan is one game on the schedule. In 7 seasons Harbaugh won 2 B1G conference championships. And OBD is the only undefeated team in the G5/P4 this season. You want to be a tough grader? I'm fine with that but I think you are judging the man against the greatest coaches in the history of CFB. And I for one do not see Vrabel as an ipso facto improvement. Others may be out there but I cannot easily identify them. Love the discussion and your thought-provoking comments.

  23. Sign with a team that will be left behind and not The Ducks? Good luck.
  24. It's always been about and always will be about the Jimmies and the Joes. Every great football coach worth his salt knows this and knows so much of college football is having the right guys via recruiting and the portal today, the top coaches meld the top players to play team ball. Mike Norvell did it last season and not this season. After Georgia plucked the Ducks in Atlanta what did Kirby Smart say: Dan is going to be just fine, he knows we have the better players. Kirby lost game after game to Nick Saban and Bama. The Georgia fans were not happy with this but after justifiably calling for Mark Richt to be run off the sane and not the zany UGA fans understood that Kirby would get it done. Kirby finally beat Bama in the most impressive manner possible, defeating Saint Nick for a Natty. And but for a Tua walk-off heave, he would have won one earlier vs. Bama. Ryan Day has an albatross around his neck in the form of a Wolverine. STUFF happens. If tOSU plays and takes care of the Vols in Columbus, I'm not certain which team in a rematch with OBD would be favored. I do know that if OBD plays well and nevertheless loses to Ohio State in the Rose Bowl, I'm not calling for Dan's head. Losing 3 in a row to UWhoo hurt but OBD fans with a clue didn't want Dan canned. PLASTER PENN STATE!
