It's the Little Saint Nick, you don't know what you had, You had a comptition edge but now DeBoer's on the floor, And the Tide rolled out when a Seminole roared, And if that ain't enough to make flip your lid, Here's One More Thing: DeBoer ain't winning a Natty. 😁 People should make note of their Experation Date.

The B1G Plays Some Big Games in Week 2
Duke has opened the football wallet, making the Blue Devils a more likely B1G expansion candidate. UNC might be tempted to go the way of the SEC, but I'm fairly certain that Duke would want to go B1G. Duke, UNC, Notre Dame, Kansas, ASU, and FSU? The Seminoles are this close to AAU status and a B1G bid. 🤔 5 B1G P4 vs P4 games today. 2 versus the ACC, 2 versus the B12, and 1 against the SEC. The games were bigger in Week 1, but all 5 of these games will have an impact on conference SOS, making the PO, and PO seeding. A multi-million-dollar question: Will the B1G have three or four teams in the 2025-26 PO? Will the ACC and B12 have two? https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/why-duke-went-all-in-on-football-blue-devils-invest-heavily-for-program-to-compete-at-highest-level/?ftag=SNL-04-10aaa0b&ET_CID=471959&ET_RID=52482716

The B1G Plays Some Big Games in Week 2
FYI, if you're looking for a wager, Kansas +6.5 at Missouri is worth a look. Jayhawks QB Jaylon Daniels came on late last season and is playing better in 2025 than last season for 2-0 Kansas. This will be Penn State transfer QB Beau Pribula's 1st start vs a P4 opponent. He was neck and neck with QB Sam Horn, who went down last week with a season-ending injury. Pribula's strong point is his run game. How much of a risk will the M1zzou coaching staff want to take with Pribula running the ball? Do Not Bet More Than You Can Afford!

Is Oregon the Next Oklahoma State?
Without the help of Uncle Phil, the Oregon Athletic Department is one of the few in the Black. No accounting chicanery. Statements filed with the Feds have to conform to FASB accounting standards. Come 2031, OBD will be bringing in @$100 million B1G bucks a season. It will be more if the B1G adopts the Eat What You Kill PO revenue model and the Eyes on the Prize media revenue cut. And if CFB consolidates to 32 to 40 teams, OBD will not be left behind. Oregon has been at the forefront of college athletics marketing since Joey Harrington showed up in NYC. Oregon is a B1G Brand and a Big Brand, especially without Mario around to bury the brand. Charisma? No one does it better than Danno. 😍 (Especially Deion and Chaple Bill, notwithstanding all of the clicks.)

The B1G Plays Some Big Games in Week 2
The B1G going 14-2 in Week 1, and 2-1 against the Power 4 was nice; however, B1G teams were the favorites in all of the 14 games won, including now-ranked No. 1 Ohio State's win over Arch-Madness and the now-ranked 7th Texas Longhorns. UCLA's Coach Foster would like you to know that the Bruins were 'this close' to taking down Utah and turning a 43-10 loss into victory, and that the Rose Bowl was sold out with 59,670 UCLA fans disguised as empty seats. Pat Fitzgerald, where are you? Saturday, 9/6/25 - UCLA at UNLV, 5 PM CBSSN. Week Two's B1G Varsity versus Varsity Games - The Headliner - College Gameday, sans Coach Corso, who went out in a blaze of glory, going 6-0 with his picks, will be in Norman, Oklahoma, for the No. 15 Michigan Wolverines +5.5 versus No. 18 Oklahoma, as Wolverines head coach Sherrone Moore returns to his alma mater. (Before Sherrone takes an NCAA-mandated two-game nap, with another one coming in 2026.) An intriguing QB battle could be on hand with Frosh Bryce Underwood, battling Wazzu transfer QB John Mateer, both of whom are better off financially than they were in 2024 🤑. (Perhaps Michigan found Justice with Bama transfer RB Haynes. 😒) This is B1G vs. the SEC in the second of three matchups in 2025. 4:30 ABC. No. 11 Illinois -2.5 at No. 37 Duke. Another interesting QB battle with the Illini Super Senior, Luke Altmyer, going against Tulane transfer, and the reason Murph left for the G6, Darian Mensah. (Darian did not have to be a member of Mensa to make the Durham decision for a reported $8 million two-season Nil deal.) The Battling Bielema's beat down a bunch of FCS leathernecks last Saturday while Duke blew out the less-than-elite Elon. Is Illinois legit? Is the ACC as good as FSU and Miami looked in Week 1? Or was Clemson the tell? 9 AM ESPN. Iowa +3 at No. 16 Iowa State. This season's Cy-Hawk game has ramifications beyond the importance of a traditional rivalry game, where the Iowa Hawkeyes have a lead over the Iowa State Cyclones, 47-24. Last Saturday, Iowa Head Coach Kirk Ferentz tied Woody Hayes' record for wins by a Big Ten coach at 205 victories. He's looking to break the record in a stadium where Iowa has not lost since 2011. This is only the second time in the history of the series where the home-standing Cyclones and not the Hawkeyes are ranked. ALL-FCS QB Mark Gronowski was brought in to upgrade the Hawkeyes' passing attack. Mark was not on the mark, throwing for 44 yards and 1 TD. Iowa ran the ball 52 times for 310 yards. The Cyclones QB, Rocco Becht, is off to a great start. 2-0 Iowa State is the highest-ranked B12 team, and if the conference wants more than one team in the playoffs, it needs a win against a B1G opponent. 9 AM Fox. Michigan State -3.5 versus Boston College. J. Smith and his Spartans are looking for a victory after last season's close loss to BC and then starting QB Thomas Castellanos. (Ring a bell, Kalen 😁) Against Western Michigan, Aiden Chiles was decent at QB, 17-23 for 155 yards, 1 TD, and no interceptions. In Week 1, BC defeated Vince Lombardi's alma mater, Fordham, 66-10. Behind a rebuilt O-line, Sparty's run game busted the visiting Broncos. 4:30 PM NBC No. 6 OREGON -28.5 vs the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Cowboys coach Mike Gundy is broke, busted, and disgusted. After going 0 for the B12 in 2024, Mike took a one-million-dollar pay cut. Mike doesn't believe poor little OK State should have to battle the financial behemoth Oregon Ducks. You'd think a Power 4 coach would have more cents than to talk his way out of a Power coaching spot in Stillwater. We can't compete with Oregon and other programs with more money. OK, State, when the Super Conference arrives, perhaps you'll get a coveted bid and join the Pac-Whatever plus Gonzo. 2nd Week step 2 for OBD on the flight into a Whiteout. Before Gundy opened his trap, Danno may have called off the Ducks. Now? 12:30 PM CBS - On his last broadcasting lap, Gary Danielson visits the Autzen Zoo. Other P4 vs. P4 Week 2 games with a possible PO impact. Saturday, 9/6/2025 - 17 SMU vs. Baylor - 9 AM CW (Clueless What channel this is.) 1-0 Missouri vs 2-0 Kansas - The first Border War game since 2011. Expect the winner to be ranked next week. 12:30 PM ESPN2 No. 12 ASU at Mississippi State - Dilly and Company enter the land of Hell's Cow Bells. 4:30 PM ESPN 2. No. 21 Ole Miss at Kentucky - 12:30 PM ABC - Coach Mark Stoops needs to step up. No. 13 Florida vs. No. 33 and top-ranked G6 team, USF - 1:15 PM SEC Network - Possible trap game for a Gators team on the road next week in Baton Rouge vs. the No. 3 LSU Tigers. Friday Night 9/5/25 - B1G Appetizers 4:30 PM - BTN - Western Illinois at Northwestern, Northern Illinois at Maryland. Other B1G Games on Saturday - 9 AM BTN - Kennesaw State 🤪at Indiana, FIU at No. 2 Penn State, Minnesota vs. NW (Somewhere) State. 12:30 PM - No. 1 Ohio State vs. Grambling BTN, Miami-Ohio at Rutgers streaming on Peacock. The Scarlet Knights and Schiano get the Week 2 Bird. 4 PM - Middle Tennessee (might have been the best fit for young Archie?) at Wisconsin FS1 4:30 PM - Akron at No. 35 Nebraska, No. 29 USC vs. Georgia Southern, Southern Illinois at 1-0 !!! Purdue BTN 8 PM - BTN - UW vs. UC Davis. The 2nd week in a row that a Husky is Hidden under a Broadcast Bushel. 😁 With apologies to the author of 'Solomon Gundy.' Mike Gundy died on a Saturday, Buried on Sunday, And that was the end, Of Mike Gundy. 🤬 Lasso The Cowboys

The Meltdown in Alabama is EPIC
Great post, but even with a 'flattened out' field, one of the usual suspects, a team in the PO committee's top 6 in its final poll, will win the 2025-26 Natty. And this time, the team ranked 6th will not be the 8-seed. ASU could have and should have, but for a not-called targeting penalty, defeated Texas in the 2nd PO round. But would ASU have won two more games to win it all? Until it happens, the Usual Suspects, plus move-over OBD, with the resources and Dan to capitalize on the same, will win it all. More than ever, capital in CFB counts and then some.

The Meltdown in Alabama is EPIC
Mike, an old coach-player colloquium updated for the modern era of CFB. Coach: Son, you've been in this program for years and have never come close to living up to your potential. Is it because of an Intelligence Quotient failure or abject apathy? Player: Coach, I have my dough, so I don't know, and I don't care. 😁 As noted above, Saban bailed for a reason. When the only over-the-table money came from the NFL, no matter what your incoming number of stars, players balled out. Today, you recruit players with competitive zeal, with the love of the game, no matter the money, or the effort may not be there. How would I have handled being 17 or 18 with millions of dollars in the bank: 🤪! It's not just Bama losing that was so out of Saint Nick's Bama team's character; it was the lack of effort and being smash-mouthed in the process. We saw this movie last season vs. Vandy, Tennessee, Oklahoma, and Michigan, four teams that on paper shouldn't have had a chance. Perhaps Bama runs the table, or at least loses only one more game, and makes the PO with a win or two? I don't see it.

The Meltdown in Alabama is EPIC
I think boosters at Bama, as evidenced by DeBoer's recruiting, are willing to open the wallet and are not the problem. Bama is the No. 2-ranked team in 247 Sports Composite Roster Rankings. There is no lack of talent in Tuscaloosa, but a lack of desire?
-
The Meltdown in Alabama is EPIC
Is the smartest guy in CFB the TOSU QB who bailed from Bama at the same time as Saint Nick? Just Sayin. 😁 I need to add Caleb (I Don't Give Up 1st) Downs. And Michigan found Justice in RB Haynes.
