Oregon Received a B1G Welcome in Wisconsin
Thanks, DM. Another terrific take. With very few exceptions, every team on its way to a title will have one anomalous game, at least, pop up. In the case of the Wisconsin game, DM well noted the scheduling circumstances OBD was dealing with, the loss of a key player, Tez, and an off-game by Gabe. The 1st pick in the Red Zone is a TD instead and would the game have been all that close? For Ohio State, the game came against Nebraska with the Buckeyes coming off an Off Week and looking ahead to Penn State. Whether the Michigan game was an anomaly for Indiana remains to be seen. Michigan brought the best D the Hoosiers have played to Bloomington and it showed. Minnesota was a roll before no-showing at Rutgers. Then there's USC and Nebraska. 😒 When firing on all cylinders, OBD has dictated the style of play to B1G teams this season. After a much-needed oil change, I hope we see the same on 11/30 and 12/7 and all the way to a Natty on 1/20/25. 😍 PUNISH THE PUPPIES!

CBS Eye Test Has OBD No. 1 and Also has Questions for Texas. College football rankings: What my eye test says about the four best teams I've seen in 2024 - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM I traveled to watch the nation's top four teams in the preseason polls, and my in-person impressions of those programs have helped shape how I handicap the College Football Playoff. Does the Committee have a way, short of the Horns losing to Kentucky or A+M, to save face and drop Texas from the No. 3 ranking? No metric, including the Eye Test, supports Texas at No.3. The Committee has placed itself in a rankings corner by having Texas No. 3 and refusing to budge in what is supposed to be a 'fresh look' every Tuesday. SEC honchos are calling out the Committee and their 'Brother,' Texas. If One Loss is the only thing that matters to the Committee no matter the teams you play then all future P4 vs P4 scheduled OOC games should be canceled in favor of playing lesser opponents. That is a heck of a message for the Committee to send.

No team is being more hosed over than UGA. Who invited these Long Horns into the SEC and gave Bevo a B12 schedule? In the preseason you could see This Coming from far more than a mile away. The SEC bent over for Texas and hosed Georgia and Alabama. And both Sankey and Petitti knew the Committee would screw things up. So far, in favor of the B1G. After Saturday, Indiana will have played the same number of Committee-ranked opponents as Texas, and Indiana might be 1-0 instead of 0-1. UGA has every right to throw rocks but not just at The Committee's ranking of the Hoosiers. Georgia at 10? Are there nine better teams in the USA than the Dawgs? Come On Committee! Sense and Less are running the show in Grapevine. BTW - If MIzzou was not in the SEC would the CoMo Tigers be ranked? GO DAWGS - BEAT ... The Minutemen?

What if Indiana Beats Ohio State?
Indiana is in the top 6 in Strength of Record. A win over Ohio State would be the Hoosiers only Top 25 win; tOSU would stay in the Top 25 giving OBD 3 Top 25 wins. Indiana will not jump the Ducks. An Indiana win would be historic but it isn't going to happen. Day, Chip and Jim Knowles will have the Buckeyes ready to play. The Ohio State D is better than the Michigan D that shut down the Indiana O in the 2nd half in Bloomington. I expect the Ohio State receivers to feast on Indiana's smaller DBs and can Indiana hold up, even with Ohio State's starting Center out, against the best running attack and RBs Indiana has faced this season? The Oregon D is better than the Indiana D and the Buckeyes moved the ball versus OBD in Autzen. I think the Nebraska game was this season's anomalous game for the Buckeyes. I hope the Hoosiers can keep it reasonably close so the Committee doesn't give Indiana the BYU treatment and drop the Hoosiers out of the PO to make room for another SEC team. However, keep an eye on Ole Miss at Florida, A+M at Auburn, and Kentucky at Texas. 😁

Charles, more ammo for your POV on PO seeding and brackets. No. 5 Ohio State would play a 1st round game vs No. 12 BYU in Columbus. After defeating the Cougars, Ohio State would play Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl; OBD would play the winner of Bama vs. Notre Dame in the Rose Bowl. Both teams advance and Oregon would play Ohio State in the Cotton or Orange Bowl. Eugene to Dallas - 2,056 miles. The Ducks in this round would choose the shorter trip to Dallas. Columbus to Dallas - 1,041 miles. Hell of a format.

Playoffs? PLAYOFFS! "... we certainly consider SOS in all conversations that we have." Warde Manuel - Playoff Committee Chairman - And then we use the Eye Test. No. 10 Georgia - No. 1 SOS. No. 1 Strength of Record. 2-2 versus the Week 3 top 25 including a win over No. 3 Texas in Austin. Texas 1 Loss. Georgia 2 Losses. Nine football teams are better than Georgia? Hey, Brigham, do you think the Committee members are Young enough to stay up and watch our games? A late loss to Kansas on a ricocheted pooch punt = an 8-spot drop to No. 14 and a first-round game for BYU if these rankings were final. 1 loss BYU has a top 25 win in Gerald Ford Stadium in Dallas, Texas vs. No. 13 SMU. What in the HAY is this Committee's criteria? They're raising Cain in Miami. As 30 Duck noted above a No Mercy beat down of FCS Mercer on a Saturday when the Canes were MIA, logically leads to Bama moving up to No. 7 and jumping the No. 8 Canes. Right? The Ducks did pick up a 3rd top 25 win with Illinois sneaking into the 25 slot, behind FOUR. QUATRO, QUATRE, FOUR! G5 teams. The Illini have a win over the Kansas team that just dropped BYU 8 spots. Team Rankings SOS - 11/20/24 - ILLINOIS 51/ Tulane 65/ UNLV 71/ Army 120. Play Army's schedule and the Illini would also be undefeated. These rankings are brought to you by Dimwitz. WEEK 13 - The B1G Reveal - Ducks Clinch Indy Trip and Other Postseason Thoughts
Madison, Wisconsin, Saturday, November 16th, OBD defeats the Badgers, winning eight games in a row versus B1G foes to go 11-0. Huzzah! Chicago, Illinois, B1G HQ, Tuesday, November 19th, sometime after a B1G Lunch. (Burp.) Congratulations Ducks! On Saturday night you clinched a conference champ game berth and another trip back East, this time to Indianapolis. How good can it get, right? Chicago, Illinois, B1G HQ, November 19th, sometime after Tea + Crumpets. Commissioner Tony Petitti - I am delighted to announce that we will be trading in our Abacus for something called a 'Computer?' 😁 ............................................................................................................................................................ Friday, October 13, 1307: Agents of King Phillip of France arrest every Knights Templar they can find on trumped-up charges of heresy. The Templars' true crime: Phil owed them a lot of dough. This led to the superstition that Friday the 13th is cursed and the general superstition that the number 13 is cursed. Ask Astronaut Jim Lovell who was in command of Apollo 13. Week 13 is the penultimate week of the 2024/25 regular season. It's a good week to chill out and watch the Hoosiers battle the Bucks for the right to play OBD in Indy. (It's also a good time to stock up on comic books, coloring books, crayons, and knitting needles in anticipation of a long offseason. 😧) Of course, OBD fans are hoping for five more games to be played: UWho, B1G Champ Game, Rose Bowl, Cotton or Orange Bowl, and The BIGGEE in Atlanta on January 20, 2025. Six games left if OBD does not Win the Day in Indy. 11/30/24 - UWho comes to Autzen for a visit, with Dan Lanning hoping to end the 0-3 dog poop nonsense. UW is 6-5 and bowl eligible. Jedd Fisch who lost Forty Players from the 2023/24 College Football runner-up team, has done an excellent job to have this team bowl-eligible; especially, after losing a winnable game vs. Wazzu early in the season and going 0-5 on the road to date. UW has been in every game this season, except the White Out in Nittany Valley, largely due to the play of Steve Belichick's defense, No. 17 in the nation, surrendering 4.80 yards per play. True Frosh Desmond Williams, JR. could get the start against OBD after being named B1G Freshman of the Week for his play versus UCLA. Fisch Won't Reveal His Starting QB Before UW-Oregon Game WWW.SI.COM Three days after leading the University of Washington football team to 17 second-half points and a 31-19 victory over UCLA, quarterback Demond Williams Jr. crea Bowl-eligible UWho will come into Autzen with nothing to lose. This is the Puppies Super Bowl before possibly heading to El Paso on 12/31/24, or being shuffled off to Shreveport. 😍 Conference Champ Game - 12/7/24. A 12-0 Ducks team is odds-on to play 11-1 Ohio State in the B1G Champ Game. The Bucks are favored by 3-points. The winner of this game is odds-on to be the Playoff No. 1 seed and play on January 1, 2025, in the Rose Bowl. the Ohio State University - Jim Knowles Buckeyes D is 1st in Scoring Defense, 3rd Yards Per Rush, and 3rd in Yards Per Play, 4.26 yards. Against OBD, Ohio State gave up 32 points, 341 passing yards, 7.6 yards per play, and had ZERO sacks. Think the Bucks D will be fired up vs the Ducks? A Rose Bowl appearance by OREGON would duplicate its 2015 Rose Bowl to kick off the 4-Team Playoff. The Ducks, beat up, and beat down Dumbo, er Jimbo, and Jameis, 59-20. But the game was close, right, Jameis? 😁 Here's hoping OBD has Tez and all other dinged-up Ducks on deck for the B1G game in Indy. ................................................................................................................... Can the Ducks Peak? How Many Losses for Oregon in the SEC?
Thanks, Darren. If the Ducks are not the B1G conference champion, OBD, if it played for the title in Atlanta, would have Six Games left to play. Home vs. UWho and the 1st round PO game. On the road in Indianapolis, a game in the Fiesta, Sugar, or Peach Bowl, a game in the Cotton or Orange Bowl, and 1/20/25 in Atlanta. Whew! Echoing comments above: Is Oregon in the SEC playing Georgia's 2024 schedule or Texas' 2024 schedule? Oregon defeated the common opponent, Michigan with both games played in Ann Arbor. Oregon would go 4-0 vs. Texas OOC slate. Again mirroring the Texas schedule, Georgia would have played OBD at Autzen Stadium. I think Oregon could have won a close game over UGA, especially if Beck threw three Picks like he did vs. the Horns. OBD would have been favored on the road vs. Mississippi State, Vandy, Arkansas, and the upcoming game at TX A+M, versus Oklahoma at any neutral site, Florida, and Kentucky. Again, if OBD played Texas' schedule the Ducks would be headed toward the SEC champ game in Atlanta. Thanks again.
