  1. Well Deserved Kudos from Trojans Wire. John Robinson, dead at 89, made an extraordinary contribution to USC TROJANSWIRE.USATODAY.COM John Robinson won big. He won a lot of Rose Bowls. He was a great USC head football coach for all the obvious reasons. His legacy, though, is even more specific.
  2. RIP Coach and Duck, John Robinson Oregon mourns the passing of former player, coach, and Hall of Famer John Robinson AUTZENZOO.COM John Robinson was a tight end on the Oregon football team before he eventually got his first-ever coaching gig with the Ducks.
  3. Bobby Orr erases the Stanley Cup Blues for Olde Towne folk with the game winner vs. the Saint Louis Blues. How sweet it was! 😍
  4. Nice article, eh? But only Hosers play Volleyball, no fights, no penalty box, chiclets intact, and a ball bigger than Rhode Island instead of manning it up and strapping on sharpened blades. And the gals who aim at a tiny net instead of bouncing the big ball over a net the size of Alaska, aren't Rinky-dinky either, eh? It's too bad you grew up in a tropical paradise like Eugene, and missed out on the Game of Cement-Heads, eh? If the real game of ice hockey was four periods long, the games would last one hour and twenty minutes (I'm good at math, eh? 😁) and the Zamboni (that's a machine not a sub sandwich) would run out of gas, eh? Was it the Miracle on a Volleyball Court or the Miracle on Ice, eh? SERIOUSLY, another terrific and fun read. I think there could be some rope-a-dope going on here. Dan knows how important the Middle 8, 4 minutes before the 2nd half and 4the first 4 minutes of the 3rd quarter, are in a football game. He also knows this will be the longest CFB season ever and that he is playing in a conference where most teams are not built to come back from a two-score deficit. In a conference with fewer possessions on offense and with clock rules that have shortened the game. Puddles, we're not in the Pac-12 anymore. 😁 In its 8 wins, Ohio State has given up 64 points. Against Ohio State, OBD put up 32 points. And in your excellent article, you noted that OBD did not play Portland State, instead swapping the Vikings for a top FCS program in Idaho and a 3-point grind it out, thank you special teams, win over Boise has turned out to be a good win. Against Ohio State, Oregon unleashed what Charles refers to as 'Bird Bombs' against a highly touted group of DBs to great effect. OBD lost the 1st Q 6-7 and the 3rd Q 0-7 validating your point. But this came against a team that surrendered no TDs in the last two games against ranked Penn State and bottom feeder Purdue. I am hoping that OBD will have all hands-on deck for the possible deep run in the playoff. However, I think we will see the same strategy if OBD gets the lead of burning time off the clock instead of trying to light up the scoreboard. Thanks again, great take. I'm off to pound down a Molson's, eh.
  5. Where Do They Find These Guys? Indiana plays Ohio State on 11/23, not this Saturday. This Saturday Indiana is off and Ohio State plays Northwestern in Wrigley Field. And No. 1 Oregon would play in the Rose Bowl Not The Sugar Bowl where Texas would play. Even if the top seeded teams had their choice of 2nd round bowl sites, why would No. 1 Oregon opt to play in New Orleans instead of in Pasadena. This is not a secret, the PO Poobahs have explicitly stated: B1G to the Rose; SEC to the Sugar; ACC to the Peach; B12 or G5 rep if seeded 4th, to the Fiesta. I hope that experiencing puberty will not be too B1G of a shock for Ethan (Perhaps He's) Stone(d)? Big Ten bowl projections after Week 11: Does an 11-1 Indiana make the Playoff? 8. Great take. I prefer a Bye until the Rose Bowl on 1/1/25 rather than having to play a physical quarter-final game vs a Boise team that will come in confident after a last play 3 point loss in Autzen. More time for Tez, Marcus and other dinged-up Ducks to get healthy. OBD does not defeat Boise without TJ's punt return.
  9. Boise State the 4 Seed? BYU the 6 seed? With Notre Dame at BYU Holy War Jr.? College Football Playoff bracket prediction: Georgia, BYU tumble; Texas, Boise State grab first-round byes - CBSSports.com WWW.CBSSPORTS.COM Major changes are expected in the second College Football Playoff rankings after a wild weekend. CBS Sports has the Ducks coming up Roses. 😍
  10. Early line for a Ducks vs Bucks rematch is Ohio State -3. Considering the game will be played in the Eastern time zone and in a stadium tOSU is familiar with, at least was familiar with going back 4 seasons 😆 -3 is close to a Pick 'Em. To be nationally respected OBD has to win a Natty and then win a couple of more for the first one not to be a "fluke." I'm certain Dan would love first to get to the game and would be happy to be an Under - Duck in the game. BLAST THE BADGERS!

  13. In South Central, the Hits Just Keep On Coming. With Friends Like These? DeShaun Foster excels at UCLA while Lincoln Riley flounders at USC TROJANSWIRE.USATODAY.COM No one can debate that DeShaun Foster has gotten more out of minimal UCLA talent than Lincoln Riley has extracted from his USC team in 2024.
  14. How About 4 B1G Teams in the Top 5! AP Top 25: Oregon remains No. 1 as Big Ten grabs 4 of top 5 spots; Georgia, Miami out of top 10 APNEWS.COM Oregon is the No. 1 team in The Associated Press Top 25 college football poll for the fourth straight week.
  15. Unless the Surgeon General steps in, I think that it's Cig's to lose. 😁
  16. As I believed could be the case in the preseason, the Athens Dawgs was one of the SEC teams that looked like it was handed the short end of the SEC scheduling stick in 2024, and UGA took on Clemson in the opener and still has a feisty Georgia Tech team to play. Top 10 Tennessee visits Athens Saturday. Geogia has already played four games against teams in the Committee's Top 25, three on the road. Scheduling in these mega-conferences is all over the place when it comes to SOS. Georgia plays 8 conference games in 2024 and misses 7 SEC teams. OBD plays 9 conference games in 2024 and misses 7 B1G teams. In 2025, Michigan and Ohio State are not on the Oregon schedule. Georgia in 2025 plays the same cast of characters. MIami in 2024 plays 8 conference games and misses 8 conference teams including Clemson, Pitt, and SMU. Miami also misses half-ACC'd Notre Dame. Since 2017, Notre Dame is 45-7 vs the ACC in the regular season; 4-0 in 2024 with one ACC game leaft to be played vs UVA on Staurday. Notre Dame plays 4 G5 opponents in 2024 and of course, will not play a conference champ game. Was 3-loss Louisville ranked last week to justify Miami being ranked at No. 4. Louisville is Miami's sole top 25 win. Committee Chair Ward Manuel said Miami looked good according to the Committee's Eye Test. Did these folks not watch the VA Tech, Cal, and Duke games? In its win over Louisville, Tyler Shough had better stats than Cam Ward. In many respects, the Committee is doing what Greg Sankey and Tony Petitti feared, far too much eye-testing and not enough statistical analysis although we do not know the metrics this Committee uses and how the metrics are valued. I'm reasonably certain that Boise could defeat both BYU and Miami and I watched 4-5 Nebraska destroy CU. I hope the UGA team that trampled Texas shows up Saturday. The Bama team Tennessee played at home was certainly not the Bama team that destroyed LSU on Saturday. NIL and a mostly unrestricted right to transfer has spread the wealth and it shows first and foremost in the SEC. Vanquish the Vols! Wipe Out Wisconsin!
  17. Low of 46 degrees, 15% chance of rain. It will be nearer the low in the 2nd half and what will the wind be like coming off of Lake Mendota. "No problem, it's like going into Wisconsin." "I got the spam beat out of me in Wisconsin." If Dan can go 8-0 with a win over Ohio State and on the road at Michigan, he will be the only coach in the P4 to do so in 2024. Two of the last three games played three and two time zones away from Eugene and the last two opponents coming off Idle Weeks.
  18. Ducks Wire quoted Dan as saying they were monitoring and conscientious of, the number of James's carries this season. Lanning is well aware that this could be a 16 or 17-game season and you have to do what you can to keep players fresh. Especially a guy who relishes contact.
  19. This will be 8 in a row for OBD without a nap. Wisconsin is coming off a bye and it's a 6:30 local KO, plenty of time for Badgers fans to brewski it up. A bye week after Wisconsin and then UW at home before in all likelihood traveling to Indianapolis to play a rematch with Ohio State. The Ohio State which gave up 32 points to Oregon has allowed a total of 64 points in its 8 wins. Will Dez be good to go on 12/7 in Indy?

Oregon Ducks' Dan Lanning Earns One-Year Contract Extension Worth $9.4 Million WWW.YARDBARKER.COM The No. 1 Oregon Ducks remain undefeated thanks to a 39-18 victory over the unranked Maryland Terrapins in Autzen Stadium on Saturday night. 23. But the Commodores could not sink Vanderbilt! Paaawwwwall, stay in your own lane!
  24. YES! An 11-1 OBD is playing in Indianapolis. OBD has the tiebreaker against 11-1 Ohio State, Penn State, and Indiana. UW raised the white flag last night in front of a White Out. Indiana at Ohio State on 11/23 will almost certainly decide OBD's champ game opponent, with Ohio State playing Northwestern on Saturday and the Buckeyes odds on to beat Michigan on 11/30. I do not see the Hoosiers losing against Purdue at home on 11/30, so it's 12-0 or 11-1 for Indiana. Penn State plays at Purdue on Saturday, at Minnesota on 11/23, the Gophers went down to Rutgers yesterday, and Maryland. WAX WISCONSIN!
  25. Thank you, Jordan, another terrific game recap. As you so noted it's November so Just Win Baby! Three undefeated P4 teams remain, OBD, Indiana, 10-0 for the first time in Hoosiers' history, and BYU with a very fortunate late 22-21 win in Salt Lake City. Army is the only undefeated G5 team. The Indiana win sets up a B1G PO Matchup Game in Columbus on 11/23. A 12-0 Oregon is playing in Indianapolis for the B1G title on December 7th as is an 11-1 Oregon with the tiebreaker over both Indy and Ohio State. UW once again did not fare well on the road. 😁 I Am Peeved! The Ducks game kicks off in Madison at 6:30 PM local time on NBC. The Fox Big Noon game is Utah at Colorado. CBS at 3:30 Eastern is broadcasting Penn State at Purdue! 😒 And the folks in the B1G offices in Chicago gave OBD back-to-back weeks of playing opponents coming off an Idle Week. Whatever, Just Win, Baby! The SEC? Georgia has no twitch, Bowers, McConkey, or game-breaking RB to help Beck. The Georgia O line looked like a sieve versus the Portal King's D line. Brian Kelly was 13-0 in night games at Tiger Stadium. He's now 13-1 with Bama emphatically shutting the door on LSU's Playoff hopes. Florida had a 3-star transfer from Yale at QB and not its 5* true Frosh stud. Not a good showing after the Florida AD announced that Billy Napier would be back in 2025. Which SEC team will show up on Saturday? UGA looked nothing like the team that defeated Texas. Texas looked nothing like the team that lost to Georgia. Ole Miss looked nothing like the team that lost to Kentucky in Oxford. And the Gamecocks sunk Vandy. Man, I would not want to be on the PO Committee. They best issue flak jackets to these folks. Thanks again, Jordan. WASTE WISCONSIN!
