Pretty sure up north they call them privy's, much more stately name. I also think it is an attempt to tattoo the backsides of the recruits with their patented indelible purple sanitation water. What you don't see is scholarship players waiting for the recruits to go so they can drop a rock in the vent pipe and tattoo the backside of the recruits purple. This is what they call fun up north. The problem is this is what a privy looks like on the inside, up in dawg country.

Mens Track Recruiting Has Big Victories...
Haywarduck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Simeon had a lot left, and he should be an interesting one to watch help bring back Oregon's distance running. Interesting to hear the pundit mention Prefontaine as a comparison. Prefontaine didn't come from the back, he led all the way and punished people. Nobody is like Pre, and maybe someday we will see another. We can hope Simeon will learn from some of his quotes, the way he trained, raced. Be somebody Simeon! -
Could This Be the Pac-12’s Long-Term Plan?
Haywarduck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Sloth, or, we can only hope, the tortoise who wins in the end. Stay tuned, or not, as this tortoise race isn't too fun to watch. I suppose just a little better than the dawgs spring game. -
Could This Be the Pac-12’s Long-Term Plan?
Haywarduck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Or is George the tortoise, while the other conferences, or those who moved too quickly the hares? It is going to take some shrewd moves and luck to make that scenario play out. -

Great stuff, once again, just seems like George is more like a sloth in the middle of a road, than a savvy negotiator right now. -
Interesting Quotes About Dan Lanning by a Recruit...
Haywarduck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Having faith can give way to respecting others faith. Also having faith allows for that faith to grow into other areas. My bet is Lanning is as respectful as he is faithful. That is a combo which can empower all those who become part of his team. One aspect of a successful team is everyone respects and supports one another. I would say that is the faith to which Lanning communicates to recruits. I would say Lanning respects, and believes. That believe in the student athletes extends beyond the field to them as a person. -

The Will Stein Oregon Offense: Four Verts
Haywarduck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Hopefully you feel the work you put in is appreciated. Each article you produce enlightens, and excites the Duck faithful. They also aren't just opinion pieces, the work you put in is evident. The two things I want to see are speed, and the use of speed within the program once again. You highlight how we are going to be the most exciting program in college football again. If we can keep getting speed guys and use them as the weapons they are the future is extremely bright. -

Beautiful back story on his mom and her impact on him as he worked to get where he is. Wyndham Clark's US Open win on Father's Day also a tribute to his late mom WWW.NBCLOSANGELES.COM Wyndham Clark’s first major championship victory came on Father’s Day and served as a tribute to his mom, who died of breast cancer in 2013. -

Up at the turn, but the pressure will get INTENSE as he comes home. Good luck Wyndham! -
Wondering if SDSU can elevate it's football, basketball programs by joining the Pac and by how much? Seems like sc has floundered lately, and if Riley leaves they could again. Much like Miami did, sc just might become a second tier program looking to find that magic again after leaving the Pac. SDSU could elevate and become the new darling in socal? In Florida many smaller schools have done well as the big boys have floundered. Miami, FSU and Florida haven't been dominant and some other programs have filled the void. Can the Pac become the magic for SDSU and maybe even SMU? Maybe sc and cla have truly chased fools gold and the real gold is a west coast conference without the spoiled rotten programs.

Oregon is Warm on SIX 5-Star Recruits: Can They Get Hot?

Can we get hot, pretty sure that is Lanning behind that flame thrower. He is on fire, and the flame isn't going out anytime soon! -
Huskies React to Having Only ONE Verbal Left...
Haywarduck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Not a time to panic, they have the 9th rated class, I mean the 109th rated class. Just a few programs behind Moorhead's Zips. -

Not sure why they didn't just charge some money for attending their spring game, could have balanced that shortfall quickly! -

Yikes. Serious Stuff about Oral Roberts...
Haywarduck replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I think Oregon having difficulty toughened them up. Hopefully the lack of difficulty this opponent has seen will prove a weakness. O Roberts is a good team though. Seems like baseball is such an emotional game, and if Oral, is that really a name, gets rattled, maybe they won't have the tenacity to win the big game. That's my scenario, sticking to it, Go Ducks! By the way beating an opponent who's university has never won a men's national title is expected, not something difficult. Sooner or later the dawgs are going to lay down, and why nobody should send their son to seattle to learn how to become a winner. -
Bye Bye CFP for USC in 2024 as Schedule of Games Released

That is truly the astounding thing, winning doesn't matter as much as the Ducks losing. I always respected the cougs focus on one game, beat the dawgs, but the beav mentality is tough to understand. I have to admit I enjoy the dawgs losing greatly, but it doesn't match the joy of seeing our program win.

I think McGuire spelled out one of the secret ingredients to immediate success, a senior leader who is a top ten draft pick. Having an on-field leader is critical to turning around a program. We have Bo on offense, and we now need a top defender to step up and lead. Neither program has a Tyree Wilson, but each program will need to fill a void in leadership on defense. This may be the difference maker with both programs this season. Whether it is on the court, the many point guards who carried Ernie, or on the field, strong leadership makes a huge difference. We didn't have it last year on defense and it showed. They had it and it carried their defense, and empowered their program. If we have a guy step up, or a few, who knows how high this team can go!

Ty Thompson to Attend Manning Passing Academy
Haywarduck replied to Tandaian's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I heard a piece about what it takes to be a formula one driver. The amount of information a driver has to process, and the intensity of the action is second to none. Many can drive, but few can drive a formula one car. The sport often had multiple deaths every year well into the 70's. While I don't think being a D-1 quarterback is exactly like being a formula one driver it does take a lot of processing and an ability to handle some intense moments. I wonder if a formula-1 simulator would be a good indicator about a qb's capability, much better than camps, and high school football. The measurables of a qb, like a china doll, are pretty easy to see from a distance. The intensity and complexity of the situations a college qb has to deal with are a whole different variable that often gets rated. How many times has a sure thing qb not panned out, too many times. Maybe Ty should train on a formula-1 simulator, or Oregon should install one for the athletes, and maybe Oregon should test their qb recruits on the simulator? -
Ty Thompson to Attend Manning Passing Academy
Haywarduck replied to Tandaian's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
There is definitely talent which meets it's level of incompetence, but there is also incompetent development of talent. I think Ty suffered from early incompetent talent development which may have affected his ability up to this point. I personally always scratched my head when I saw the play calling for Ty last year, and before. I hope to see better play calling for him this year. I also realize that can't explain everything. I also hope to see better development of his in game ability. I think it was interesting to see him stay in and the coaches give him the whole spring game. They are definitely going to give Ty a real shot. The question is will Ty make anything of this shot, or will Novasad become something early? I do think the coaches know they have a back-up plan on the bench. We have a senior who has lots of experience, and is the second most experienced senior at qb, Matt Rush. If plan B, developing a qb, doesn't work, expect to see Rush manage the games until Nix can get back on the field. Rush seems like he has the experience to at least manage a game with some extremely talented skill players. I doubt we have a coach who has no clue about what he is going to do if plan A or B fails. Those days are thankfully behind us. -
Oregon Ducks Football: Biggest Recruit of 2024
Haywarduck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Great article Alex, but I would say the shift to speed within the quality of players Lanning is bringing in is the big story. The previous coaches have proven Oregon is a destination for talented players. What Lanning is doing is bringing speed to both the offense and defense, and highlighting that talent. I do agree an upgrade of talent on the both the lines is going to be the quiet big story. The noise we will hear going forward is going to be from speed returning to the program. From LB's closing on RB's trying to round the corner, to WR's breaking down defenses the Oregon Program will again be the most exciting show in college football. I look forward to a continued talent upgrade throughout the program within the vision Lanning has for Oregon. We finally have a coach who gets the Oregon Program and knows how to bring it back to life. Many didn't realize it but the Oregon Football Program was on life support, but it is coming back! -
Don’t Sleep On Oregon’s Secret Superstars
Haywarduck replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
I would add the difference with this Lanning team is the depth. Lanning is building depth and competition for playing time at every position like we have never seen before. Great article and I look forward to seeing both of these guys light up the opponents. The difference from years past is if they go down we don't. I think the defensive line might be one of the most interesting areas to watch. There could be some fierce battles for playing time, and the old guard is going to get pushed at all positions.
