  1. Thanks for posting this. I had bookmarked it to share today if no one else had. An excellent look into an Oregon Athlete that to me exemplifies the best of what we want our athletes to be - incredible performers on the field of play, and an even better student/citizen with a vision of life beyond the sport itself! Go Ducks!!
  2. I couldn't agree more! No matter how bad the Ducks were playing, these 2 clowns made it exponentially worse!
  3. Go Ducks!! (not beavers....)
  4. No excuses for our Ducks, but a couple notes from my extremely lay person's point of view... 1) Our Ducks have played a lot of games in the last 2 - 3 weeks, looked to me like they just didn't have their legs under them, possible fatigue. 2) We got to where we were in the season due to (among other things) Duarte being the fire cracker, getting things started, dishing the ball, nailing 3 pointers and stealing 2.0 balls per game. The last couple weeks, especially the last week, as Richardson is coming on stronger, I sense Duarte is backing off from being the play maker. I think the last stat I saw on his steals is that he is down to 1.7 steals per game. That seems like quite a drop-off in just a few games. I think there is some uncertainty between Will and Chris as to who is running the offense, and that uncertainty is causing Duarte to back off - not a good thing for us!! I think Coach Altman needs to get his arms around this and get Duarte back to being involved 110% like he has been all season. Just my .02 worth... Go Ducks!!
  5. Sometimes I like Canzano... Go Ducks!!
  6. I don't care what metric you use, it if shows Ducks winning, I'm good with it!! LOL!! Go Ducks!!
  7. I think a big part of the reason Coach Altman is so good is that he appears to be here for the journey, not just the trophy at the end. From comments following the UCLA game, he stated that he was just wanting the guys to have fun playing. I think that was in the context of the seniors enjoying their last games as Ducks, but to me it speaks overall of his objective as a coach. Also, if I understand the after game comments correctly, the players were the ones that wanted to crank up the defense and go man-to-man in their efforts to shut down the Bruins (which ended up winning the game for us!) Any Coach that cares more about the players than the trophy, and puts that together with a great coaching schematic is certainly going to have some level of success. I think Coach Altman adds something special through his personality that takes it over the top. We are truly blessed to have Coach Altman on our side! Go Ducks!!
  8. And, he always says it in the most sarcastic way possible... I do sometimes enjoy listening to his hyperbolic gushing when he is going on and on about how Oregon is owning the conference of champions, and also enjoy his "Eugene from Eugene " nickname for Omoruyi, but a lot of times I just have to tune him out. Oh, yeah, I also enjoy knowing that Duarte is going to continue to be right handed for the rest of the game... LOL!! Anyways, Go Ducks!!
  9. With the current talk of relocating our game with Ohio State to a neutral site since we lost the game at Autzen, I was thinking this could make a great "neutral" site! Imagine... 5pm start so we are prime time on the east coast, stands packed with the Oregon faithful, sun fading from view as we are on our way to winning our 2nd game of 2021! Could it happen?
  10. ...to quote the one who shall remain nameless... LOL!!
  11. In case anyone was trying to figure out why we're looking for a new Conference Commissioner...
  12. RIP Gar! Thank you Charles for posting this tribute to Gar Pearson. Some of my best memories of Duck fandom come from the early 2010's as UO resumed varsity baseball in 2009. One of my former co-workers is a huge baseball fan and a fellow Duck Fanatic, and together we followed Ducks Baseball in the Spring of each year, finding a nice compliment to our shared fascination with what was happening with Ducks Football. Due to conflicting work schedules, we were never able to make it to any games in person, but spent hours following the games at work via radio whenever a game was broadcast. During these years I found FishDuck, and in Baseball season tremendously enjoyed the writings of Gar. I followed the link you posted Charles, to find Gar's archive, and have enjoyed re-reading some of his work. In so many ways, he is like a poet in his treatment of the game and PK Park. Here's the one I re-read this morning: Duck Baseball and Clam Chowder Magna Cum Laude! I too am missing Gar, and although I never knew him personally, I enjoyed the look into his heart he shared with each article. Thank you Gar!!
  13. Thank you Charles, this has given all of us a way to stay connected with the Ducks and each other, and in a manner that promotes free thinking and conversation! Thank you!! Go Ducks!!
  14. Thanks Charles, for posting the pic of Franck! He is quickly becoming a force that our opponents have to go around, as they cannot go through. Love to see his hustle! Go Ducks!!
  15. What a great read! Of course, given my affinity for maps, I had to look up Alma, Quebec... Boy, that burg is a long ways away from downtown! Glad to see Chris doing well, wish him all the best going forward!! Go Ducks!!
  16. I'll be watching! Looking forward to some satisfaction in this rematch!
  17. Thanks RatherBe, we appreciate the time and skills you put into this map!
  18. Thanks for the memory, Charles! This is actually my favorite Golden Earring cut as opposed to Radar Love, especially the extended version. I thoroughly enjoyed the listen!
  19. I like maps. I can sit and look at maps for hours, just to see where everything is. And I really like maps like this one that show Oregon owning more states than any other school, including Alabama! I remember the press conference where Coach Cristobol was talking about signing the best player in 7!! states, and I didn't understand the full significance of that statement until I saw this map. I think this is pretty darn cool! Go Ducks!!
  20. Ha! You beat me to it! Was swinging by GoDucks.com to check time/channel for tonight's game, and ran across this on the front page. Great article by Mosley (as usual), and it was awesome to get to know Franck a little better. As I recently commented elsewhere, I am really enjoying watching this young man play, love his attitude! Looking forward to watching him blossom under the tutelage of our excellent coaching staff! Go Ducks!!
  21. I'm really looking forward to watching KT this fall! With a new, aggressive DC, a new defensive scheme, and spring and fall camps to bring the defense together, I am expecting a monster year from KT! Go Ducks!!
  22. On the whole, I think we need to consider the 2020 season as an outlier, and just get back to work this spring. Everyone has a bad day at work once in a while, where you have to ignore the negativity, just shrug it off and start tomorrow morning all over again, taking names and kicking butts. This whole season was a bad day at work, time to pick it up and get back to it! Go Ducks!!
  23. Lots of stuff to like in this game, IMO. My 2 favorite aspects of this game are really like a 1a & 1b. 1a) Jalen Terry out of nowhere draining 3s like nobody's business! 1b) The big grin on Kepnang's face throughout the game - dude was genuinely having fun! 1bb) Oh yeah, the joy of beating the snot out of the purple puppies yet once again!! Go Ducks!!
