  1. RIP Gar! Thank you Charles for posting this tribute to Gar Pearson. Some of my best memories of Duck fandom come from the early 2010's as UO resumed varsity baseball in 2009. One of my former co-workers is a huge baseball fan and a fellow Duck Fanatic, and together we followed Ducks Baseball in the Spring of each year, finding a nice compliment to our shared fascination with what was happening with Ducks Football. Due to conflicting work schedules, we were never able to make it to any games in person, but spent hours following the games at work via radio whenever a game was broadcast. During these years I found FishDuck, and in Baseball season tremendously enjoyed the writings of Gar. I followed the link you posted Charles, to find Gar's archive, and have enjoyed re-reading some of his work. In so many ways, he is like a poet in his treatment of the game and PK Park. Here's the one I re-read this morning: Duck Baseball and Clam Chowder Magna Cum Laude! I too am missing Gar, and although I never knew him personally, I enjoyed the look into his heart he shared with each article. Thank you Gar!!
  2. Thank you Charles, this has given all of us a way to stay connected with the Ducks and each other, and in a manner that promotes free thinking and conversation! Thank you!! Go Ducks!!
  3. Thanks Charles, for posting the pic of Franck! He is quickly becoming a force that our opponents have to go around, as they cannot go through. Love to see his hustle! Go Ducks!!
  4. What a great read! Of course, given my affinity for maps, I had to look up Alma, Quebec... Boy, that burg is a long ways away from downtown! Glad to see Chris doing well, wish him all the best going forward!! Go Ducks!!
  5. I'll be watching! Looking forward to some satisfaction in this rematch!
  6. Thanks RatherBe, we appreciate the time and skills you put into this map!
  7. Thanks for the memory, Charles! This is actually my favorite Golden Earring cut as opposed to Radar Love, especially the extended version. I thoroughly enjoyed the listen!
  8. I like maps. I can sit and look at maps for hours, just to see where everything is. And I really like maps like this one that show Oregon owning more states than any other school, including Alabama! I remember the press conference where Coach Cristobol was talking about signing the best player in 7!! states, and I didn't understand the full significance of that statement until I saw this map. I think this is pretty darn cool! Go Ducks!!
  9. Ha! You beat me to it! Was swinging by GoDucks.com to check time/channel for tonight's game, and ran across this on the front page. Great article by Mosley (as usual), and it was awesome to get to know Franck a little better. As I recently commented elsewhere, I am really enjoying watching this young man play, love his attitude! Looking forward to watching him blossom under the tutelage of our excellent coaching staff! Go Ducks!!
  10. I'm really looking forward to watching KT this fall! With a new, aggressive DC, a new defensive scheme, and spring and fall camps to bring the defense together, I am expecting a monster year from KT! Go Ducks!!
  11. On the whole, I think we need to consider the 2020 season as an outlier, and just get back to work this spring. Everyone has a bad day at work once in a while, where you have to ignore the negativity, just shrug it off and start tomorrow morning all over again, taking names and kicking butts. This whole season was a bad day at work, time to pick it up and get back to it! Go Ducks!!
  12. Lots of stuff to like in this game, IMO. My 2 favorite aspects of this game are really like a 1a & 1b. 1a) Jalen Terry out of nowhere draining 3s like nobody's business! 1b) The big grin on Kepnang's face throughout the game - dude was genuinely having fun! 1bb) Oh yeah, the joy of beating the snot out of the purple puppies yet once again!! Go Ducks!!
  13. Justin becomes the first Duck to be named, Rookie Of The Year! Justin talks about his season.
  14. Wow, how time flies.... What a difference maker!
  15. I panicked for a second when I saw the dog face, but then I remembered - o yeah, UConn... LOL!!
  16. ...a moment I'll not soon forget... I believe the only way to heal from this atrocity is more trips to the Natty! Go Ducks!!!
  17. Payton's motor never stops... love that kid! Glad he's doing so well at the next level!! Go Ducks!!!
  18. As I believe most of the other posters have been, I too was drawn to the original FishDuck site by my love of Oregon Football. But I also believe that we (being awesome OREGON fans, have a deep appreciation for all the sports played throughout the year. I don't mind at all this forum being more football centered (especially with the recent disappointing ending to our season), but I know I also have a strong interest in the other sports. I'm enjoying the basketball background as I am also a big Ducks BB fan, and love how the college game is played. The only sport I personally participated in was track in high school (waaay back in the last century...), so I also keep track of what is going on with our world class athletes in track and field. I am looking forward to many other photos as the seasons and years go by. Thanks Charles, for the time, energy & $$ you invest into this site! BTW, the font size increase does help a little...
  19. Glad to see Duarte get the recognition. Chris always hustles, and boy did he turn it UP in last 6 minutes on Saturday! His play, and the MBB win sure helped Saturday end on a better note... Congratulations Chris, and thanks for playing so hard! Go Ducks!!
  20. Dunno how things are going to go with Avalos, but I bet that Boise looks a lot better this morning than it did yesterday morning...
  21. wow... just jumping in here late with a few comments - if there is redundancy, my apologies... I really think we can hang this loss on the coaching staff, primarily the Head Coach. Taking Shough out just before the end of the first drive really messed with our mojo. We've been hearing that they wanted Tyler to get his confidence back, but subbing him out right before the good stuff happened was a bad idea. I'm not sure the coaches were successful in getting buy-in from him about this new 2 quarterback system that seemed to pop up overnight as it were. Then when Brown couldn't sustain an actual drive, they sub Tyler back in, but his body language showed no emotion or drive. At one point in the game, the camera panned across Tyler when the other players were applauding a play on the field, and Tyler was just clapping politely - no emotion at all. Wouldn't surprise me to see his name in the transfer portal tomorrow.... It also wouldn't surprise me if the unusually poor performance on special teams was also impacted by this uncertainty. I feel that shuffling back and forth between quarterbacks, and not letting Tyler finish the first drive and be rewarded for getting them down the field took something away from the whole team. I know the defense played their back side off, but they couldn't win it all by them selves, especially after the coaches shot the offense in the foot too many times. Just my 2 cents worth... olcodgerduck
