  1. Yep. Today was the day I was going to fire up my Sling Orange account again because in the past I could get PAC-12, ESPN, and FS1, etc.

When I realized ESPN was no longer available, I stopped the activation.

Dish owns Sling. It's time to sling the dirty dish.

We already have Hulu, so I added live TV/Disney.

All I'm missing is the Pac-12 network.

    Frankly my dear, I don't give a _________.

Why? Because if the Ducks keep improving, I believe other providers will be more inclined to broadcast their games making the Pac-12 Network irrelevant to me.

If a game is only broadcast by the Pac-12 Network, I'll gladly listen to Jerry and Jorgy on the Learfield broadcast.

4-star RB Dante Dowdell remains '100% committed' to Oregon despite Ole Miss visit

    DUCKSWIRE.USATODAY.COM

Dante Dowdell will visit Ole Miss this weekend, but a source tells @zacharycneel that the 4-star RB remains “100% committed” to

Can someone explain how that equates to being committed 100 percent?

Is the word "leaving" missing before " Oregon".

Here’s my honest thoughts about Oregon and it’s revolving door coaching quandary.

I am worried we’re going to be a stepping stone, for young hot shots, wanting to go to the power 2 conferences.

My only hope is that we can honestly become a perennial PAC-10 champ meaning playoffs every year!

But get ready to pay 8 million a year for head coach to stay.  Not to mention the other coaches.

How big is Oregons Pocket book?

I think it was after Helfrich or Taggart when there was a rumor based on a conversation  that Phil might be willing to pay $10m for a coach.

    Remember?

At the time that was about double Saban's salary.

I believe Phil and some donor friends might be willing, if he hasn't already, to subsidize coach and staff salaries if he believes it can keep the program on the right trajectory.

Otherwise, if I'm any assistant in the country, I'd consider dealing with a dumpster fire for a few million.

  4. Based on what I've seen, yes.

Nix is third on Auburn's all-time passing yards list. THIRD!

Loyalty is all but out the window in sports.

Nix could opt for the NFL AND Thompson and Butterfield could enter the portal.

I heard a rumor that the Sears Christmas catalog is now the NCAA Portal opportunities catalog.

But why do we persist on pounding on him?

He's gone from Oregon.  Let him stay gone.  GO OREGON!

A truly noble and challenging question.

I was holding out hoping he could right the ship, but the writing was on the wall when the QB situation was suspect.

In the end a lot of the poking is mostly coming from "we were right" and Miami fans didn't take our word for it.

It is astounding that Miami is experiencing not one, not two but NUMEROUS issues that were pointed out from the first timeout of Mario's Oregon stint.

If Mario turns his train wreck around and Miami fans gloat, I'll be fine with it abd happy for him.

I think a lot of folks would like to see Oregon play Miami in the playoffs. So we can show them what an offensive hurricane really looks like.

  6. After all the OBD FishDuck comments and articles I've seen, I am convinced if MC would actually let his staff do their jobs knowing they will mistakes at times, he could have a national contender in a short time.

But, he'll never get there under his current game philosophy, which results in a high turnover rate.

Moorehead took a huge step down. I don't blame him. But, the real question no one may ever know is what caused the hospitalization right before last year's Stanford game?

I do feel sorry for Mario, but his pride is hurting himself and a lot of other people.

Thank you for sharing. Unfortunately, this still doesn’t explain why 3rd down was the correct down to come back to. If the goal was to give WSU one more play, why not just give them another 4th down?

How can these officials say it was corrected if WSU never got their 2nd down situation and play call? Did they still get it wrong after a 24 hour review? If all they did was replay the exact two plays, then nothing changed and nothing was “corrected”.

I really desire to fully understand the game and this just doesn’t compute.

    It will never make sense.

WSU coach Dickert said he brought this up at the time.  You could see the conversation during the broadcast.

Here is what should have happened.

WSU should have been able to challenge the down number by having it reviewed.

It would not have taken the replay official much time to go back and look at the series to determine they missed a down before allowing the officials to jump to third down.

If the coach doesn't want to challenge, then nothing should be done. They play on.

Going back 2 or more plays, though, has disaster written all over it, in my opinion.

The reason I retired from coaching (besides being old), was the last head coach I worked under did the same thing.  He stole the fun from football!

Underutilized and unappreciated as an assistant was not worth the long hours.  Time to retire.  IMHO Mari no O is the same type.

That's sad. Sorry to hear that.

He is not a great offensive line coach either, IMHO, but he is a great recruiter of players and coaches.

A great recruiter, but not a great retainer, in my opinion.

I am a man of few words and concise thoughts. Yesterday in a fit of disappointment I simply posted "BO PIX". This morning after reflecting on Bo's 468 yrd performance in the winning effort at the Palouse, I hereby rescind any derogatory inference in that post. I pledge to not deride Bo as long as he never throws more than one interception in any game for the remainder of his career at Oregon.

That "in game" comment was appropriate.  Those kinds of comments feel like we are sitting in the bleachers together.

I try to hold my emotions in check, but it's very difficult coming from the Grey beard culture where we were coached much more harshly than today.

Anyway, I want Bo's Oregon experience to be the highlight of his life.

I LOVED seeing Thompson and Butterfield rally around him on field right after the win. That tells me a LOT about all three of those souls.

They recapped them on the ESPN Morning show, but not in p😮rint. Probably because Fox carried their last 2 games.

Yes, I'm referring to the online recap.

Good thought regarding Fox games, but the Maryland vs Michigan and the Kansas St vs Oklahoma recaps are there.

    Hmmmmmm...🙈🙉🙊

  12. And what would his percentage be if he didn't have to throw it away.

Adjustments were made in the 2nd half. The 1st half blitzes were Kamikaze like. WSU won in the trenches at the goal line.

2nd half was a different story and that first TD to start it put everyone watching on notice.

Kelly's teams OFTEN sputtered the first half. Then adjustments were made and the opposition got burned out.

WSU are Cougars for a reason. Controlling them is like trying to herd cats.

Taggart was a prophet when he said, "Buckle up." It's gonna be a wild ride.

    I'm loving this season!

It worked out in Oregon’s favor, but my OCD can’t get past this.

I'll bet Mike Leach is texting the Pac-12 with the same question right now from Mississippi. It's insanity.

And the second versions of 3rd and 4th downs were virtually repeats of the first versions.

Can you imagine watching the game while the audio is muted, running to the restroom after the first 4th down punt, coming back to the TV, only to see it play out again?

  14. Referee: "What's up?"

Replay booth: "Uh, hate to say this but second down was actually first down. We have to replay third down."

Referee: "Is that so? Yeeeeeah, we aren't doing that."

That's how the NFL handles it, I'm pretty sure. 😀
