what a sweet and informative article. i have been a Kupp fan since he shredded the ducks the first game after the ducks lost the natty to tOSU. honestly, Kupp might have been ultimately responsible for Pellum’s demotion.

personally, i think that the name “civil war” is just lazy and not very descriptive of the rivalry. even taking the politics and history out of it, it’s not a good name. the real disservice is how long it’s taking to rechristen the game “the platypus bowl.” now that’s a good name.

don’t believe your lying eyes… all those games where KT single-handedly stopped the final drive by the opposing team—that wasn’t heart, just luck. all those plays where KT beat his man to the QB—that was just magic, not the product of hard work. all those shots on the sideline of KT encouraging his teammates, that was just show biz, not caring. you see?

i don’t blame dye at all. i loved eugene but was def ready to try something else after 4 yrs. And don’t forget that Dye has a fiancé who has a say in the matter. that said, it’ll be a sad day watching duck football with no Dyes on the field.

respectfully, everyone talks about the coaches’ families… from all accounts jessica, rocco, and mario mateo cristobal loved eugene. the taggarts and the moorheads, not so much. that danimal brought his entire family on his first trip to eugene bodes well.

the prob is that we played 9 bad football teams and 3 good ones. we were only 1-3 against the good ones. there was another thread about how the dux “really” did this year. i would posit that the only record that matters is ATS. We were 5-8 ATS. We severely underperformed. What I really want, more than a Natty, is an undefeated record ATS.

at a certain point, you have to bench a poor performer (AB) even if his replacement is worse. there must be consequences and the rest of the team needs to see that
