for me it was all the off-field issues. arrests, drugs, domestic violence… that lack of discipline off-field fueled the lack of discipline on the field. and it was just a plain disservice to the kids who needed/wanted strong leadership.

what makes him snake-like is he said he was staying at oregon to get us a natty. he sold that to these kids. and even the recent graduates who thought they were going be the foundation of that natty in coming years. he also sold those kids that they were his family. everyone uses MCs proximity to family as an excuse for his departure. but i thought he had 100+ family members in eugene. all those players who were CristoBallIn… they got him his job, and he ditches before their last bowl game. and ditches at the worst time for ducks future. and when he had the chance to come clean and be straight, he mocked people for questioning him. he’s snake-like bc he lied and we believed him. i really believed him.

Agreed. Feld always managed to “find his lense.” And he also managed to say some pretty obviously wrong things if you followed him on twitter. all the “unprecedented “ injuries from this year were likely the result of improved detection and recovery protocols. thank goodness!!

I would prefer we pass on Kiffin. he was a disaster and embarrassment at usc. i don’t care how much he’s “improved” as a coach, oregon deserves better than sc’s sloppy seconds. in fact, if OR is targeting ANY former or current pac12 coaches, it would be a major disappointment. imho, we need a young, nfl assistant

uhhhh, have you looked at zillow? that $700k would just be going to the local S FL real estate investor instead of statewide social services. and it would be waaaaaaaay more than 700k more for the equivalent in eugene.

$7 M in eugene goes waaaaaaaay further than $8 M in miami. so there’s that.

@deschutesduck i totally agree it’s a negotiation tactic. that doesn’t make it ethical. He’s been cagey all fall. first it was usc. now it’s miami. that’s not how you treat “family.”
