  1. No more causing the players to yell at the coaches "Run the damn ball!!!". No more pretending the boos from the crowd are aimed at the team. Start rotating the top FOUR backs continually through the season to build a solid deep running offense.
  2. Hmmm . . . reminds me of the time when my high-school Friday-night date called me to cancel because her grandma died . . .
  3. I definitely would turn down a former drug addict and a driver who enjoys going 85 in a 45 . . . hey, that's just me. Lesson: Always look behind the curtain.
  4. And the Musical Chairs Season now really begins . . .
  5. And I admire him for refusing to shop at Whole Foods because they are way too expensive . . .
  6. Actually, the official measurement by the video stats analysts of that pass was 63.8 yards in the air. And remember, back at his college pro-day two years ago, Herbert slinged that pig TWICE OVER 60 YARDS while STANDING FLAT-FOOTED on the goal line. Meanwhile, note his relatively meager coverage on ESPN, both TV and web site?! Herbert continually makes my jaw drop to the ground. Why not with ESPN?
  7. If you do some digging, you will discover Herbert is breaking some NFL statistical record or entering some elite all-time top statistical group nearly EVERY WEEK.
  8. Have you noticed? Herbert at 23 and Brady at Jurassic have been trading with each other the TOP QBR IN THE NFL the past few weeks. That says it all.
  9. Forty years ago, I fled from the mid-west at about the same age as Lanning. Within a couple of months of arriving in Oregon, I knew I would never be living anywhere else again. It happens, and it happens to many.
  10. I respectfully disagree with the letter. The Oregon football culture does not need to be re-established or re-created. It needs to be MODERNIZED to today's competitive reality. We are NOT top-echelon, just a BIG DUCK sitting in a little west-coast pond. But we do have the POTENTIAL in every way EXCEPT COACHING to reach that stratospheric level. Going to the next-gen of coaches such as Lanning is a promising sign.
  11. One of the truest sayings ever uttered: "Gold is where you find it."
  12. Well, aren't we paying him enough to be doing four jobs all at the same time? After all, that IS his job as HC.
  13. You're right. I'm so glad we passed on Brandon Staley five years ago . . .
  14. A+. Oregon needs a total flush of its coaching culture. Clean feathers. I don't ever want to see sideline stupidity and pretense again.
  15. Not me. I have always believed in "new-gen". And Lanning clearly has represented the best of it so far. I'm not seeking all-too-familiar "west coast" or "Chip 2.0". I'm looking for an establishment of a new glistening brand of "OREGON". I'm excited again!
  16. Uh, didn't we just gamble on a second-time head coach?
  17. One GOOD outcome here: there are a LOT of people NATION-WIDE excited about Oregon's coach selection progress . . . advertising is always a positive thing.
  18. Is he distantly related to Brandon Staley?
