  1. It's very likely already having an impact on some of the kids who are considering Oregon. How could it not be? It's a big deal. The Pac 12 landscape has changed.
  2. Geat news for the Pac12. Not such great news for the Ducks. If Riley can bring his freshman quarterback with him, he's set. That kid can play.
  3. I have to agree to disagree here. Because with Mario, I don't see any chance of the Ducks winning a national championship. In my opinion, there are very few coaches who can make the other team look as good as Mario does.
  4. Quite possibly. But we're already losing top talent, through decommits, the portal, and the ineffective use of the players on the field and bench.
  5. I don't see that happening, but I'll keep my fingers crossed. One can hope.
  6. I'd have to see how those coaches performed with the resources the Duck program has before I could agree with you. Heck, the Stoney Brook coach looked pretty good compared Mario.
  7. Exactly! It's not like a new coach would be walking into a dumpster fire of a program. Even if they can't recruit at Mario's level, they'd be hard pressed to coach any worse than he does.
  8. Don't get your hopes up. It would be completely out of character. Too much risk.
  9. He's extremely overvalued. And, unfortunately, he refuses to learn from his mistakes. We have a very good chance of losing our next game. And even if we don't, do you truly believe we'll beat Utah in a rematch? I don't.
  10. What a bozo. Lake tries to insult the Ducks and instead assaults the English language. His "more academically prowess teams" comment is a grammatical nightmare. Instead of giving interviews that embarrass his school, maybe he should attend a few freshman English classes.
  11. I hate booing. I think it's bush league and classless. And I'll stick with old adage "the ends don't justify the means."
  12. "It was a hard-fought game," Thibodeaux said. "We love games like that, being able to be out there playing to the last whistle. It was exciting. There was so much going on. I love it." Great quote.
  13. First, let me say that while I may not agree with your comments all the time, I certainly enjoy reading them. As for the question, and speaking for myself, no. I wouldn't be happier. Not if everything else remained the same. It goes back to what Charles said, it's "the way we arrived at 5-1." And all that implies for the future.
  14. Exactly! To confuse this concept with the idea that fans are spoiled is actually rather insulting (even if it's not meant to be). Please give us more credit than that.
  15. “We’re never going to reach the standard that we set for this offense,” Oregon offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead said. What??? If they can't even reach their "standards" how in the world are they going to reach their "goals." Misspoke? Fair enough. But if he meant to say "goals," that brings up the question of why set completely unachievable goals? What's the point? It's a meaningless activity. And why would anyone buy-in to make believe goals? They won't. It's just a joke. And if that's a window into the coaching staffs' thought processes, it reveals a lot. None of it good.
  16. Duck alum, too. And I swear I'm not trying to be a homer, but I think we're going to get the win. Go Ducks!
  17. Such a great point. And I think a lot of people failed to recognize the negative impact this will have on schools outside of the large media markets.
  18. Frustration is one thing, but booing the kids is bush league. In my book, that's not being a true fan. And I don't care how much a ticket cost. If someone is that dissatisfied, they need to stay home and find another bandwagon to jump on. Just my humble opinion....but I say that as someone who sat through the 0-0 Civil War tie...in the rain...so I think that counts for something.
  19. No confidence at all. I just don't see it happening. He's a great recruiter, but not a particularly good coach. Despite having superior talent on his roster, there have been far too many times when he's made the opposing team look good. Frankly, he seems to have a knack for it.
