Coastal Carolina runs one of the most innovative and high scoring offenses in D1 college football. Can we enjoy the offensive days of old UO vicariously through the Chanticleers?

While this thread is full of comedy gold, I think the word for Oregon under Cristobal is harnessed. Chip was a spread genius with the support of a talented stable of long term Oregon assistant coaches that helped the horses run fast and free. Cristobal has been amassing more talented players and assistant coaches, but has held back the reigns. I wonder when he will let his horses run?

Toughest Prediction Contest EVER for Oregon Fans?
Duck1984 replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Sure Charles, let’s do it. While the pessimism is still high. Some will be happy with the outcome of a dire prediction, but also happy to be wrong. Realists likely won’t care either way. Others will be happy with the outcome of an optimistic prediction, but could be wrong, yet still happy as optimists. Everybody is happy except the realists. -
Still Processing Too? I do not Know WHAT to Make of it...

Has Mario done anything that he didn’t say he was going to do? I had a boss once that operated solely on checklists. Mario seems a lot like him. Both were successful in accomplishing goals. I don’t recall any goals about looking good while plowing through the list. Will we give him credit if he wins ugly? Maybe not, but I doubt he cares. -
Cal GameDay Thread: A 2021 Crossroads Game?
Duck1984 replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
No, I was referring to the pass where the receiver lost touch with the ground, caught the ball, then touched his feet down again out of bounds. Not sure the catch would have been overturned, but a challenge would have killed some momentum and given the D rest and time to regroup. -

Ducks game plan worked. Hope the UCLA game plan is even better. -

I was telling my son they would pitch to Brooks on the final play. Guess not? -

Coach Feld saved us from giving Cal a first down. Dude was quick to shut down the taunting! -

Now we need two scores, and a shutdown D for the rest of the 4th Q. Are the talented young Ducks up for the task? -
Cal GameDay Thread: A 2021 Crossroads Game?

We were down to one timeout with less than 30 seconds left in the half, and still outside field goal range. That was a sure touchdown waiting to happen with better QB and clock play. -

If he doesn’t get a taunting call after every catch. -

Williams is going to get called for taunting if he doesn’t learn to give the ball to the ref and ignore the defensive player after a catch. -

That was a downed ball by Brown. He put it on the ground. -

The young Ducks lack the experience to play as a favorite and trust their teammates to make the next play. Hopefully playing from behind changes things. -
Thibodeaux: Goals Away from Football Field More Important
Duck1984 replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Thibideaux seems to have his goals set. He needs to take down Garbers a few times in the second half for any chance at a Heisman. -

Athlon Sports Prediction for Oregon-Cal...Interesting.
Duck1984 replied to Charles Fischer's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
A Justin Wilcox coached Cal team with an experienced D and QB in Eugene is dangerous. With Thibideax out for the first half, we can expect to see an aggressive Cal passing attack with Garbers flinging it wide and deep. Call will load the box and press Duck receivers, daring Brown to beat them with reads and decisions. This is a tough game to pick. I typically go with the best coach and QB combination, so possibly an edge to Cal. Overall talent favors the Ducks, but experience favors Cal. I expect a physical game with lots of penalties called. Hopefully some are against Cal. Ducks need to keep it close in the first half, then win with adjustments in the second half. Can Cristobal adjust? Will his coaches be allowed to do their jobs? I see the Ducks winning a close game. I don’t know if Brown is the winning QB. -
Power and greed caused distress among the meek and powerless, yet led to the downfall of the alpha baboons? Left to care for their community, the meek created a less stressful baboon society? Does it take baboons to help us understand the messages of many historical profits and philosophers? Charles, thank you for weeding out the alpha baboons from this forum!

Mario Cristobal Can’t Turn Talent Into Production
Duck1984 replied to FishDuck Article's topic in Our Beloved Ducks
Suggested alternative headline for this article: Can Mario Cristobal and Staff Turn Talent into Production? Love the research, but am not sure of the conclusion. This is a young flock that I expect will mature into flying Ducks in the years to come. -
How many games until Ty Thompson’s redshirt is burned? Would he want to be a four year player after this season?
-
Jon, I thought the early game plan was inadequate, but Duck adjustments seemed good enough to win. Sadly, our youthful exuberance and inexperience resulted in some ill timed penalties that opened the door for Stanford to exploit our smaller defensive backs with big receivers. This one felt like deja vu all over again at the farm.
