While this thread is full of comedy gold, I think the word for Oregon under Cristobal is harnessed. Chip was a spread genius with the support of a talented stable of long term Oregon assistant coaches that helped the horses run fast and free. Cristobal has been amassing more talented players and assistant coaches, but has held back the reigns. I wonder when he will let his horses run?

A Justin Wilcox coached Cal team with an experienced D and QB in Eugene is dangerous. With Thibideax out for the first half, we can expect to see an aggressive Cal passing attack with Garbers flinging it wide and deep. Call will load the box and press Duck receivers, daring Brown to beat them with reads and decisions. This is a tough game to pick. I typically go with the best coach and QB combination, so possibly an edge to Cal. Overall talent favors the Ducks, but experience favors Cal. I expect a physical game with lots of penalties called. Hopefully some are against Cal. Ducks need to keep it close in the first half, then win with adjustments in the second half. Can Cristobal adjust? Will his coaches be allowed to do their jobs? I see the Ducks winning a close game. I don’t know if Brown is the winning QB.

Jon, I thought the early game plan was inadequate, but Duck adjustments seemed good enough to win. Sadly, our youthful exuberance and inexperience resulted in some ill timed penalties that opened the door for Stanford to exploit our smaller defensive backs with big receivers. This one felt like deja vu all over again at the farm.
