I said this in another thread but it deserves repeating. Lanning is filling his roster with extremely good players at every position and going deeper with talent than ever before. Not sure what Dans IQ is but his football talent IQ is off the charts.

I need to go back to bed and wake up again. Dan and company are taking care of any weakness that could be forthcoming at all positions. Never seen anything like this in Eugene in my 75 years. Crazy!! My old brain just can’t keep up.

Could be wrong but I don’t see him landing at a blue blood program unless they have an established QB. That only means TT will be sitting again and he is running out of time. I agree it was time for him to go and I hope he finds a place where he can get some meaningful snaps but I have my doubts.

I agree that the QB is the most important player on any roster, just quoting the obvious here. In my mind to compete and win the conference next season is an improvement in the trenches and our defense over all. I’m not too worried about the o-line which I think will be stable enough to get the job done. Front seven needs to be better than this season. We are loosing a few key players and replacing them may be a tough ask. I have confidence that our coaches might get this done but after watching the mutts make our run defense look so bad in the championship game my confidence is very low at the moment.

I guess all this means our coaches are staying put for now, which is extremely important.

If Riley had not brought Williams into the fold at usuc he would have been lucky to have been 500. Williams won more games for Riley with his heroics than Riley’s genius would have ever gotten him. He better bolt for an nfl job while his seat is still a bit warm. I’m sure someone is going to need an offensive coordinator up there soon. Should be lots of openings after the nfl regular season. I could see usuc being a bottom dweller next season and that would just break my heart. This is just my opinion of coarse.

I just wonder how much time is actually spent trying to develop QBs. I do know that Herbert was held back because of a conservative coach that doesn’t know a lick about offense. It seems QBs now days, even in the NFL, need to use their legs to be effective and when you have poor quality backups the risk of running them is far too great. An offensive coordinator trying to coach QBs seems like a big ask. If Stein in the QB coach, which I assume he is, then is it too much to ask of him or is he really qualified. In my mind it would be easier to steel a good one with a track record than to spend lots of time to develop a 5 star that should already be good according to rivals. The big draw back here is trying to teach the guy a new system if he only has 1 year left. I hear there are over 100 QBs in the transfer portal this season so it’s pretty obvious the Ducks aren’t the only program with a serious problem. Not sure how to fix it. It’s for sure the NCAA doesn’t know either.

All I want for Xmas is for our coaches to step up 10%.

Let’s not forget Oregon with D Dixon went into the big house in 2007 and put up 624 total yards against Mich. And licked their butts 39/7. They ran it for 331 yards against the dreaded Mich defense. OSU only beat them by 11. Mich won 9 games that year and the Oregon beat down was the worst defeat Mich had that season.

Conclusive Evidence that they are scared to death of the Ducks is why they can’t stop talking about us. Soon they will be loosing sleep. I’m sure they can’t get over the last butt whipping they took the last time we traveled to osu and mich.

It is fun to read all the pain that is being inflicted on MarinoO and the river rats. Gets us thru the quiet time in December and makes me smile. can’t wait for Moore.

You are correct, I can’t see anything about a salary cap in college football. let’s see. Who has the most money.

Like most of us know that win today is mandatory in college football and developing a quarterback is extremely difficult. Time is of the essence in todays landscape. The eye ball test is always what I use to evaluate how a guy will perform under pressure. TT never won me over and obviously never won the coaches over. Saw him in the spring game couple years back, he showed good arm strength but was late with his reads and threw behind receivers more than once. Never saw that fire in his eyes and never saw it this year as well, not sure it’s in his belly either. I’m actually surprised he was our backup this season and if the coaches were not impressed with him I wonder what they truly think of Austin. Worries me a bit. Wish him luck and I’m sure he will find a place to land.

I think the only winner in this deal will be Bucky’s agent. Very sad in my opinion.

Little bit small to be a bell cow in the nfl. Linebackers don’t miss tackles much in the nfl and might put some pain on him. With NIL don’t understand the rush to take a physical beating when a good nil deal is there for a good college RB. Might make a good slot guy cause he does have some good hands. Imo.

My pop was an infantry man in the South Pacific for over 4 years. Had some very terrifying stories. He and his war buddies had reunions yearly and he wrote a book called the pissers which you can see at camp Wittington. Those guys were loyal to each other till the day they died.

Dillon seems to survey the field as well as anyone. Let’s face it that was a TT weakness. Kid doesn’t have great speed but is quick in his reactions to the defense. I’m excited as I was with Bo. Time will tell but I like what I see.
